magimedi · 10/02/2016 19:33

Well, I've grabbed the bull by the horns & am leaping into the new thread........

Felt very sad no one else had started one whilst I scoffed dined.

If no one like the title I am more than happy to have it deleted & go with anything else.

DH has taken over the catering for the month of February......... the food is good but the angst is another matter Grin

Stropperella · 03/03/2016 21:08

Not to mention 2 hours' commuting time for practising each day. I am totes going to be smarming up to Vladimir

MrsSchadenfreude · 03/03/2016 21:19

Ya gavaryoo po russki.

I lie. But I do speak another Slav language.

I got a bonus today for "contributing to morale in the office". Luckily it wasn't morals. Grin

wordassociationfootball · 03/03/2016 21:24

A bonus! How lovely. Pleased for you Mrs S.

Mum came through fine. Talking groggy nonsense.

Sorry about your knee NU. Is the already replaced doing well?

Touch to SPD and damn its reappearance.

Lalsy · 03/03/2016 21:31

Crepeys, stop! Gin is really expensive in Iceland and only sold in government shops with funny opening times. We're gonna need another plan.....Piers Morgan (well known international relations expert) thinks Trump can knock (or possibly charm) Putin into line. Edinburgh (assuming Brexit triggers us losing Scotland and becoming effectively a one-party state)?

Love the dog/rodent stand off, Stropps. And I am sure you are right about dd and she will get stronger and better able to make decisions as she goes..

Herbs, you poor thing, I have heard it hurts like...well, like it sounds like it would. And NU, you poor thing too.

I am feeling better after my cold and trying not to wind ds up by making too many helpful suggestions about his future.

Lalsy · 03/03/2016 21:32

Cross posts WAF and MrsS, good news all round.

bigTillyMint · 03/03/2016 21:33

Whaaaaat Herbs? It made my insides go all funny just reading that!

Eeek ot the post Brexit/Boris/Trump/Refugees, etc crisis. NZ is looking goodSmile

Stropps, reports are a piece of cake - I use a very similar strategy Wink

MrsSGrin Indeed!

Well DM was like a kid on Christmas morning when I brought in her clothes from home/art stuff/newly bought clothes from M&CoSmile And it looks like she can move to a new room at the front and the lovely manager says I can bring in her bird table to put outside the window! I will also take in more stuff from her home to make it feel more like home.
If only the finances/legal stuff was so easy to sortConfused

Collymollypuff · 03/03/2016 22:16

Iceland has splendid horses, so I'm voting for there. Although they also like horses in NZ.

BTM, the bird table is a great idea. I can't tell you how much bird-watching meant to my dad as he gradually got less mobile. It's also a talking point. Something to look forward to, as the different birds visit.

Stropperella · 03/03/2016 22:26

Bum, just lost a long post through inadvertent clicking activity.
BTM, how lovely that your dm was so very pleased with your efforts. It sounds as though she is in a lovely home. Good luck with all the tiresome admin stuff.
Re: reports - I now don't know what I was fussing about. Daft.

WAF, great news re: dm. Hope she is up and running (not too fast) soon! Btw, my dcs are both mightily impressed that I know someone who writes shows for the tellybox. Grin

MrsS - well done on the selfless morale-raising activities. I'd steer clear of any office-based snogging - even in times of stress, it will only end in tears My Russian has previously mainly been limited to za zda-ró-vye and that kind of thing. However, the junior oligarchs are now schooling me in non-alcohol-fuelled interchanges, so I can start the school day with "Privyet" instead. Grin I do like a language that rolls its 'r's behind the teeth, rather than all that gutteral business - makes a nice change.

Lalsy, I'm up for Edinburgh. I even have roots there and everythink.

ps: ds's day as Katniss Everdene appears to have gone well.

magimedi · 03/03/2016 22:29

DS,who has lived in France for 10+ years, is taking out French citizenship in advance of the vote. Don't blame him.

BTM - it is worth 100,00000000000000 times any finance/legal that your DM is happy. Great news.

motherinferior · 03/03/2016 22:46

I had horrid SPD. Wrote about it for a prefer

motherinferior · 03/03/2016 22:50

I had horrid SPD. Wrote about it for a preggo mag and then talked about it on Wimmins Hour. It's apparently called pelvic girdle pain now. I'd get it checked out, Herbs, but you may need a Wimmins physiotherapist.

Mum's appointment apparently not great. Also talked to consultant myself. Apparently whole thing again disrupted by my dad though admittedly they were talking about DNR and the possibility of her dying in an ambulance. Still not exactly helpful, though.

bigTillyMint · 03/03/2016 23:01

WAF, glad your DM'S op went well.

MI, sorry your DF was self-centred.

DM was happy, but I'm under no illusions that she may well be moaning g tonorrowGrin Did I say that mums neighbour and my friends mum both got calls from THE friend and both were as ConfusedHmm as I was. She has still not replied to my text.

Another catch up this evening - meal out in favour pub with one of my best friends from sixth form/uni and some much needed Wine

Blackduck · 04/03/2016 05:58

Strops so very glad about DD and BTM about mum

MI that must have been a tough convo but your dad should be paired up with MrsS mum...

Herbs ouch, just ouch....

hattymattie · 04/03/2016 07:51

BTM - it must be such a relief to feel that DM is settled and in good hands.

Mrs S- well done on the office morale - did you bring in the odd bottle?

Today is the last day of the hols. It is tossing it down outside, I am going to try to go to gym but feeling very lazy!

NUFC69 · 04/03/2016 07:54

The sleet is going side wards across the window .... And DH won't be happy as the guttering is overflowing.

BTM, your DM's home sounds good. Can I suggest that if you are taking her bird table across that you buy a good supple of sunflower hearts for it. The range of birds I have since I did this is amazing: bull finches, chaffinches, green finches, siskins, goldfinches, plus all the usual ones. Everybody who comes spends ages gazing out of the window.

Rudy, great to see you! So sorry the fuck noodles are unravelling - it will be lovely to see you next Saturday and give you some RL support and Wine

Thanks NU - I will take DMs supplies of seeds today - can buy more when I come up next.

It is snowing here!!!

Blackduck · 04/03/2016 09:06

Oh Rudy - hope you are okay. I do know what you mean about not having much to give at the moment - I feel the same.

herbaceous · 04/03/2016 09:58

Flowers Rudy. Plus medicinal Wine. Also to you, MI.

MI - I just knew you'd be an expert in SPD! I find it annoying that it's been rebranded PGP. Which seems a much more general term for anything going wrong with the pelvis. SPD is that very particular fanny front pain. Which, bizarrely, has gone away today. It's as if something gets out of alignment, then clicks back in randomly. [vomit emoticon]

motherinferior · 04/03/2016 10:35

My first awareness of it was in an antenatal yoga class. Teacher recommended "keeping your knees together". Obviously could not resist pointing out it was a few months too late for that...

Commiserations to all dealing with fucknoodles today.

hattymattie · 04/03/2016 11:56

Rudy - hope you are OK - sending hugs and xx.

Have done gym - unexpectedly hard - I'm dead on my feet. DD2 has made pasta and the sun has come out. Otherwise, a generally pretty boring day!

CremoLafoam · 04/03/2016 12:01

Am with general opinion on Brexit ( the term make me feel smashy). Holding tightly on to Irish passport as opposed to British one. ( can have both here) if we left the EU in NI, the whole economy would collapse , so held up by Money from Europe that it is. Clearly some Don't agree unionists , but the less said about that the better. No brainer. Although I would add the fragrant Marine Le Penn into the Boris/ Trump/ isolationist scenario and you've got a Triple Whammy.Sadnothing like the Wrong People having access to the red buttons. Trump's success is terrifying me. Angry
I can recommend a nice arms length Caribbean state like Martinique for Crepey haven in dire circumstances. Plenty of access to rhum if not gin, and you can still retain your European passport and use euro. Lots of opportunity for naice houses and small businesses, while spending the afternoon on the beach. No need to learn Russian either, just a smattering of French verbs which will help in Carrefour.

CremoLafoam · 04/03/2016 12:10

Grin@ Katniss Everdene , Stropps.
Tis Dn's default as well.

bigTillyMint · 04/03/2016 13:11

Who is Katniss Everdene?

So back to the tip shortly then on to see mum and take her the bird table, some pictures and various other things.
Feeling exhausted - have had 2 appointments this morning and been to the solicitors for the third time in 3 days. Went to the post office (inside the Thornton shop) to send off the Attendance Allowance form and it was shut for refurbishment, reopening at 1pmConfused

CremoLafoam · 04/03/2016 14:56

Crikey BTM you will need a lie down after all thatWineyou should get a millionStarStarStarStarStar
