Mara I love the dress, and think you would in particular look really good in it (not everyone would) but also agree with not sure it's the best one you can get for black tie. Congrats on slimming world success!

QueenC that's a shame re MU, you will be missed

wow Happy that is impressive, are you keeping all three?! I love them. The two on either side look quite like the Celine trio, but must just be one pocket. You are so welcome to come, and I promise that stye-wise you would fit right in, plus after a prosecco you'd be fine. Have a think about coming :)

Bernice love the shoes, well done on hunting them down

Stokey I think you could wear the bomber, great skirt

HappyGirlNow · 16/09/2016 20:51

Yes marsha keeping all 3 Grin

Thanks so much, I may come to next MU, just a bit of travelling from Scotland.,

I am not planning on any bag buys for a while... Unless anyone has seen a lovely white one??? Cross body or shoulder, fairly dressy but not too dressy Grin

libertydoddle · 16/09/2016 20:59

I'm feeling now I was really harsh about the dress mara Blush I was in total 'no beating around the bush' work mode when posting this morning. I will do a hunt for you but not tonight - am exhausted.

Lovely bags happy. Funny when you say you imagine we are all super stylish - I picture you as being v chic and on trend. When we all meet I am always struck by how different people's styles are here. Lot's of variety.

Logging off early, my eyes are sore and my wrist is feeling suspiciously like it could seize up after an intense week of non stop typing on one device or another. I did this before and ended up needing steroid injections in my wrist to sort it.

You are right lib I can see the diversity from the links.. It's fun isn't it? Style and everyone's own take on it Grin I just love clothe and accessories and no-one I know in real life is quite as interested as me so I'm glad I found you guys Grin

AmberNectarine · 16/09/2016 21:23

To be fair, I am incredibly beautiful, stylish, intelligent and generally intimidating in real life. Totally legit.

HappyGirlNow · 16/09/2016 21:24

Haha I bet you are amber Grin

SoyYo · 16/09/2016 21:24

Girls your links are fab, difficult to resist temptation but honestly the only group I've ever found who gets my fashion even though I'm a cheapskate and don't really do high end or labels. But that's the fabulousness about this MN thread, fresh and always inspiring.
One minute YSL, Channel, Marant the next H&M!

I will try my best to make it to meet in November, I need you in my life! Will I be the only non Brit born and bred there? Please be aware native Spanish speaker here so don't be shocked at my foreign accent feeling rather sensitive post Brexit

Finally for Mara I did think the velvet dress quite unusual and eccentric, I like and own a few boho things (inner old hippy/always a rock chick) but I don't know you as the others said if you can rock it and dare to be different for a black tie event and can amp it up with the right accessories I'd say its definitely worth a try, you can always return if not.
After all...its what makes YOU feel great and beautiful that really matters.

SoyYo · 16/09/2016 21:31

Amber Grin you Are scarily right I put it down to your glorious youth
Happy DH is Scottish (Edinburgh) don't let me be the only "foreigner" at the meet! Smile

HappyGirlNow · 16/09/2016 21:50

SoYo Grin

Wee Zara haul today Grin

jumpsuit

frill top

transparent top

faux leather and fur jacket I don't usually like faux leather but this is soooo cosy! It's almost got me longing for the cold!

HappyGirlNow · 16/09/2016 21:53

Oh and the French Connection fashion week dress - had 10% off code so even more of a bargain.

AmberNectarine · 16/09/2016 22:04

PMSL. SoYo, I am a. 31 and b. a gobby liability. If you want young, beautiful and chic, you need Blair. Actually, Blair reminds me of a girl at work who always looks immaculate and makes me feel like a homeless Helena Bonham-Carter on ketamine every time I speak to her. Some people just have that 'Je ne sais quoi', no? Mara is another one, actually.

I always turn up late, hungover and inappropriately shod.

FedupNagging · 16/09/2016 22:14

Thanks for doing the MU list Marsha. SoYo please don't be worried-we're an eclectic bunch as you will see when you join us and we're very friendly.

Happy you always do so well in Zara-love the jacket.

Last night's outfit sounded fab Stokey. I think we all realise that the fashion & beauty industry is all smoke & mirrors but still it's so easy to forget that when looking fabulous photos.

I watched the vogue doc earlier - did anyone notice the girl singing the praises of vetements jeans to the film maker? He really had no idea what she was talking about so just hummed and hawed - much like my dh really when I talk clothes Hmm. It made me laugh!

MarshaBrady · 16/09/2016 22:18

I just watched the second episode this minute Fedup.

Loved watching both. Karl L is fabulous, Edina and Patsy funny to watch, they seem not to have aged or changed since Ab Fab, such beautiful people on there - working at the mag and the models.

I was put off by the Kate M cover when it came out! I tried to think why I didn't buy it and that was why, I probably would have bought the one with the number. The shoots inside looked good.

Had no idea Alex S had been editor for 25 years, that is incredible. Thought the presenter was even sillier this time.

£750 for jeans is crazy.

MarshaBrady · 16/09/2016 22:20

SoYo not at all, lots of different accents etc

Happy lovely stuff

kittyhello · 17/09/2016 07:18

Marsha I watched the second part too last night. Such a shame there's only 2. I thought it was a series. K Moss came across as really sweet. I thought Anna Wintour also came across well too. I thought she'd be much more frostier. VB sounded as if she was reading from a script.

Blair does have an ethereal quality about her. She/you remind me of a member of the royal familyGrin

Soyo you're not the only non Brit on this thread! Wink

Happy Saturday everyone. Am still in bed so not sure what my ootd will be, need to check the weather.

QueenCobalt · 17/09/2016 07:50

Morning all. Had a lovely date night last night. Usual outfit of navy blouse, jeans and silver shoes.

I still haven't watched the first vogue doc but watched Thursday's. I didn't really get the presenter at all as he seemed so disinterested. And Alex S comes across as someone teetering on the edge who could break down at any minute. I wasn't impressed with the KM cover at all. I think they could have done something a bit more iconic. It was just a little dull.

Dreamqueen · 17/09/2016 08:03

Morning( from bed also.)

Love the date night outfirt QueenC I really want some silver shoes but need to be flat. I saw some gold ones in M&S but they looked a bit garish & were quite plastic looking.

I agree Kitty , Blair does have that totally royal/stylsh look.

Should get up & go for a walk but I'm procrastinating on here. Since the dog went home my number of steps has dramatically reduced. Detox diet is going well so far but will be glad to get to the end of it.(plus I've had not alcohol and none on the horizon this weekend)

QueenCobalt · 17/09/2016 08:03

Love kate moss outfit here

FedupNagging · 17/09/2016 15:44

Love the vintage blouse Kate Moss is wearing-especially the sleeves. In fact, love the whole outfit.

Just about to go and get my hair done for a ball we're going to tonight. Painted nails a midnight blue last night and have dusted off the silver dune heels. Looking forward to a glass of champagne as not had a drink since last Sunday Shock

justasecond · 17/09/2016 17:47

I can make the MU too Smile will be lovely to see everyone again and meet the first timers too. I was a bit nervous but everyone was so welcoming and friendly.
lots to catch up on:
Love the bag haul happy totally Envy and judging by your links I am sure you are super stylish,
I really like that dress mara I can see you in it and the colour is gorgeous. Not sure whether it will work for such a glam event though?
Watched both parts of the vogue doc. The documentary maker came across badly like he had an agenda to expose scandal that wasn't there. I liked the woman explaining the vetements jeans!
Having thought about my a/w wardrobe I think I need some black or burgundy patent loafers will prob go for russell and bromley but I hate paying their prices Blush

Dreamqueen · 17/09/2016 18:24

Love your nail colour Fedup hope you have a lovely evening.

Pistols question please? Shop I know you have pistols, hope someone can advise.

The zips have come undone a couple of times while I've been walking. First time I thought i hadn't done the zip all the way up. I wore them most of the afternoon around the house & they seemed ok (ish) zips came down a little bit. I phoned Acne & they said to come into store & they will look at it happening. Guarantted they will be fine when I get there & it's quite a long journy for me to Dover St.

Has this happened to anyone else? If they'd been cheap I wouldn't bother but they weren't.

shopafrolic · 17/09/2016 18:34

Dream I've been back in my Pistols for the last few days. The zips do come down a little way (perhaps 0.5 - 1cm) as I wear them but I quite like that as I tend to wear them very casually. They never undo any further than that. Hope that helps?

Dreamqueen · 17/09/2016 19:09

Thanks Shop
Will monitor them over the next week. I don't mind them coming down a little bit but on was down halfway & DP pointed out that I hadn't done it up. Will wear them out & about tomorrow, hoping it was a one off. Must say, they're very comfy.

shopafrolic · 17/09/2016 19:26

I love mine. Wear them hard. Trying to remember when I bought them. Think this might be their third AW? They still look good. Would definitely buy again but halfway doesn't sound good so definitely go back for advice.

shopafrolic · 17/09/2016 19:27

I typed a message for the newbies about the MU but lost it. Long and the short. We don't bite, we're all normal (but fabulous) and any butterflies you feel will get drowned in prosecco. Come. You won't regret it.
