SOTD: L' Artisan Premier Figuier, thank to the recommendation of some of you clever folks.

MissBattleaxe · 22/03/2016 12:06

A viper venom perfume sesh would be fabulous and I'm sure Sarah would go for it with aplomb! In fact it sounds it already has a name.

cressetmama · 22/03/2016 13:40

Off to the osteopath this afternoon to have the fluids in my spinal column freed up and hopefully some lasting relief from the intermittent, but frequent, head pain that hits me when I bend forward. Scent therefore needs to be very mild, so I think it will have to be Eau d'Hiver. Nobody could object to that, surely?

I shall hardly be able to smell it, thanks to congested sinuses. Is it worth it? Do I care?

maryclarey · 22/03/2016 14:06

Yetanother Do you use body lotion? Dry skin shrugs off scent quickly, you may need to get yourself some nice unscented lotion :-)

SOTD Roja Risqué... the longevity on this is amazing!

SOTD - Miller Harris Terre de Bois via a sample in my desk (went swimming this morning before work and was perfumeless - horror!)

FrustratedFrugal · 22/03/2016 16:07

Feawen no need to rob your mother's stash, I'm just grateful that you reminded me of Oscar. I'll keep an eye on it, everyone I knew had a bottle of it in early 1980s.

Today, Diorissimo in the morning and Deseo during the afternoon.

MissBattleaxe · 22/03/2016 17:45

Feawen, you might like 4160 Raw Silk and Red Roses. It's red roses with oomph and I am head over heels for it.

MrsCocoa · 22/03/2016 20:59

SotD is the now tamed DIY leather monster. Opening is still a bit fierce (needs fine tuning) but it's settling down into something gently enveloping and powdery. This is so addictive! Anyone else playing with the 4160 workshop in a box - think someone posted the link here at the start of the year?

Feawen · 22/03/2016 21:36

MissBattleAxe that sounds marvellous, thank you for the recommendation!

Sooooo it looks like I can get two samples from the 4160 crimes of passion range for a modest sum. Any suggestions for what to order with raw silk and red roses? I'm not generally an orange blossom fan so I don't know that I'd like dirty honey.

Speaking of orange blossom: sotd is Chloe's Love Story, from my collection of samples. sniff ....something smells of rotten oranges. Oh, it's me. I don't think it suits me Grin

MissBattleaxe · 22/03/2016 23:52

Goddess of Love and perfume is my joint favourite from Crimes of Passion. It's a retro style chypre and very floral and ladylike.

LovelyFriend · 23/03/2016 10:35

My fav Crimes of Passion are Maxed Out (though it is ..... odd shall we say) and the Midnight Garden one. I need to start a special savings account to buy some big bottles of these!

LovelyFriend · 23/03/2016 10:56

oooh 4160 Tuesdays are doing another crowdfunding to make 4 new "Mystery" perfumes. I deeply regret not funding the Crimes of passion project - the scents were so much cheaper to buy blind. I'm happy to take the risk now.

Hope it's OK to link here:

cressetmama · 23/03/2016 11:44

Thank you for the link LovelyFriend! I have chipped in for the first round set on the strength of all the fabulous reviews for the Crimes of Passion. Roll on June! Crowd funding is such a brilliant concept, and being able to enable scent creations is a bonus.

SoTD is MMM Lazy Sunday Morning, which is a modern chypre and not floral at all, but it's quietly lovely, and rather like fresh crisp linens. I generally like the whole range, especially the original and Beach Walk (salty, with bergamot).

cressetmama · 23/03/2016 11:45

The osteopath seems to have cracked my problem too, which is well worth his charges!

MsBojangles · 23/03/2016 12:20

Yes, thanks for the link LovelyFriend, I've gone for 9ml of all four. Very exciting!

ThenLaterWhenItGotDark · 23/03/2016 15:30

Oh, I have s sample of Lazy Sunday Morning somewhere, I wasn't impressed at all when I first got it, but that was in the depths of November when you need something more oomphy. I might dig it out now it's a bit more springlike.

FrustratedFrugal · 23/03/2016 15:32

SOTD Eau Sauvage.

MrsCocoa · 23/03/2016 20:37

Thanks for link Lovely - very tempting.
SotD: Bois de Violette.

LovelyFriend · 24/03/2016 12:44

I'm off on holiday about to be let loose on all the perfume testers at Gatwick airport.
I make sure I get there early so I have plenty of time to sample scent while the DD run amok on the eyeshadow testers

MrsCocoa · 25/03/2016 18:08

Any thoughts on Bois Farine or Rose Privee? Bargains in TK Maxx today...

getoffthattabletnow · 25/03/2016 18:57

Bois Farine Is a nutty woody sandalwood. Its a comforting Scent to me but is very polarising I suspect. If you like Tam Dao and Samsara you will enjoy Bois Farine.
Rose Privee is very much Rose with lots of Basil which predominates.I prefer L Eau d'Artisan which is a lovely herbal refreshing summer spritz ( also on sale at Tk Maxx).
SOTD is Nahema with Vertine ( Friedemodin) earlier.

flightywoman · 26/03/2016 16:35

Sotd is my Au Dela Narcisse des Montagnes. I love it more every time I smell it!

shins · 26/03/2016 21:23

SOTD Premier Figueur. Spring is here, sort of. Not great longevity but very pretty in a green sharp way then sweetening out.

MrsCocoa · 26/03/2016 21:31

Thanks Getoff, went back and the reduced bottle of Bois Farine was still there, so I succumbed...

It's interesting! On me it moves quickly through peanut butter, school glue, wet plaster, and then becomes quite a cosy but airy skin scent. Good for the office in spring and autumn. The slight cool and metallic air, combined with other, warmer notes, does remind me of other L'Artisan perfumes. Perhaps it's just a generous hand with the Iso E Super?

cressetmama · 27/03/2016 13:02

I have been tempted by the reduced stickers but my local TKMaxx hasn't had any of the L'Artisans that I like. Dzing! has been conspicuous by its absence.

Easter scent is Jicky. Happy egg hunting everyone.
