Houbigants Orangers En Fleurs today.A very lovely Fragantican sent me a sample.I adore Orange Blossom and this is beautiful, enriched with the Ylang Ylang,Nutmeg and Tuberose. Its reminiscent of Songes in feel, though with more freshness than headiness.

MsBojangles · 08/05/2016 12:07

That sounds absolutely glorious, teta, I'm rather partial to all those notes.

cressetmama · 09/05/2016 13:32

The weather has returned to its grey default setting after a wonderful sparkling week of spring, during which my sweaters were mothballed. Now wondering if this may have been premature... and dithering about choice of scent for the day.

Actually, it's going to be Vetiver Tonka. There are about three squirts left, and it's a true love; I may buy more when I am in a big duty free area with the full Hermes range.

MsBojangles · 09/05/2016 16:51

Still glorious here, good excuse for Bronze Goddess. Feel free to laugh and point Wink

YetAnotherNC · 09/05/2016 16:57

Unintentional SOTD was Fracas. Applied liberally last night to make a crap night feel better. Then went for a run this morning. Was running along, sniffing and looking at the fields, wondering what the wonderful smell was, and then realised it was me! and running in the sunshine had reactivated all the tuberose and jasmine. It added a lovely dimension to my run. Probably not to be repeated - slightly bonkers and extravagant to apply fragrance purely for running!?!

cressetmama · 09/05/2016 17:12

Shock at the thought! BG sells by the tanker load so there's plenty of love for it. And lots of folk whose tastes are exemplary think it's the essence of summer beaches. It's just not me.

The Vetiver Tonka is comforting, soft and cosy, but light.

cressetmama · 09/05/2016 17:16

There's a place for bonkers and extravagant in tough moments, YetAnother. And you didn't apply it just to run, it was a scent sleepover and early morning delight, giving you a second wind of value.

YetAnotherNC · 09/05/2016 17:26

A scent sleepover, what a lovely way of putting it Cresset! Grin

MsBojangles · 09/05/2016 18:15

Not strictly perfume but I've found the most divine scented candles, I went for the hyacinth and it's stunning, Kew Gardens the good news is they're half the price of Diptyque!

Scent sleepover is a great phrase! Grin

cressetmama · 09/05/2016 20:21

My recent scented discovery is the St Eval Candle Company Rosemary & Bay reed diffuser. I love my bathroom every time I walk in! Wafts of resinous herbal aromas, and powerful but in the way of a pine wood in hot weather,. And it's better still because it's a Cornish company! I bought some scented votives at the same time, but have not lit one yet. Hawthorn & Briar, and Sea Salt , so will report back when I do; it seems like a gorgeous range. We don't see Kew Gardens products round here.

CointreauVersial · 09/05/2016 20:47

I love a bit of Bronze Goddess - I'm not ashamed to say it!

Candles sound heavenly. Cresset - I bought a St Eval candle when I visited Lost Gardens of the Heligan, but I gave it away as a present - fool.

SOTD is Lush All Good Things. Unlike anything else I have, and it evolves throughout the day.

wiltingfast · 10/05/2016 13:38

SOTD ma griffe Smile perfect for work

ThenLaterWhenItGotDark · 10/05/2016 14:17

SoTD Chanel 19.

I am such a creature of habit. Grin

MsBojangles · 10/05/2016 14:37

TK MAXX had Chanel 19 EDT last week. I restrained myself only because I wasn't sure if the EDT is the one I like, so not that virtuous really.

SOTD: Vintage Miss Dior

ThenLaterWhenItGotDark · 10/05/2016 15:03

It worries me when things I love almost more than life itself are found in TK Maxx. Scented Hound said the other week something about Chanel 19 "not selling very much" but Chanel being loyal to its brands keep it going.

DiggerDigsDogs · 10/05/2016 15:44

Hello, hope it's ok to pop in.

I finally tried Tom Ford cafe rose over the weekend. It smells lovely but lasted about 10 seconds on me. Really disappointed.

Does anyone have any good suggestions?
I like Chanel 5 Eau Premier, Chanel 19, Tom Ford Tabacco vanille and Tom ford plum japonais. Live in rural Australia so very hard to go smell at the shops.

Thank you Smile

wiltingfast · 10/05/2016 16:11

Hey I saw a great perfume ebayer based in Oz the other day, was looking for Santal Blush, I'll dig out the link for you... olivebenne is the seller

great reviews, looks like she sells the genuine article...

I loveMona di Orio vanille, chanel 19, cristalle, ninfeo mio, cuir de russie, 28 la pausa, dzing, Elizabeth Arden green tea, Guerlain chamade & vol de nuit, I assume you already know about fragrantica. I use that when trying to gauge whether I might like a perfume or not, I look for a high overlap perfume in the side panel.

I tried a great one from nose.fr - pc01 I think it was by biehl. My tiny sample is long gone alas!

Ms Bojangles can't believe you resisted! I'd love some C19 EdT... DH persists in buying me versions of sexy 212 for some reason Hmm I've another b'day coming, might tell him to get me either Chanel 19 or LADDM....

wiltingfast · 10/05/2016 16:12

Oops left out link to ebayer!

Blush

here you are

MsBojangles · 10/05/2016 16:24

It's sill there folks...19

They've got Premier Figuier too if anyone needs to stock up.

ThenLaterWhenItGotDark · 10/05/2016 17:36

wilting- I've still got 3/4 of my nose sample of that Biehl one. It did nothing for me. Too sweet and floral for me.

cressetmama · 10/05/2016 20:14

MsBonjangles..... enabler! Wearing my Halo, I am loving my fave cheap thrill... the R&G Osmanthus that I wear when I can't be bothered to think scent.

Sent you a packet ThenLater.... watch for the postie!

wiltingfast · 10/05/2016 21:03

Ah, it wasn't that floral on me then more warm spicy... Definitely sweeter than I normally go for ...

CointreauVersial · 10/05/2016 21:09

SOTD - Tauer Vetiver Dance. Soft, sweet vetiver that goes on and on!

MsBojangles · 10/05/2016 22:08

Haha, I'm on no buy, a proper one this time, so I want to live vicariously through everyone else's purchases Grin

MrsCocoa · 10/05/2016 22:14

For today's SotD I dug out an old favourite - Les Nuits D'Hadrien. Aromatic citrus on amber base. Under-rated!
