Beauty Advent Countdown!

Did anyone else get a beauty advent calendar? I got a Selfridges one and am stupidly excited about opening the first door tomorrow! Anyone else?

I was a tiny bit disappointed with the Liberty one as well - it is a good size, but I would have thought they would have started with something a bit more unusual or exciting?

I'd class it as useful (have popped it straight in my handbag), but I didn't get the advent calendar to get "useful" things!

I was actually a wee bit disappointed in the M&S one (as was DD - the plan is that we open them together on Skype every morning before she goes to her classes). We were a bit 'oh well, that's....useful'. It just seemed such a basic everyday thing, we were hoping for something new.

Between dd and I we have Jack Wills, asos, decleor and look fantastic (we had already bought two then her godmother gifted us one each-we love her).

We had a good start to advent this morning.

Can this be a spoilers thread do you think?

I am still waiting for my latest in beauty/ you one to arrive . Did you all not look at the lists of products included before you ordered . I intend to use a lot of the ones in mine as presents .

I didn't buy mine, my MIL surprised me with it. Although I have some idea of some the things in it it isn't as though I researched it first.

Agree that Liberty gift was disappointingly practical. Also have the Space NK free one - £50 gift card, which didn't really do it for me in terms of instant gratification.

False eyelashes! Not thrilled about that at all. Plus, everything in the left side of the box had slid around and wasn't in place behind the doors anymore, so I had to open loads to arrange it again Angry

Now that's interesting - I have the Selfridges one and got perfume. I assumed they were all the same - or is there more than one Selfridges one?

Me and my DCs opened ours at 6.30am. They were non plussed by my perfume, but very happy with their Match Attax! I love Christmas!

Maybe we should set up a swap shop after Xmas?!?!

I wouldn't actually know how to apply fake eyelashes if I got them!

I would however, have loved the hand cream. It's clearly very personal!

It's late now so

Jack Wills- pale pink nail polish
Asos- facial scrub
Decleor- aroma cleanser mini
Look Fantastic - pixi glow tonic mini

So all things we will use. No microbeads in the scrub and the glow tonic I use already. I'm going to try the cleanser this evening.

Roll on tomorrow.

Whocansay - oh, weird! What perfume did you get? My box is pink, called 'beauty workshop' - it looks like there's one called 'eclectic little luxuries' as well, maybe that's what yours is?

I have the Sanctuary one and got s lovely salt scrub. Am very pleased. (Thought everyone would have opened theirs by now. I want to know what people get!!)

Opened Day 2 of the M&S Calender. Looking forward to using this, have used a cheap one from Superdrug before but I'm hoping the results will be better from this one. Possibly not this morning though as I'm a little hungover after our company office do and the thought is a bit scary!

It was a neals yard hand cream strawberry - very nice, although mistaken for burt's bees as it's covered in them!

I've just opened box 2 - nice body lotion in the sanctuary one and rodial acid peel in the m&s. I've used other rodial products, and liked them, so am looking forward to this

I would rate the neals yard hand cream over the aveda one. Which smelt and felt a bit like putting toothpaste on my hands.

I'm not fussy, will enjoy every tiny shampoo or cream that comes out! So nice to be pampered and have something curated every morning (especially if your dh is not the most on point with present buying)!
