I'd like to talk about my tits. And other people's tits. I'd like to start a Tit Thread.

I bra intervened myself with the help of a MN thread from aaaages ago I found on google.

I've changed size shape, not loads, but enough for my bra to be tight. Had cup spillage, digging in around the back, all a fucking disaster.

I was uncomfortable, my back ached and my boobs were deeply miserable.

Current bras were pretty threadbare anyway and the knickers weren't much better. It all needs replacing.

Bought a new bra. Lovely. Fits beautifully. Ordered more. Found a company called Curvy Kate and am already a fan.

I am once again at peace with the world. Bras and boobs are now my new hobby.

However, whilst browsing online for bra advice I came across loads of sites saying the bra measurey ladies in shops just say anything to get you to buy stuff and catalogue/website models are nearly ALL wearing the wrong sizes in pictures.

Is this true?

Is there a conspiracy?

I'm fascinated!

Haha, I just had to reply , love the title of this thread ! Made me chuckle, I wanna talk tits, bless ya.
Well , I think all shops have different sizes, I have no idea what is the right way to measure, I have smallish boobs & after 3 bouts of breastfeeding could use a little enchantment in the booby department.
I have prob always worn the wrong size, I measure 31 in on body & 36 around the boob, what am I , you tell me ?............ I usually wear a 34 c or a 32 d.
Good luck with your tit info quest !!

stumblymonkey · 07/03/2016 17:46

When I was at uni I was a tit measurer as my part time job!

I can confirm that we didn't receive any kind of incentive for sales. In fact it's pretty rare to receive a sales incentive in a retail store so there is no motivation for them to sell you the wrong sized bra.

HTH

MargotLovedTom · 07/03/2016 17:46

Let's talk about tits, baby Wink. I went from a 38E to 34G after staging my own intervention. Yes, the cup fits better but the back fat....Shock.

Wagglebees · 07/03/2016 18:32

Let's talk about you and me. Let's talk about all the good tits and the bad tits, that may be...

The models on a lot of sites are definitely wearing the wrong sized bras. Way too small usually. There's also been an increase in using women who have had breast enhancement surgery, which is fine generally but when you're trying to find a large cup (ish. 28-30ff) bra, it's hard to judge fit when their boobs would be that shape without a bra.

stumblymonkey · 07/03/2016 19:47

I definitely have to check out Curvy Kate though....hopefully they fit gigantic bosoms with world domination plans larger breasts?

InQuiteAPickle · 07/03/2016 19:54

Thanks Op, a light bulb has just gone off in my head.

My back has been really aching me recently and I've been blaming my chair at work, so much so they've bought me a new one.

Although, I've put on a bit of weight recently and all my bras are a little tight. I don't want to buy new ones as I want to lose weight and go back to how they were.

It's not my chair is it? It's my fucking BRA! Sad Blush

Maybe I do need to invest in some new ones.

msrisotto · 07/03/2016 20:05

I'm sad because i've lost weight (yay!) but now my old favourite bras don't fit. Sad Then they discontinued the style and the replacements don't fit. Boo. I hate bra shopping.

TipBoov · 07/03/2016 20:07

I struggle so much with knowing what size I am, because I don't have must tissue on the underside of the breast.

I do need a bra intervention though, I keep meaning to sort it out!

KingJoffreyLikesJaffaCakes · 07/03/2016 20:08

Yes, Curvy Kate do larger sizes. I'm an F and they've catered for me admirably. Pretty sure they go up to a JJ.

Also bought a few from George at ASDA but most of the larger sizes were minging. Got a few nice ones. Maybe worth a look.

The bra intervention was awful for me. I don't have much fat on my top half and since having children my ribs have never un-flared. The bra intervention size was agony. M and s measuring size is lovely Smile so I suspect it is very personal

minipie · 07/03/2016 20:12

Joining thread. I've just finished BF forever (2 DC, BF for a year each) and my boobs are a shadow of their fo

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 07/03/2016 20:13

Love tits. Love my saggy swingy crepey bosoms.

I always buy my bras from the same store. It's a Canadian shop and they have different sizes there so I wouldn't even know where to begin over here. Oh hang on, that's not quite true. I went to Bravissmo once and the sales girl sold me a bra that was so tight I could barely breathe by the end of the day on the first day I wore it. God knows why I bought it in the first place!!!

Roseberrry · 07/03/2016 20:14

I always get measured as a 34B, every single time. Yet my boobs are teeny weeny, you could almost mistake me for a man if you were squinting and a b cup is massive on me.

Tbh I only wear bras to make it look as if I actually have some boobage.

MidnightVelvetthe5th · 07/03/2016 20:17

I had a voucher emailed to me from Triumph and dp thought I had 10% off a car! Probably the first man ever to be pissed off about boobs :)

ouryve · 07/03/2016 20:21

All my favourite bras are curvy kate.

32GG. Last time I was this weight, pre-kids, I had M&S 38C!

For some reason, I never could stand wearing underwires, back then Hmm

ouryve · 07/03/2016 20:22

Roseberry - DH measures 34C!

UmbongoUnchained · 07/03/2016 20:22

My tits are fantastic. 🍒

Peaceandloveeveryone · 07/03/2016 20:22

I had a reduction in January and went to get measured in rigby & pellor, then triumph half an hour later in bluewater. The triumph shop was useless, the women asked me what I was before the reduction, I said a K size. So she brought me a K size Confused. She said I was 40K, R&P said I am 34H or 36G dependent on bra.

Peaceandloveeveryone · 07/03/2016 20:23

Curvy Kate didn't fit me very well.

stumblymonkey · 07/03/2016 20:25

While we're talking about tits....I'm a 38GG.

I've not yet had DC as we're currently TTC #1, I'm planning to BF if I can. Can someone tell me what to expect to happen to my tits?

Talk to me people. What will they be like 'after'. I imagine some kind of post-apocalyptic state, am I right?

Roseberrry · 07/03/2016 20:29

Oh god, even a man has bigger boobs than me!! I'm curious to know how he knows this though, did he go get measured at m&s?! Grin

stumbly it totally depends on the woman, everyone is different. A good idea would be to look at what your mums boobs are like and what her mums boobs were like, most women tend to follow their mums body shape.
They probably won't be the same after feeding but it's so worth it if you can manage it.

Roseberrry · 07/03/2016 20:31

In fact my sister has the same boobs as me and we both have 2 kids. She didn't breastfeed at all but I did with both of mine.
Saggy boobs must be in our genes.

BarefootAcrossHotLegoPieces · 07/03/2016 20:31

Rose, if M&S measured you then you are in the wrong bra.

I predict your post intervention size to be a 30E.

What's your dress size?

OP, I love curvy Kate.

ouryve · 07/03/2016 20:32

I measured him, roseberry. Partly to illustrate how ridiculous M&S measuring is on most people!

achillesratty · 07/03/2016 20:48

I recently measured myself for a new bra following advice on MN, was stunned to find I measured as 36HH, I had been wearing 38E ! The difference is amazing, no more side boob, less pain between my shoulders and neck and I look slimmer. Stumbly I breast fed both my children and my boobs didn't seem to suffer, gravity and age has taken it's toll much more than b/f did !
