I hope I have remembered the chosen title correctly - I have used Crem's title (think it was Crem's) as the old thread is full.

Herbs - will be fab to have lots of time en famille in the summer but eek re new job on horizon.

Inspired by CV and Rose I have put 10 things on Ebay. They range from size 10 to 16. WTF.

Boris as PM is a very good reason for voting remain....

hattymattie · 11/06/2016 18:22

Herbs take two herbal Nytol, one alone is not enough - when I am desperate I resort to the chemical Nytol.

In S&B - the presales have started here. I have found sandals I like that are compatible with my achilles tendon problem - neither too high or too low that I quite like, so result. Not convinced about the electric shock treatment I am receiving for them at the moment as they are still sore.

hattymattie · 11/06/2016 18:24

I have to choose a box set - Happy Valley or Line of Duty?

herbaceous · 11/06/2016 18:48

Dad (x400): 'everyone warm enough?'

I know this is because he isn't, and wants me to out the fire on, but the fact that he'll never ask for something directly has always enraged me I pretend I don't know what he's getting at. Petty? Yes.

Don't worry - I did turn it on in the end. Not a total bastard.

herbaceous · 11/06/2016 18:50

Re boxed sets, I say Line of Duty. But then I've never seen Happy Valley.

Collymollypuff · 11/06/2016 19:12

Both are brilliant, Hatty. Neck and neck. I could not choose. See what other crepeys say.

Cremo · 11/06/2016 19:57

Ooh difficult q Hat. I'd say given thy Yoksheere roots, 'appy Valley.
LOD fab also, not least cos it's filmed in Belfast.

Continuing to endure today. Herbs, hope you are managing to do same.Sad

bigTillyMint · 11/06/2016 20:05

No idea Hatty - never watched eitherBlush

Keep smiling through, HerbsWink

Been to see my lovely colleague who has lost her mum. Sad brave girl - she is being as much of her usual upbeat self as she can.

Rosebag · 11/06/2016 20:46

I've seen Happy Valley. Superb acting....but it's anything but happy, of course.

Keep going herbs You're doing an amazing job in very difficult circumstances. BTW we had a holiday in Calvi, Corsica quite a few years ago...the DC were young...primary school age. Lovely, lovely place... here I had a browse and they're still doing the apartments we stayed in...
Apartment Murier

Crem I can imagine how you feel about DD's shaved head. Sad But it's designed to shock, isn't it. I imagine you will deal with it in the manner in which you have dealt with everything. Beautifully. Thank god hair grows back. Flowers

CV actually I can understand why your DS just wants to stare at a youtube video. I think they get saturated. DD has had one and a half days off revision after the maths calculator paper. Now we are up to our eyes in RE revision but the end is in sight and I'm so relieved that her place for next year is now secure. And DD is dead chuffed that one of her BFF's has also got in, so they'll start together. and maybe, just maybe I'll begin to have a life

DH has gone off to friends to watch the match. I am deciding what to watch on Netflix. Hmm

More S&B news... this dress arrived, which I ordered for the religious service prior to the party (when I'm wearing the silver dress). I was a bit dubious about the yellow, but they'd sold out of the colour way I wanted. Actually, it's really lovely and the shape is so good on me. This is another brand which is so good for ample hips and arses). I have to wear a hat for the service, and have a lovely straw boater which looks just right. Pleased. Smug.

CointreauVersial · 11/06/2016 21:02

Another lovely dress, Rose - that will really suit your colouring. I must have missed the bit about what the event is....

DH and I watched both LoD and HV, and HV definitely gets our vote. Much more...earthy. And Sarah Lancashire is fabulous in it. LoD was a little bit far-fetched, and I really didn't warm to any of the characters.

Have just gone to heaven and back, thanks to a Lidl Chocolate Fondant (featuring in their French Food week). 45 seconds in the microwave, scoop of vanilla ice cream. O.M.G.

herbaceous · 11/06/2016 21:40

Lovely frock, Rose. I'm so jealous of you having opportunities to wear such delights.

All our clothes are in a massive pile on the bedroom floor, pending completion of wardrobe. I'd imagine they'll be there until summer is ended, and I won't have worn any of my summer frocks.

Thanks for props. I have now established night carers, plus someone coming in three times a day, for next week. I think this should do. Carer is here putting them to bed. She asked dad 'can you do your teeth and everything yourself?'. and was treated to a cross 'of course I bloody can'. This from the man who forgot whose garden he was in earlier. Clue - it was his own. I guess it's pride, etc...

Right. I'm going to bed. With my nytol, bach rescue, and Celia Imrie book. I reckon if I go now, even if I get woken up a few times I'll get my eight hours. Six would do. It's like having a newborn again.

Realised I'm starting teaching a new course on Monday morning, and am totes unprepared. Still, fuck 'em. For £10 a day I'll just sit there and show them some videos.

herbaceous · 11/06/2016 21:46

Oh and re Calvi, looks lovely! And they have availability! Have forwarded to him with the money.

Auriga · 11/06/2016 22:51

To anyone who is a) in need of comfort and distraction and b) able to leave the house, I recommend Love and Friendship, the new film based on Jane Austen's Lady Susan. It is ravishingly beautiful, quietly hilarious and has glorious music. I want to see it again. Smile

CointreauVersial · 12/06/2016 00:20

More distraction - have been chuckling at a few posts on this thread.

GiddyGiddyGoat · 12/06/2016 00:29

I loved that film Auriga! So funny and as you say, very charming. Been to the Barbican tonight to see Isabelle Huppert in Phaedra(s) - amazing and very powerful. I love going to the theatre when it's good - HATE it when it's not.
Sorry to hear about your poor back - do you know what has gone wrong and what can be done?

Herbs, you poor poor love.

Great news for your dd Rose - Phew!

Beauty, hope you and Addle are having fun? One year I'll make it!

Hi and greetings to everyone. Have been trying to keep up but not very successfully...

hattymattie · 12/06/2016 07:01

Mornin' all - have watched HV episodes one and two and even DH is hooked. He's good on Yorkshire accents because of GoT.

Rose - lovely dress.

CV - mine chill to youtube. DD2 has Philisophy this week - a compulsory and heavily weighted part of bac which they study for one year and seems to be there just to pull them down. I hate this system.Angry

hattymattie · 12/06/2016 07:03

Er - that would be 'philosophy'.

What is with the Brits and Russians?

Lalsy · 12/06/2016 09:42

HV brilliant I thought - grim though.

CV, I am chortling at that thread - just seen the one about calculating the probability that uncool Mum ends up sorting out dc of cool Mum!

Gorgeous dresses, both, Rose. Inspired by you lot, and fuelled by free cake and prosecco (HM bday good time to go shopping) I tried some dresses on for the first time in years yesterday, with some success, and then went home to watch Wales win GrinGrin.

The carer plan sounds good, Herbs. I hope you and Crem both have rather better days today.

wordassociationfootball · 12/06/2016 11:31

One of the things I love most about our Crepey threads is when someone who has Been There, advises someone who is There to take a larger dose than is recommended of something, cf Hatty to Herbs on Nytol

Herbs, how did you sleep, you poor dab?

Girls - yesterday nearly killed me but thank God, unlike the rain, which bucketed, the PMT stayed away. Bouncy castle. Pouring rain. 24 11 year olds. Mostly boys. One or two quite wild. Small garden.

We decided the best thing to do was go on the move. Some had bought water guns. DH had great idea of splitting into two teams and going the top and the bottom way to the local rec and meeting in the middle for war. We took two full watering cans and got to it. I joined in chucking around clumps of mown grass. After about quarter of an hour, DH went back to cook sausages and it was actually quite nice to just surrender and stand there in the rain watching them run around having fun and receiving late arrivals, one of whom had a 2 litre bottle of Fanta that went in the water guns once the ammo ran out. The tricky bit was when we got back pre-hot dogs. I thought everyone would be calmer but they got all ramped up and when the girls were in dd's room changing into dry clothes the boys barged in and something of DD's got torn and she got tearful. BUT all came right and there was some sun and the second a parent arrived I hit the wine and a few people stayed for all the footie and more people came and I had a great chinwag with a friend I really needed to catch up with and all was exhausting and well.

And I have to say, DH and I are back to getting on famously which is most comforting as he is a good 'un and I do fancy him.

Beachy - how was your day and night???????

Rose - I too send my relief and congrats to you and DD. Onjenu is great. I appear to have ordered a dress covered in dragons which if it works will be ideal for both sis's 60th and the party at an upcoming conference.

MrsSchadenfreude · 12/06/2016 11:48

I am contemplating A & E or perhaps the Urgent Care place at Guy's as I stubbed my toe on a box this morning and it is red, swollen and Sticking Out At A Funny Angle. It is also very painful. Dr Google seems to be divided on whether this merits a visit to the Urgent Care Centre or whether I should be stoic, laugh merrily and tape it to its neighbour. I have to say, it doesn't look very well.

bigTillyMint · 12/06/2016 12:11

EEEEk, MrsS! Get to A&E asap.

WAF, sounds like a very successful dayStar

Herbs, how are things your way?

addle · 12/06/2016 13:02

Spectacularly wonderful time chez Beachy! Everyone lovely and friendly including to my DS who went on his own. Glorious garden, good weather until this morning. Wonderful bar, food and drink. Really could not have been nicer. Thank you so much Beachy

bigTillyMint · 12/06/2016 13:09

Sounds lovely - well done Beachy!
And well done your DS, Addle!

MrsS, are you at an 'ozzy yet?

addle · 12/06/2016 13:12

ps, also top quality dogs

Blackduck · 12/06/2016 13:22

WAF I recall a party like that..... bouncy castle in the rain :)

CV that thread is hilarious, but isn't helping me get my application done!
