ENABLERS! Angry

You should be thoroughly ashamed of yourselves, I'm going to be ordering samples all bloody night...thank you Wink

YetAnotherNC · 10/06/2016 18:29

I am another who can confirm that Beautyspin are very bad for the pocket....
SOTD massive spray of Rive Gauche, armour against ex-husband picking up children tonight for weekend! Still love it, but suspect I'd love the vintage more.
Tonight I shall be wearing Salome .... it's my go-to when I need to feel strong. It's gorgeous, totally eclipses most other stuff I have.

MsBojangles · 10/06/2016 19:47

Salome scares me, is it very feral?

SOTD was Pleasures, a total nostalgia trip for me, I remember when it launched - spraying myself liberally every time I walked past a Lauder counter.

SOTE is Seville, not sure if it's the humidity or what but this has really grown on me could still live without the lavender

LastGirlOnTheLeft · 10/06/2016 19:49

SoTD Hugo Boss for Women. I like it for the sole reason it makes me feel healthy and sporty and athletic!!Grin Even though I'm not really.

I ordered Fire last night on the strength of the amazing plaudits here. I CAN'T WAIT to try this!!!

cressetmama · 10/06/2016 20:05

LastGirl, it is very good. Cannot remember another scent that has been so universally praised; of course, it doesn't hurt that the price is so reasonable. If you should hate it, someone you know will love it!

ThenLaterWhenItGotDark · 10/06/2016 20:36

Obviously as soon as I find a retailer who will ship here (or when I hit the UK at the end of the month) I shall also buy Fire or I'll start to feel left out!

YetAnotherNC · 10/06/2016 20:37

MrsBojangles Salome is indeed feral, that's a very good way of describing it. Under the Rose, jasmine and carnation it's got a proper deep growl, and it frightened too me for ages. But it also is a proper old-style lady, rounded beauty and it entranced me and I loved it more and more. And now I figure it has its own kind of magic that lends me a bit of its animal-woman fierceness when I need it. It is one of only two fragrances I have felt the need to buy back up bottles of.

MsBojangles · 10/06/2016 20:42

I love your description, really intrigued now!

Don't think I have anything skanky like that, apart from an icky Jicky decant.

LastGirlOnTheLeft · 10/06/2016 20:58

Cresset I have a very strong feeling I am going to love it. Smile But if by some chance I don't I will pass it on to my mum. She loves perfume but doesn't like to spend money on herself.

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 10/06/2016 21:01

L'Air de Rien smells like Papier d'Armenie to me.

cressetmama · 10/06/2016 21:06

Seriously, I don't think anything has grabbed us perfumistas as unanimously as Fire. It seems to please us all, for £19.50 for 50ml. It's a first AFAIK, and I've been through several Blush perfume threads from 0-1000 posts!

LastGirlOnTheLeft · 10/06/2016 21:11

SOTN is L'air du Temps....I love wrapping this scent around me before bed. It is so comforting and relaxing...like your favourite pillow and blanket all in one. Love it.

LastGirlOnTheLeft · 10/06/2016 21:13

Cresset you are so right...I felt I was missing out so much so had to buy it!! GrinI can't wait to try this one.

MsBojangles · 11/06/2016 12:09

I had a little accident on eBay last night, a FB of Seville seems to have been purchased...I blame the dog Hmm

Anyway, it's a whopping 100ml and I'll never get through it all so if anyone wants decants, just let me know.

SoTD is more orange, my beloved Houbigant.

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 11/06/2016 12:26

SOTD is Cardinal by Heeley. Perfect for the muggy weather, really cuts through it. I smell like a lovely bonfire!

YetAnotherNC · 11/06/2016 12:46

MrsBojangles, I'd absolutely love a decant if you want to part with some.

Humpty I love Cardinal! Might have to go hunt out my sample. Thanks for the reminder.

MsBojangles · 11/06/2016 13:37

Ok, I'll PM you when it arrives and we can swap details Smile

cressetmama · 11/06/2016 14:16

MrsBojangles, I keep reading love and enthusiastic reviews for Seville but without an AP stockist locally, I have never tried. I too would love a sample to smell, or to come in on a split if that's how you prefer to play it. Very happy to help defray the dog's rash extravagance.... mine does the same sort of thing if she gets near the internet!

MissBattleaxe · 11/06/2016 15:12

LastGirl- I love L'Air du Temps. It's a classic. You've just reminded me I've run out.

MsBojangles · 11/06/2016 15:13

Hehehe, damn dogs and their over developed olfactory systems...he did get a rather good deal though so I'm not too cross. Let me know how much you want and we can sort something out - I'm a newbie at this so will follow your lead Wink

Lemon and Plum purse sprays arrived today, . Plum is rather nice but Lemon is a scrubber for me - like cheap washing up liquid and farts Shock

Fire is definitely the pick of the bunch.

wiltingfast · 11/06/2016 15:34

Oooh humpty I love Cardinal too! Have lost my sample however.

MrsB would love a sample of Seville if you don't mind posting to Ireland? Let me know Smile

V muggy here today, tried Safari first but it was way too heavy. You're right cresset hyacinth is v strong. Just not the weather for it, doused myself heavily in EA's Green Tea to compensate Grin

MsBojangles · 11/06/2016 16:16

wilting, I'd be happy to send if the PO allow it. I've sent perfume to NI before without any problems but not sure about the Republic.

teta · 11/06/2016 16:21

Curious about Lemon.I bought a bottle and kids and myself loved it.But Dh can't stand it - he just smells the bitterness in it .Now,i don't feel happy wearing it ( even though Dh dislikes all perfumes). He doesn't even like the perfumed diffusers I buy to disguise the smell of spaniel and 4 kids.
Sotd by Miller Harris is Fleur du Matin .Love this in summer and it isn't on the website any more.Hence I urgently bought a half bottle off ebay in case it's discontinued .

ThenLaterWhenItGotDark · 11/06/2016 19:38

I have just ordered about 10 smell-a-likes from Perfume Parlour in an attempt not to spend too much on "proper" perfume this month.

Sotd was Chanel 19 for the staff meeting with the HT and Seville (because of you lot!) this afternoon- it's muggy here, about 32 degrees and probably going to thunder so it seemed appropriate.

MissBattleaxe · 11/06/2016 19:53

Unfortunately Ireland counts as overseas, so it's not possible to post perfume there from the UK. N.Ireland is different though.
