Come and chat about fashion, make up and anything glittery and frivolous. We'll take your bad hair day seriously and you never have to apologise for a new bag Grin

And if you happen to know where I can find comfortable but stylish trainers in kakhi or dark brown you are particularly welcome (Blatant abuse of thread setting up privileges) Wink

Evening all. Photo shoot this morning was fun at Luton Hoo (our local swanky hotel). I wore grey J Crew v neck tee, black R&B skinnies, black Zara suit jacket and black Sam Edelman Karen boots with bright red lips to detract from knackered face. Apparently they got the pics they wanted so it went well. Grabbed a quick lunch with DS and DH and then went to the hospital. Tough afternoon. Am finding I don't have the emotional energy to be a mum at home. Was furious when I got back at 6.30pm and DS was only just eating tea (an hour too late). I suppose I should be grateful he's being fed but I don't want to have to worry about DS when DH is in charge. Need to adjust my expectations.

AmberNectarine · 19/03/2016 20:32

Oh shop don't worry about DS, he'll be fine in Daddy's hands - my two always love a day with DH - less routine but almost certainly more fun.

Off out to a St Patrick's day party in a green off the shoulder bodycon dress, black Dolce cage heels, black Chanel and gunmetal Tiffany cuff. Bare legs cos I'm brave Smile

Have a lovely evening all!

shopafrolic · 19/03/2016 20:51

Thanks Amber have a fab night

VivaVegas · 20/03/2016 07:47

Just marking place, have been lurking rather than posting, going through a very busy time; hating working full time, not sleeping well again and not buying anything. Just need to let it pass and get me back!
Thoughts with those going through difficult times, makes my current down state seem insignificant .FlowersWineCake

QueenC · 20/03/2016 09:02

shop I used to get annoyed sometimes with dh at not sticking to my routine but at the end of the day you just have to let him do things his way he'll soon realise when he gets tears/tantrums because of hunger/tiredness. Hugs.

Ive been looking at new in stuff but not feeling very inspired to link much.

I slept for 10.5 hours. Utter lush.

QueenC · 20/03/2016 09:05

Ooh, HN has some better stuff...

for shop

QueenC · 20/03/2016 09:12

for amber

Stokey · 20/03/2016 10:08

I love that Mischief sweatshirt QueenC

Your outfit for the shoot sounded perfect Shop. As others have said, try not to worry too much about DS and his routine. Think of it as quality Daddy bonding time, they tend to be more lax anyway.

Love the sound of the green bodycon dress too Amber.

Dh has just taken kids to children's party this morning ( I did one yesterday afternoon) so I get to lounge in bed - score - and meet them for lunch. Then back for egg decoration for school competition tomorrow. I do hate arts & crafts with a vengeance. I'll be wearing "Winging It" to reflect reality.

Stokey · 20/03/2016 10:09

oh and Flowers for vegas, not sleeping sucks.

MarshaBrady · 20/03/2016 10:17

Shop I seemed to have missed this, what was the shoot?

Vegas awful when you get into a negative spiral. I hope you can break out of it soon.

FedupNagging · 20/03/2016 10:23

Here you are! Thanks Lib for the new thread; no doubt you're loving having your family home again.

Stokey I've met you and yes, think you'd suit a 'mob'

Dry gorgeous dress and agree with others, black shoes.

Shop pleased the shoot went well - a brief distraction for you. Luton Hoo is on my wish list but not managed to get there yet. Must try harder!

So my Hush order arrived and the only dress I'm keeping is
this dress. Dh thinks it looks a bit like a nighty Hmm - what is the MNV opinion?

As predicted, the neckline didn't suit me on the others - American football linebacker anyone?

Dreamqueen · 20/03/2016 11:46

Fedup I love that dress but couldn't wear it myself beacuse I'm far too short.

Karcheer · 20/03/2016 14:42

The dress is lovely, very swishy, but would swamp me.

Karcheer · 20/03/2016 14:45

Has anyone used anything like borderlinx to ship something from the US? Was it ok?

shopafrolic · 20/03/2016 16:41

Marsha family photo shoot to be in a friend's brochure for his new business venture. Have had a day with DS and DH before heading to do the evening shift at the hospital. DM is ill with a cold now so unable to go to hospital until 48 hours symptom free - nightmare.
Hope everyone has had a fab weekend.

MarshaBrady · 20/03/2016 17:29

Shoot sounds great Shop, oh no about your mum, must be stressful for all of you Sad

Karcheer I haven't.

Fedup if you love it keep it, I don't think it would be right for me, but I think it's one of those things that can look good

Drywhitethanks · 20/03/2016 18:12

Gosh Shop your DM is ill now, poor you. Strength my friend. You sounded v chic in your photo shoot .

So going to try dress with black Whistles courts and silver bag (is that what you think?)

Started working FT in sept having been SAHM and then pt . Did everything domestic and didn't mind. DH works long hours and away quite a bit. Am struggling. Have got a cleaner which has helped but it came to a head when I forgot our niece' s birthday ive always done all birthdays etc. DCs are teens and quite able to help, which they do, am trying to delegate more, but because I've always done everything it's taking ajusting to for everyone. Came home from day at spa, no milk , bread off etc........juggling is hard.

Moan over

Drywhitethanks · 20/03/2016 20:23

What about these shoes with my dress and silver clutch? Has this style had its day?

libertydoddle · 20/03/2016 20:57

Not sure about that dress fedup. I would need to see it on.

Dry it must be seriously hard work doing all that. Have you had a chat with DH about it? As well as a cleaner I highly recommend finding someone to do the ironing. All my nieces and nephews in fact all my family are totally used to getting cards and presents weeks late from me Blush. Actually I think they might like it as the later I am the better the gift is to ease my guilty conscience.

Is great having DD and DH home but I am exhausted. DD has not allowed me out of her sight all weekend.

Drywhitethanks · 20/03/2016 21:56

That's sweet about DD Liberty

VivaVegas · 20/03/2016 22:51

I like those shoes Dry.
I have just ordered these Cobalt shoes in a bid to cheer myself up!
I'm struggling too at the moment Dry. Have always worked full time other than mat leave but work is very full on, an hours commute each way, young dependent DC and DH who works long hours but when at home doesn't do anything unless I ask him to. On top of work and running the house (we do have a cleaner and shopping delivery) I'm training for a marathon, decorating after our building works last year and today have been trying to get the garden tidy as the weather was nice. I'm frazzled! I could just really do with a month off work to get the house/garden sorted instead of trying to fit it in at weekends or in the evenings. I just feel I don't stop or get any time to myself unless I'm in bed (like now). My rant over!
Bloody hell, it's no wonder I don't sleep!

libertydoddle · 21/03/2016 07:18

Vegas I feel shattered just reading that. Is there any way you can negotiate one work from home day a week? I find wfh days great for things like getting laundry done and paying bills / home paperwork and you gain a couple of hours from skipping the commute. Are you doing the London marathon? Lovely shoes. The type that make you smile when you see them on your feet Smile. Come to the next MU if you can for a blow out and a total DH and DC free prosecco soaked zone!

One thanks for the tip on the skirts - I pass a Primark later today so will pop in.

Dry DD is being very sweet (and occasionally a bit angry!). She is good as gold and has coped very well with being away. But she is clearly very happy to be home. All the toys have been hugged and played with and she keeps doing little happy sighs and saying things like 'I love my bedroom' Smile

Drywhitethanks · 21/03/2016 07:46

Love little people

Stokey · 21/03/2016 09:57

Since I've stopped working, I find it hard to remember how I coped working even 4 days a week, hats off to all of you managing - it's really tough balancing so many things.

It's one of the things I found so frustrating about looking for work, how little flexibility there still is available for working mothers, society really needs to figure it out but guess it's not going to change while we have rich white men in charge

Vegas we have a gardener, it's a luxury but he does 2 hours twice a month in the summer and once a month in winter and it really helps. Could you also delegate some set weekly tasks to Dh? Like cooking dinner or doing washing up or putting kids to bed, at least once or twice a week to give you a break? Love the cobalt shoes.

I like the Hush dress fedup, there's quite a few summer dresses on the Outnet today too, a striped Petit Bateau one, a grey Splendid one - could see Shop in this - or black and white stripes from Kain, who I've not heard of but looks nice. I also like this grey by Marlene Briger one.

Thanks for the Mob advice, going to go for it tomorrow Eek!

Karcheer · 21/03/2016 12:00

I don't work nor do have children. I have no idea how you can work full time and have children.
Mind you, my time management has gone to poo since giving up my very stressful more than full time job. Can't believe I used to commute to Europe twice a week. I definitely used to get more done at home though :/
