Blingy pm

Everyone love the sound of your today's outfit, sounds very chic.

Today am doing my Sofia Coppola, blue skinnies with cream silk shirt under navy Marant jumper with side split. Shirt is from Zara and has rip in sleeve so can only wear under jumpers. Any ideas as to where I can get a reasonably priced replacement on high st? Want something machine washable.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 20/10/2016 17:12

afternoon all

everone's going out outfits sound fab. love that skirt justa tempted by it myself, i love velvet, think it's a hangover from my goth days!!

How are your parents managing now shop? hope you are managing better too, you seemed so frazzled and in need of a good long rest

your bag is lovely blair and nice that they made sure you got the discount

I keep toying with the idea of having my hair cut again but it's taken so long to grow out since the 'mick hucknell' incident that i feel like i shouldn't and i do like being able to style it in different ways because the length, i just don't like how it gets knotty underneath at the back when it rubs on scarves if i wear it loose

libertydoddle · 20/10/2016 17:45

Maybe you need to grow it a bit longer one?

Mara &other stories do nice silk shirts for about £65 I think. I have one and always chuck it in the machine on a wool cycle and it's fine. I find the arms slightly narrow though and one day in a PMT induced rage I hacked off the sleeves so can now only wear it under jumpers!! Blush

one I am intrigued by the 'mick hucknell incident'????

mara like the sound of the Sofia Coppola outfit! I'm really liking a navy and cream combo. I'm not really a shirt person so can't help I'm afraid.

shopafrolic · 20/10/2016 19:02

Justa I love you. I nipped into space NK and tried the Touche Veloutee - just lovely. And then found a perfect daytime red lipstick also By Terry - the new click ones. Feels lovely on, easy to apply and stays put. Flowers

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 20/10/2016 19:53

everyone the 'mick hucknell' incident relates to the terrible, terrible idea of letting my sister do a home perm on my hair. it all matted together into ginger/red dreadlocks and all had to be cut out. i lost about 6 inches of hair and had it cut to just above chin length. that was about 18 months ago ish and it's now just about the same length it was before. if anyone ever wants to home perm your hair and they aren't a hairdresser, RUN!!!!

Everyonelovessparkles · 20/10/2016 20:05

Oh no one that sounds bad Shock. Glad it's growing back though.

Drywhitethanks · 20/10/2016 20:13

Happy I tried those boots on.....nice.

Stokey I saw a woman today looking funky in a leather/pleather pleated black midi skirt and stans with a chunky jumper, thought if you.....v cool.

Today I've been reminded how important a couple of inches can be stop it!! .....just picked a couple of Boden dresses up from the alteration lady, taken 1 1/2" up, makes all the difference, from slightly frumpy to mildly chic. Really I think well fitted clothes are underestimated. I'm manic about proportions, actually generally just manic!

Touch veloutee sounds interesting. Will check it out.

shopafrolic · 20/10/2016 20:21

Nice article from my local stylist

shopafrolic · 21/10/2016 09:33

Mara Uniqlo used to do good silk shirts......
Sad news Richard Nicoll

QueenCobalt · 21/10/2016 09:50

Voguettes, i need help....what do I want for my birthday? Dh keeps asking me and I really don't know and if I don't give him any ideas, who knows what I'll end up with. I have suggested going shopping when we go to London but he's not keen on that idea.
My only 2 ideas are this necklace which I do really like although the one I love is the one that costs £3 more with diamonds Grin. Or a missoni scarf (does anyone have one? I'm worried that as they are crochet/fine knit that they will pull).
No bags/shoes or other jewellery has caught my eye. I don't do expensive smellies/candles/perfumes.
Any other ideas what I may want ??

BerniceBobsHerHair · 21/10/2016 10:44

QueenC is that a typo about the £3 extra for the necklace you prefer? As wouldn't you in that case go for that one? If you can't think of anything, how about carrying it over to Christmas? Then you might have some inspiration, and can also get something more expensive.

Did you decide not to get some French sole ballerinas?

That is sad about Richard Nicoll - my wedding dress was actually an asos and Richard Nicoll collab - unfortunately I don't have it anymore.

Dry the Dune boots sound like a good option, I think you would wear them quite a bit - though I guess it does restrict if you don't feel comfortable wearing them at work.

I wore my culottes yesterday with brogues, I liked it, will also wear them casually with Stans I think.

One Mick Hucknall incident sounds alarming!

I have a Uniqlo silk shirt (whihc goes in the machine), was just thinking I could do with another!

BerniceBobsHerHair · 21/10/2016 11:15

Just looked at Uniqlo - they seem to only be doing their 'silk touch' shirts now Sad

QueenC thinking about it, I think you missed out a 'k' as a £3 diamond would be unusual Grin needs Brew

Dream I find Zalando really good for trainers - currently lusting after these but also like Nike cortez at mo. I think you are a fellow trainer lover.

QueenCobalt · 21/10/2016 11:45

Grin at bernice. Yep, definitely 3k!!!

I'd love to carry over till Christmas but unless I come up with an idea for a bigger presenthe won't go for it. And sadly even the 2 combined doesn't stretch to Tiffany diamonds! I just don't want him wasting money on tat for the sake of it iyswim.

QueenCobalt · 21/10/2016 11:46

Lush colour trainers btw. I do also like the Cortez.

Dreamqueen · 21/10/2016 12:28

Love those trainers Bernice

I haven't taken QueenCs advice to bin the vouchers. I ordered a longer length breton from Boden. I like having back up of staples in my wardrobe.

Not much advice for birthday present QueenC except perhaps a very nice leather jacket.

For a change there is nothing that I'm lusting after & I'm finding the shops very uninspiring. (lets hope this sensible head lasts. LOL)

HappyGirlNow · 21/10/2016 14:11

Hi all!

Had to share my only ever Boden order - love them, hope they're as nice in real life.

Had literally just ordered them when I received an email from Boden for 15% off and free delivery! I have emailed them asking that they apply to this order. Every other website offers against first order, if this is for second order only they really should wait a bit before sending as it's a bit galling to get this 1 minute after you've ordered! No reply as yet..

Anyone got nice plans for the weekend?

shopafrolic · 21/10/2016 15:00

Bernice you'd look fab in Cortez........

HappyGirlNow · 21/10/2016 15:37

QueenC what about a Louis Vuitton scarf? I have this in black and also cream..

Everyonelovessparkles · 21/10/2016 16:26

happy I had £10 off a spend over £30 you could have used as well. Boden customer service are usually quite good at applying discounts codes.

queenc does it have to be an actual 'thing' or would you like something like a dinner dance at the ritz or a nice afternoon tea somewhere? Would you like a classic buy like a nice navy jacket? Or a nice purse? Do you like swarvoski jewellery as they have a few nice bracelets in the new collection or a Hermes clic clac bracelet? Or a classic pair of patent pumps from somewhere like jimmy choo? just thinking of all the things I would likeSmile

shopafrolic · 21/10/2016 17:50

QueenC a cuff from Maria Tash at Liberty for your new piercing

AmberNectarine · 21/10/2016 18:31

I have a missoni scarf - don't love it TBH. It hasn't pulled though.

Jewellery? Dinny Hall has some lovely stuff.

AmberNectarine · 21/10/2016 18:37

Yeah, what about really nice ballet flats? Lanvin or Ferragamo etc? Do you have a nice watch? Monica vinader does lovely, delicate diamond jewellery which isn't £££.

Otherwise I would just ask him to ring fence the cash and get you a Charlotte tilbury lippy for on the day or something. No point in him getting you something you don't need/want.

Could see you in this

AmberNectarine · 21/10/2016 18:38

Out for dinner/drinks with DH tonight - need to dry hair/chose outfit/get there in under an hour - oops!

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 21/10/2016 20:02

i already know what my sister has bought me for christmas, it's a black swing skirt with a flamingo applique on it. i love it and can't wait to wear it Grin other than that.....i have noooooo idea what i'll get, DP likes to surprise me, he always manages to get things i like though so i'm not worried about being bought pans or a hoover or something haha

i'm in pjs already and ready for bed but i'm hanging on to talk to DP as he's working late tonight plus if i go to bed now, i'll wake up at stupid o'clock and not be able to get back to sleep
