Can't wait for MU either. I'm on a really early train 5am alarm because I'll need to blow dry, plan up snooze on train I think I get in at about 9.30 hoping to do a bit of shopping beforehand.
Linus I doubt you'll shop afterwards, you'll want to stay I always do, then get about tubes, end up hailing a cab and running/hobbling along station platform.......

And another thing ....I've actually fallen in LOVE with Kat's Does my bum look 40 in this? red leather Gucci loafers........ Could be dangerous if I could fine where she got them, am rather obsessing about them infact

blair I think linen trousers are a good idea. Depending on the cut they can be quite smart. Maybe with a silk camisole and a jacket for evenings?

I have been improving my diet and have lost nearly 1 stone so far, weight that had crept on over the past year. My clothes are fitting better which is making me more enthusiastic.

Linen type trousers may be the answer, thanks fedup and Linus! I had some wide leg white ones as a teenager probably see through. I will have to see whether any of the shops have them, and resign myself to ironing in the hotel :P

Well done Topaz! You've spurred me on to do the same, am in the process but only 2 weeks in and not really seeing the results yet. My only saving grace on the weight front is that I refuse to buy the next size up so have to react when the jeans start to pinch .

Linus feel the same re my ootd so won't describe either. Only good points are Marant tan boots and bright blue Stella wool jacket, both are great for keeping warm without looking wintry in these non-Spring temperatures.

Dry love the red loafers, they would look amazing on you. More than happy to meet you at Gucci pre-mu for a trying-on session .

Shop I know what you mean. Dh has gone from constant travelling, often only home at weekends for the last 20 years to now working for himself and is home virtually all the time. getting under my feet. Hope your dh recovers soon. How is your df?

Thank you Fedup and thanks again for the linen trousers idea - I found some really nice ones in, surprisingly, Monsoon. This is them. I tried short and regular length and the regular length touched the floor on me and looked good with my Stans :)

I tried on some other stuff in H&M but it was all crap! It's so hit and miss in there.

Leaving in an hour and a half, time to chill, yay.

Adidas are going to refund me for my squeaky Stans so I have ordered these instead. Am praying they won't squeak as if they do they'll go straight back. Really want them to work as the pony skin makes them a bit more suited to my bonkers side.

Thank you everyone for your comments. Having had previous success with the 5:2, I am doing the new Michael Moseley blood sugar diet, which is a low-cal, low-carb Mediterranean diet. After the first few days of carb withdrawal, I have found it really easy and am really enjoying the food. (And I am allowing myself at the weekends as well as a couple of squares of dark with my nightly ). My trousers today were too loose, so if I manage to keep it up, I will need to do some shopping.

I'm looking forward to the weekend. DH has been away all week and will be back. DS is coming home for the weekend and we are all going to visit DD at uni and take her out for lunch (she is in the run up to her finals and working hard). I will have to make careful choices from the menu!
