Meriboo that's it you beauty!! The only problem is that they are wide fitting. So in summary...I want those boots in a standard fitting in a size 3.5Grin

Longislandicetee · 19/10/2016 20:21

I think Amber is right, those Dune ones look very good!

Stokey, that spray is magic stuff and considerably shortened my suffering this time compared to last time. Hope you and Amber recover soon.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 19/10/2016 20:41

Dry love those Dune boots, would definitely be you and look forward to hearing your verdict! I am not really tempted by OTKs as I know I wouldn't wear them much so can't justify it.

I had a lovely weekend thanks Everyone! Didn't even wear the fleece, phew.

Finally got around to ordering the LKB bag today... they took a week to reply to my email, but told me to order over the phone so that's what I did and got the discount. Thanks LKB! This is the first "proper" work bag (smart, not a lairy colour) I've ever owned haha.

Amber hope you feel better soon and manage to get some rest while off work!

shopafrolic · 19/10/2016 21:16

I tried those Dune OTKs last year but they weren't OTK on me.Grin Lovely quality though.
Sleep found me this Comptoir coat and it's love.

Drywhitethanks · 19/10/2016 21:24

Shop Grin I have opposite prob, not much thin leg showing.

Longislandicetee · 19/10/2016 21:29

Anyone been skiing for half term in Europe and has a recommendation of somewhere good for families that's also luxurious?Flowers

Drywhitethanks · 19/10/2016 21:31

Shop that coat is perfect for you...brilliant.
Blair lovely bag.

HappyGirlNow · 19/10/2016 21:42

Evening everyone!

Can I ask, has anyone seen any evidence that capes/cape jackets will be back 'in' this winter?

Please say yes

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 19/10/2016 22:08

Happy I think they will! Seen them in lots of shops. Either way I'll be wearing mine

Oh good news on the coat shop :)

justasecond · 19/10/2016 22:58

Hi everyone been awol doing home improvements. Finally got round to sorting out my wooden worktops. Wish I could get rid of them for stone as they are high maintenance but after sanding have used an amazing product on them which has darkened them and made them waterproof.
Love that coat shop glad its worked for you. Glad to hear the good news about your df too.
amber and stokey hope you feel better soon
mara those shoes are gorgeous!
dry those boots look good. Agree with the others best to try on at home to see if they work for you
Blair very nice bag, did you get the black?
No shopping news but I have bought a few beauty products which I love
this primer is excellent. Keeps makeup on all day much better than laura mercier that I was using. Would highly recommend if anyone is after a primer
touche veloute finally got round to trying this after been wedded to touche eclat for the past 18 years. It really is much better at covering dark circles, lasts the day and stays in place.

justasecond · 19/10/2016 23:07

mara if you are still after an embroidered stripe shirt this one is 100% cotton!

Forgot I ordered this actually ts velvet skirt mine is the tall version though. This is a massive departure for me as I haven't worn a skirt for over 20 years! It looks nice on but not sure where I will wear it Blush Not convinced about what to wear on my feet either. Despite that I do love it and would like to make it work so any styling tips are v welcome.

HappyGirlNow · 20/10/2016 07:29

Aw brill blair have a couple from last year I love but never barely wore.. Blush

What do you guys think of this? I am strangely drawn! Thought it was very Chanel-sequel. I have it and it's nice on but just not sure. It's VERY heavy. But I do really like it I think it's because it's just a bit different for me..

HappyGirlNow · 20/10/2016 07:30

Love that shirt justa

Dreamqueen · 20/10/2016 07:54

I like that skirt too Justa I 'd wear it with Stans or ankle boots (but I'm weird!)

The Zara dress is lovely happy Not sure I'd waant a heavy dress to weigh me down especially under a winter coat.

Glad that DF is doing better Shop

I've got a £20 voucher & 20% off for Zalando plus £10 voucher & 20% off for Boden. Any suggestions please on what to use them up on? Oct was supposed to be a no spend month but it seems a shame to waste to vouchers Smile I don't really need anything.

Now that I'm back, I'm going to catch up. I find it difficult to read on my phone.

libertydoddle · 20/10/2016 08:13

Thanks for the make up tips justa. I need new primer and the under eye stuff is needed!

Welcome back dream.

2 days until holidays. Cannot wait....

Don't talk about home improvements justa. I'm getting anxious that our room won't be finished and dry in time for when the decorators booked. And I've also got the carpets booked. Stress!! Nice skirt but like you I don't wear them so no idea about styling. Only thing I can think of are images I see-chunky jumper or grey tippi with stans. Great blouse for mara.

I'''m yet to be convinced about otk boots but that's mainly as I haven't seen any irl. They'd look ridiculous round these parts. dry I think it's a good idea as someone said to buy the dune ones and have a play at home with them. Are you the same size as amber? Is she selling Hers??

Slightly different outfit for me today. Navy trousers and cobalt jumper with keds. Not entirely convinced about it but too cold for ballet flats and boots don't go with my trousers. Keds are a bit battered looking but if I'm happy with the look today then I'll buy some smarter trainers for the office. They'd stay clean as I wear my new balance to cycle in. Also wearing the CT Miranda Kerr lipstick. I'm quite fussy about lipsticks-don't like anything with taste or that is sticky. This feels lovely. I tried about 3 others at the weekend but may go back to try more!!

Have a good day everyone.

shopafrolic · 20/10/2016 11:33

Love a good make up tip. Thanks Justa. Can you PM me the details of the wood worktop product if you have time please?
Sat in Costa waiting to go for a knee scan.
Popped to the Dressing Room to try the parka. It is lovely but need to try again as was wearing wide legged trousers which looked ridiculous with it.

Everyonelovessparkles · 20/10/2016 11:39

Nice bag blair abs good that you got the discount. Glad you had a nice weekend.Smile

I like that skirt justa. I would probably style it similarly as to how it's styled in the pictures - black jumper and black shoes / ankle / Chelsea boots.

That dress is nice happy but is it comfortable if it's heavy? would you also still need a cardigan or thin long sleeved top underneath?

Glad you like your new lipstick queenc. I'm using one of those lipstick crayons at the moment. I like the consistency but the colour doesn't seem to last 5mins.

Welcome back dream! Sounded like you had a nice time. I did recently buy these from boden glitter spot top to make a change from a Breton, if this is your type of thing?

FedupNagging · 20/10/2016 12:01

Everyone I haven't seen that metallic skirt irl so can't comment, sorry. Have you ordered it anyway?

Congratulations Blair on your first grownup work bag Grin; great style. I also absolutely love the jacket the model is wearing in the pic. Can't find it on their website though.

Happy that's a lovely dress but not sure about wearing anything that feels heavy.

I have finally altered the wide legged trousers so am wearing them with Jaeger grey polo neck (love this jumper despite shrinking it last year), large silver dragonfly necklace and stans - I feel all snug and cosy.

I am out with friends tonight so intend to wear my red ghillie heels for the first time (have been clomping around the house in them this morning to 'soften' them up!) along with HL skinnies, have yet to decide on the top looks woefully at lack of choice

Shop forgot to say the other day that I'm pleased df is back home - how is he (and your dm) coping?

Stokey · 20/10/2016 13:22

Nice outfit Fedup. Which red ghillie heels do you have?

Gorgeous skirt Justa. I'm still on my hunt for the perfect pleat. I tried the M&S one on yesterday Everyone but didn't really like it in RL, it's kind of a jersey material. I tried on a leather one in &OS too which was good as it didn't do that bulgey hip thing, but was too long, came to just above my ankles rather than just below the knees on the model.

I tried on the chunky red ribbed jumper I'd been lusting over too and it was also enormous. But bought a and black striped top which I'm planning to wear out tonight with pleather skinnies and heeled Chelsea boots.

I like the Channel esque dress Happy, I'm a fan of heavy material as am permanently cold.

I haven't been inspired by much in Boden Dream, I've used my last two vouchers to buy stuff for the DDs.

I got a nice sweatshirt form Zalando last year but haven't bought anything recently.

Hope your knee is OK Shop

QueenCobalt · 20/10/2016 13:42

Just saw this pleated skirt-it's lush.

dream chuck the vouchers in the bin. You don't need anything so don't kid yourself you'd be buying a bargain with them.

What's wrong with your knee shop?

HappyGirlNow · 20/10/2016 14:57

Thanks all, I'm still swithering about the dress, think I'll have another try on with boots etc and see.

Just ordered these Clarks boots - came to the realisation that if I want boots to fit my not thin but not fat calves then I need to shop in more mature stores like M&S or Clarks.. hopefully these will fit!

fedup LOVE those trousers and the sound of your outfit - very Katherine Hepburn! Grin

maradesbois · 20/10/2016 14:58

Hello,

Phew, finally managed a MNV break in a lovely coffee shop, an hour of bliss amid some crazy travelling with small children and the pils ShockShock.

Out tonight in my new uterque dress and the burgundy velvet wang lovisas which I love with a passion! Had a right hoo ha with dhl about the delivery, completely lost my shit and made a proper complaint with the Outnet in copy, long dull story but all sorted now, got them in the nick of time and they are fabulous. Tomorrow is long green dress and sparkly choos night.

Enough about me, have been catching up on the lovely links. Fantastic skirts from QueenC and justa. Love the embroidered shirt link for me, have to sit on hands not to order but really don't want to make my cc bill any bigger this month.

Shop hope all went well at your knee appointment.

Dream welcome back. Good advice from QueenC btw!

maradesbois · 20/10/2016 15:01

Oh and nice grown up bag Blair, it looks perfect for chic work bag and glad you sorted getting the discount. Reminds me must check where they are up too with my Goyard bag. I'll be a very chic job seeker Grin

Everyonelovessparkles · 20/10/2016 16:26

Haven't ordered the skirt fedup and stokey I decided I didn't really need it and it was just buying for the sake of buying.

fedup your going out outfit sounds lovely, as does your day outfit. Whenever I wear new shoes in around the house, it's usually with some completely inappropriate outfit and often I answer the door, forgetting what i am wearing, then die of embarrassment when I catch sight of myself in the hall mirror!

dream, sage advice from Queenc!

mara your outfit for tonight sounds lovely. Shame about the delivery farce but glad all ok in the end.

shop hope your knee is ok.

Had a school visit today for DD next year, so today's OOTD was the 'mum uniform' of skinny jeans, navy spot top, reiss navy blazer, a grey and blue scarf and my new LKB boots.
