I know it might seem like we've nothing left to say but I'm sure we have :)

I have to tell you: Seville a l'Aube is on the TK Maxx website for half price - lots of other L'Artisan perfumes but that one is very special and I wore nothing else all summer!

SOTD: Cuir de Russie. Like a fuzzy hug with vague undertones of marauding Cossacks from the 19th century.

So what do we all think of the research that suggests fragrance is bad for us? Should I start a new thread?

MrsCocoa · 23/02/2016 20:13

Thanks All - not necessarily purple flowers (but was enjoying the kitsch matchy-matchiness of tying up dress and fragrance). Lipstick Rose sounds lovely get off - wondering if it's like Theo Fennell's Scent without the animalic notes?

Realise one of the things I enjoy about perfume is thinking about how it fits with the context in which it's worn. Not usually literally (although can see a fun project here...).

FrustratedFrugal · 23/02/2016 20:23

Cresset I'm not super worried. If you are worried about endocrine disruptors, you should also avoid you sofa (fireproofing chemicals), cashier's receipts (pthalates) and never eat soy (contain estrogen analogues). Life is short - Shalimar poisoning doesn't sound that bad Wink

I'm having withdrawal symptoms, spending the week with my parents, forgot to pack my perfumes.

YetAnotherNC · 23/02/2016 20:35

Shalimar poisoning sounds wonderful....Grin

MsBojangles · 23/02/2016 21:13

I didn't realise M&S had such a big selection, is there anything decent or is it all naffarma. 20% however, might ease the naffarama somewhat Blush

MsBojangles · 23/02/2016 21:20

Ignore the dunce in the corner, didn't realise it had already been discussed Blush

CointreauVersial · 23/02/2016 21:29

M&S do have a few decent lines - Fragonard, Crabtree & Evelyn, Nuxe (Prodigieux Le Parfum), Shay & Blue.....but not all in the 20% promo.

Oh no, Frugal - disaster!

SOTD Gucci Envy.

flightywoman · 23/02/2016 22:34

SOTD my beloved La Prairie Life Threads Platinum. It's getting very low now...

Waiting for my JHAS samplers to arrive, and I cleared a bit of space on the top of my drawers for scent so they aren't all crammed together.

LovelyFriend · 23/02/2016 23:43

Oh no frugal. I hope there is a Boots or dept store nearby.

MissBattleaxe · 24/02/2016 00:41

M and S is the best perfume shop in my town right now! Apart from TK Maxx, which I am studiously avoiding in case I accidentally buy everything.

The Perfume Shop and The Fragrance Shop are very meh and mainstream, but Marks and Sparks has got some absolute beauties.

cressetmama · 24/02/2016 14:06

Hope you have found something scented Frugal. I know how you must feel, because that was me last week. And thanks for the reassurance on the putative hazards of perfumed things. DH was cock-a-hoop when he read about it, mainly because he hates strong scents: we are not allowed lilies in the house!

MissBattleaxe · 25/02/2016 13:03

I've just received the Molton Brown Discovery Box from The Perfume Shop. It is divine!

cressetmama · 25/02/2016 13:46

YetAnother, I am enjoying Salome today. Thank you again. It has dried down and softened vastly from the first knickery whiff, but is very lovely. Wondering how disrupted DH's endocrines will be later....!

YetAnotherNC · 25/02/2016 16:34

Cresset I'm glad you're enjoying Salome, it is beautiful after the first few minutes of full on sexy-pants isn't it? It is my comfort scent at the moment. I need to read the article about the endocrine stuff. Could my wearing large amounts of perfume poison STBXH?!Shock

YetAnotherNC · 25/02/2016 16:35

Grr, strike through fail...

cressetmama · 25/02/2016 20:08

You might need to be in the same room.... how likely is that?!

cressetmama · 25/02/2016 20:12

Got two bottles of Whisky and water handwash delivered today (no bargains, paid full retail) but can hardly wait to break one open.

FrustratedFrugal · 26/02/2016 19:30

Finally got my perfumes back! Revelling in Musc Ravageur Wink

FrustratedFrugal · 26/02/2016 19:31

YetAnotherNC now that's a killer plotline. Try Poison?

YetAnotherNC · 26/02/2016 19:56

Cresset unfortunately we are still in same house. Not for much longer or I would definitely be seeing if Shalimar poisoning works.
Frugal that gave me a very much appreciated laugh, I will have to invest in some.... A friend used to wear it at school, put me off for life, but entirely appropriate! GrinGrin

cressetmama · 26/02/2016 20:02

Frugal is clearly bent on disrupting MrFrugal's glands ce soir Wink...... MCresset's were disrupted by Salome, but in the wrong way... we had a disagreement about voting in the referendum!

I have always thought scented gloves impregnated with an elegant route to murder... was this a Lucretia di Borgia trick? Or have I imagined it? Poison is almost foul enough to do the trick too!

cressetmama · 26/02/2016 20:03

Duh! Shoulkd read "impregnated with poison", obviously, but you all understood I know!

FrustratedFrugal · 26/02/2016 20:23

That would work too Cresset!

Does anyone else get the sidebar ad for Axe deodorants?

FrustratedFrugal · 26/02/2016 20:24

Find your magic Wink

CointreauVersial · 26/02/2016 22:50

I snagged me a decant of Encre Noire from eBay...it's nice, vetiver aplenty, but stays so close I hardly noticed it all day. I think I need to try it again, and concentrate!
