Ahhhhh, the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness...if for you that means the joy of cosy jumpers, retrieving your favourite coats and jackets from the back of the wardrobe and an excuse to buy new boots then this is the place for you Smile. Come chat about clothes, make up and accessories, budgets from Primark to Prada. Lurkers, newbies and old hands all welcome.

Meant to add that I watched the first House of DVF episode - it's another one of those 'all competing for the prize' type of programme, all bitchiness, backstabbing and tears Hmm

VivaVegas · 22/09/2015 22:35

Love the coatigan Stokey, looks very cosy.
I have these in two sizes at home navy boots like the colour and style as a bit different but I seem to be between sizes so brought both home to try on with different socks.

VivaVegas · 22/09/2015 22:39

I also got a really nice pair of black 'lift and shape' trousers from TK Maxx. Very slim leg, Jean style and cotton so smart/ casual for office based days at work. Perfect with loafers and a multitude of tops I already have. Wore them today and will be wearing them again tomorrow so they must be good.

shopafrolic · 23/09/2015 08:00

Not impressed with Matches.... Remember my MiH sweater that pulled after just two light wears?
Dear Shop

I hope you are well.

I can confirm we have received the return of your MiH sweater. However, we are
unable to issue you a refund on this occasion as the pulls have been created
by general wear and tear and we cannot be liable for pulls which have occurred
with wear.

We will send this piece back to the below address, unless otherwise stated:

Please feel free to contact me with any further queries.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind Regards,

M
Customer Care Assistant

Fedup I thought the DVF thing was awful - so bad for her brand I am so surprised she allowed it!
I watched Advanced Style on Netflix yesterday, there are quite a few good style films on there for me to plough my way through as I recover. Getting there slowly but still not wearing normal clothes yet. Track pants and no make up rule at the moment.
A friend picked up my new glasses for me and dropped them round last night - am pleased with my choice and DH likes them to so that's good.
Sorry not to be more involved. I find it difficult to focus on things for two long ATM. Love to all. Smile

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 23/09/2015 08:20

that's terrible Shop very poor service really. however, good news about glasses. hope you are getting enough rest Thanks

i've come down with the freshers flu, i told people not to come near me if they were sick and breathe on me haha. knew i'd come down with it, the collective soup of everyone's new germs is not a good thing for me and it's not unexpected for me to catch it, at least it's not real flu though and is just a virus which will pass in a few days

LinusLovesBretons · 23/09/2015 08:28

Morning!

Love that coatigan stokey I wear mine so much, if I see another one in a colour I like I will definitely buy it.

That is rubbish cs shop! Can you maybe leave a comment on their fb page or Twitter feed? Glad you're starting to feel better.

one you sound like my DC at the start of nursery and school. Snotty noses are guaranteed!

Stokey · 23/09/2015 09:23

Flowers Shop, it's hard not to rush the recovery, but enjoy lounging watching style flicks. Rubbish CS from Matches, unimpressive.

Nice boots Viva, I'm thinking maybe I'll go coloured this year rather than black.

Also stinking cold here One - feel terrible and DH left this morning for two nights away. Sending you hot lemon vibes.

Glad to hear you get god wear out of the coatigan Linus. Wish it was here already, would be perfect for today, bright & cold.

DDs are off school for Eid today, they're trying to persuade me to go to the zoo but can't face an hour's drive each way so am going for nearby farm & soft play instead. Hoping I can read quietly while they run wild Hmm.

FedupNagging · 23/09/2015 10:03

Phew! Shop glad it's not just me that thought that - whatever was DVF thinking?

Poor customer service from Mih too. Glad you're slowly recovering although sounds like it will take a while.

Today is definitely a coatigan day - if only I had one! i may head out to the shops if I get a chance later.

Hope you feel better soon One and Stokey - i seem to be getting a cold too Sad

BerniceBobsHerHairAgain · 23/09/2015 13:52

Hello all, have been off line a while so don't think I will be able to catch up!

One I'm really pleased you bought the bag - but sorry you have the flu.

Shop hope you are managing to rest as much as possible. Annoying CS from Matches.

Stokey I have just bought a long cardigan too - it is from the not very trendy at all woolovers but I sized up for a slouchier fit and I am pleased with it.

I've emailed my HOC consultant again to say I'm not feeling the ingenue thing. Will see what she says. Marsha I agree I need some celebrities examples to get an idea of the look. I know for Natural Gamine they suggested Cameron Diaz, Zoe Ball, Sara Cox, all of whom are more athletic looking than me, and also more 'tomboyish'.

Viva loving all your links. I have some navy boots - need to get them out again, it will soon be proper boot weather.

Conscious I like the Beaumont Organic dress you linked - I've bought a few things from them but irritated that they don't refund postage costs - they didn't seem to 'get' the distance selling regulations when I emailed them about it.

I just bought this top - apologies for the Next link AGAIN, I seem to be doing well there atm but normally find them dire.

QueenofCardigans · 23/09/2015 14:08

bernice maybe you are an ingenue natural as I have that top too. Have you looked at my ingenue natural pin board? Obviously it's my interpretation of it and what suits me though.

The new students are out in force and ive been style watching them. Skinny jeans are still the main outfit of choice and I didn't see anyone in flares

LinusLovesBretons · 23/09/2015 14:44

I really love that top bernice, I think I already mentioned it when queenc bought it.

Drywhitethanks · 23/09/2015 18:15

this top arrived today. Needed threads trimming. Gorgeous. Love it. Mara it's quite short in the body and I have a short body and true to size, sleeves are slightly puffed on the shoulder which you can't see on the model. Everything I like in a top......round neck, bit of detail, cotton.

First outing for my Pettys, love em

Drywhitethanks · 23/09/2015 18:17

First outing this season

HappyGirlNow · 23/09/2015 18:37

Love that top dry but I'm tall and also long-bodied so think it would be too short from what you say..

Just had a splurge on Dune.. 20% off new lines today online..

Burgundy flat boots

Mink heeled boots and

these cheapy, synthetic ones for kicking about, they can go back if they look cheap..

Drywhitethanks · 23/09/2015 20:24

Happy I love Dune shoes. Great splurge.

U TURN ALERT have just tried on the Zara top again, looks terrible on. Sleeves too long and puff shoulders make me look wide Sad.....return processed aleady sensible, unusual

shopafrolic · 23/09/2015 20:29

Dry I was going to come on here and tell you off the other day. You bought something and said it's a bit big here, and a bit this and that but I'm keeping it for the price. I was too drugged up to slap you for slipping back into bad habits. So I'm pleased you're sending the top back. Considered purchases of things you love only please xxxx

LinusLovesBretons · 23/09/2015 20:35

Well done dry!

Lovely Dune haul happy

shop how are you feeling?

I ordered two pairs of discounted MiH jeans on Asos, one skinny, one boyfriend. Will link in a mo.

LinusLovesBretons · 23/09/2015 20:37

skinny

LinusLovesBretons · 23/09/2015 20:39

boyfriend

These are cropped but the model is about 15 cm taller than me so I hope they are ankle length on me. Grin

MarshaBrady · 23/09/2015 20:50

Oh man I've been missing being on here. Work has been a bit busy.

Bernice yes I agree with you I don't think they are quite right. Let me think... will ponder, catch up and be back

maradesbois · 23/09/2015 21:02

Hello Voguettes,

Am so tired after just a few days of uni, on bus on way home from drinks reception, head is spinning after cheap fizz and no dinner. Nice to dress up for evening though, wore old navy Marni dress with orange hermès scarf as belt and navy heels. So need a small handbag, clutch just doesn't work when holding a drink and shaking hands. Woc would have been perfect Grin.

Have just had a chuckle at Shop's rebuking of Dry! Wise words. Glad to know that about Zara top though Dry, won't bother as am broad of shoulder before adding anything.

Thanks for Porto info conscious and Stokey, lovely romantic engagement story too.

QueenofCardigans · 23/09/2015 21:23

Love the u turn dry Grin
happy love those mink boots

QueenofCardigans · 23/09/2015 21:25

Anyone need any burgundy heeled boots? These are lovely.

shopafrolic · 23/09/2015 21:32

Am worried I've scared Dry away by being brutallyhonestshop
