My samples and decants arrived from Crystal Flacon this morning. SoTD started as Wode, which is woody and very dry (bitter, myrrh) indeed. I think perhaps better for winter, but good although it faded off quickly. Thought I had overdone it to start with but DS didn't comment in the car, so it can't have been horrendous. Showered after walking the dog, and now I whiff of Lonesome Rider -- my other sample. It is reminiscent of Lonestar Memories, as promised, especially the resin-y tar element, but it dries down to a soft leather and is a lot less butch cowboy. It would never be a full bottle, or even a big decant for me. None of the Tauers has been a love of my life, yet (there are lots to go!)
But the decants are PdE Equistrius (iris and leather, with hints of cocoa) which will be an autumn and winter favourite, and Vetiver Tonka (smells just as it says on the label) which is an all-time, anytime love.
Ohh, and it was a big birthday recently, and DS (17) gave me a bottle of Iris EDP, which has been my obsession of this summer, as well as a handful of sample sprays of the flankers he sweet-talked from the sales lady (who also gift-wrapped it for him!) So I feel very spoiled!
