Yes online definitely the way to go and I love JL for (a) collection at Waitrose and (B) 3 month returns.

Am annoyed with Wolford tights. They keep falling down. Not sure if I need to size up or down...I was going to buy large but saleswoman in Wolford told me that large would be too big. £25 per pair is too much for getting this wrong. Any tips?

Hello.
Dry that's a good question - I've racked my mind but can't think of anything I've worn outside my comfort zone which has been good. I tend not to stray out of the zone Grin.

Happy I was looking at your second leopard shoes link, the shimmery ones - I like them, how do you find they fit?

Dry the leopard shoes from Marks you bought and returned struck me as a good for for your dress (is that why you wanted leopard shoes?). Lovely dress and great colour.

Everyone look forward to hearing how the LKB dress is, the kind of shoe Mara suggested would be good.

Lovely shoes Mara and much more special than the others you returned.

Glad DF is home Shop Flowers

Have to confess I've broken my spending ban too - some culottes from Warehouse, past season - these are them - they are very long (longer than on model) and will be good for now as can get away with just shoes, and not have to worry about the tights and culottes conundrum Grin

BerniceBobsHerHair · 17/10/2016 12:50

I always size up with tights Lib

libertydoddle · 17/10/2016 12:55

I usually do too Bernice. Was talked out of the large by the SA who was adamant I needed medium. Expensive mistake. Those culottes look great. Very you.

QueenCobalt · 17/10/2016 13:44

That's a pain lib but I wouldn't have thought you need a large. And if they're too small would they full down? Are you sure they're not too big?

mara gorgeous shoes, much nicer than the others. I fully expect blingy to copy you by the end of the week and buy them too! The jeans I got were lily in blue and jade in black. Wore the lily yesterday and they were great. Wearing the new RI ones today and I have to keep hoiking them up. They're definitely not too big though. Sigh, this is why I stuck to gap as at least I know their denim holds up.

Interesting about the personal shoppers. Like dry, I imagine I'm too controlling but it's always fun to try different stuff on even if you don't buy it. Every so often I force myself to try on things out of my comfort zone and it's always nice to have friends who know you recommend things.

Stokey · 17/10/2016 14:20

I always have that problem too QueenC. I thought it was because I've got big hips compared to my waist but don't think you have that problem.

Very annoying Lib, I've found Uniqlo tights quite good for high street, - I always size up too. Anyone have recommendations for tights for DDs? My 4 year old is incredibly leggy and even size 5-6 from M&S/Next seem to be falling down on her.

Amazing shoes Mara , Lol at Adora Dd wanting them.

Nice culottes Bernice, wide trousers are on my wish list but not sure what. I worry about the cold.

maradesbois · 17/10/2016 15:10

Hello,

That's funny Adora Smile.

I must be naive as genuinely had no idea about (lack of) refunds buying in store. Obviously online has to offer blanket protection as you haven't physically tried the goods but would have expected a couple of weeks grace in store nonetheless. When not shopping online I go to individual rather than department stores, probably on my own here but detest Selfridges. Love nothing more than a mooch around bond st/mount st though. Guess I just didn't need to return anything before. In any case am not pissed off as do so love my sparkly shoes.

lib I wear medium wolfords and they don't fall down. There's no way you'd be a large so sounds like just not a good fit for you and better to try a different brand.

Stokey not sure but gap kids trousers always seem long of leg so tights may be the same.

Bernice nice culottes, glad for you that they are v long though! Mine are boxed up waiting to go back. Will buy new ones in the spring if still have the inclination.

Marsha no idea about mytheresa code am afraid, never bought from there.

Everyonelovessparkles · 17/10/2016 15:38

lib do you think you can take the tights back and explain you were advised to get the medium?? I hate it when tights keep falling down. It's one of the downsides of winter.

Nice culottes bernice and a bargain price!

queenc I had a fab pair of jeans from oasis many moons ago - perfect length, perfect fit, nice colour. Then they redid all their designs and that style was lost. Since then I struggled to find another pair in there. I then found a great pair in gap - slim straight in petite - however they too now seem to have stopped making them.

The LBK dress came. I love the colour but I just don't love the dress. It's got one of those annoying separate slips, which irratate me, and whilst I like the dress, I just don't love it enough to spend £225. Glad I bought it though as now I know, whereas otherwise I would have just been thinking about it.

QueenCobalt · 17/10/2016 15:49

everyone I have an irrational hatred of those annoying slips. I always seem to get tangled up!!

Everyonelovessparkles · 17/10/2016 16:10

Me too queenc! Not only are they a nightmare to put up but I think the top dress never sits properly on top of the slip.

HappyGirlNow · 17/10/2016 16:21

bernice they fit perfectly, exactly how I'd expect for my size. Not too narrow or wide. I really like them, M&S have some surprisingly cracking footwear at the moment!

On that note, the second pair of OTK M&S boots I ordered arrived and they fit really well and without the 'pirate bit' at the top Grin Happy!

Longislandicetee · 17/10/2016 19:40

QueenC Grin I am trying to resist Mara's gorgeous shoes.

I am wearing my navy LKB Ariella dress today. It's been a while and I realise that the reason why I like this one and not the others is that this one fits me well. I might create room in my wardrobe!

Such a pity about your dress Everyone I don't mind those dress slip things though they are annoying.

AmberNectarine · 17/10/2016 20:31

Funny you said that blingy as I just noticed my teal one hanging in my wardrobe and thought 'I must either wear that or get rid'.

Have had an absolute shitbomb of a day dealing with a total knob. Going for a restorative bath with a glass of wine and a magazine!

Longislandicetee · 17/10/2016 20:46

That's funny Amber, I looked at my teal one to try and decide whether I still like it.Grin Sorry for your bad day, sounds like my Thursday. Someone I have to deal with who is an utter a-hole. Fairly sure he would less of a tosser if I was a bloke.Hmm

AmberNectarine · 17/10/2016 20:57

Wouldn't mind if it were a client but it's one of the team! Prick.

Everyonelovessparkles · 17/10/2016 21:21

Sorry to hear you've had a shitty day amber, hope you enjoyed your wine and that tomorrow is a better day.

Glad you like the new boots happy.

Nice buys adora. I know all about champagne tastes, cava budget Grin

blair hope you had a nice weekend and the weather wasn't too bad. Did the fleece get its inaugural wearing. Grin

Hope your DF is going ok at home shop.

Boden have sent me a voucher for £10 off a £30 spend, to be used before 22nd oct. I've had a perusal on the website and nothing has taken my fancy, so if anyone wants it let me know and I'll send you the code.

AdoraBell · 18/10/2016 16:19

Thanks Everyone, I really want a pink python skin belt too but it's £495. Can't justify that to myself atm. Have also seen a butter soft suede jacket that I would like, but I already have a brown leather one with faux fur collar, and limited wardrobe space now.

Dreamqueen · 18/10/2016 16:29

Oops! I keep falling off here on "threads I'm on"
Home tomorrow. Credit card has had a rest and is thankful for it.

FedupNagging · 18/10/2016 17:16

Have been away for the last 4 days and didn't get on here even just to lurke Shock - was starting to get withdrawal symptoms Grin

Gorgeous dress Dry, love the colour and fabulous sparkly shoes Mara.

Impressive haul Adora - love the boots and your dd for wanting the sparkly shoes!

Nice to see your shoe haul too Happy and I agree re M&S shoes this winter.

That's very annoying about the tights Lib but Stokey is probably right you should try a different brand. I usually get mine from M&S or JL as they're not too pricey if they don't fit or get ripped.

I'm aware that I have no fashion news yet again - I had £200 budget for boots and possibly a denim dress but I spent it on some artwork at the weekend - oops Blush

FedupNagging · 18/10/2016 17:18

Hope you had a better day today Amber
