PM,

Cremo · 15/09/2015 22:49

Och Stropps, I'm so glad you can come too.Smile????Hatty thanks! (trigger finger Grin ) The new app is whizzy and colourful -you can choose your background and name colour, I'm looking at a lavender Mrs S, and I have selected a punchy puce, but very glitchy at the moment.????BTM - hope ds's foot will be ok. Any reason you were watching a doc. about adoption? Just cos?????molly , I snorted at your pretend post.????Work is unspeakable, as per. Sadly found out today that the window of offer on VR has probably closed, which I didn't know. Now feeling painted into a very dark and ugly corner. Considering we have not even seen a new job description for comparison, didn't know until 2weeks ago that our dept is being sold off, have not been offered anything by means of support and I am yet to be advised properly and formally by HR on how things might work, you might think that the window for VR might be more fluid. But no. ??Either I leave with nothing, or retire some of my specialist team and change my filthy unprofitable ways. I'm fucked basically.Shock?? Am filling in the skills test pages on the National Careers Service Website. I will let you know what 'career ' they suggest for me. ??

Cremo · 15/09/2015 22:50

What's with the bold?? Argh

CointreauVersial · 15/09/2015 23:33

Sniggering at squashed spy. Grin

By the way, I have made just short of £600 selling my junk on eBay over the last three months. Coats and all. Although they have just updated the eBay Android app, which is giving me the rage.

Blackduck · 16/09/2015 06:30

0h Cremo :( that sounds monumentally crap. I have come to the conclusion HR are there for the managers not us...
Here I found out (only by being very sarky with said HR) that I was on a reserve list for a post - I.e. If someone dropped out or they hadn't appointed they'd have called me.... Feeling a bit 'always the bridesmaid....'

So where's this new app thing? Although colour etc sounds all a bit Netmums......

bigTillyMint · 16/09/2015 08:05

Hooray Stropps!

BD, we haven't got a drinks venue sorted yet - yoo hoo MrsS - any recommendations down Bankside?!

Cremo, it was because DH said I could choose something on Netflix and I was moaning that everything on there is American twaddle. DD said look at the documentaries but they were all about serial killers, crimes, sex, etc and then I spotted this one!

So sorry to hear trying to leave your job is turning out to be so crap, Cremo.

Just bandaged DS's ankle up - hope he can cycle to school OK.

hattymattie · 16/09/2015 08:51

Crem - I might be very out of date on this but isn't redundancy unfair automatically if the procedures are not followed to the letter and that would include notification of timings for VR?

Sounds like you're getting shafted to me.Sad

I would like the app as well - does this mean I have to scrap the old one that doesn't work and upload the new one? I can be monumentally thick on things like this - will have to ask a child.

Have got DD1 to change her minxy Linked In photo following the Proudman row. DD1's was definitely minxy although I don't think she's been asked for bikini clad photos yet. Smile.

I have reread the war memorial essay and added the word "poignant", I just couldn't help myself - do you think they'll know there was parental involvement?Hmm

motherinferior · 16/09/2015 08:53

I decided on a lie-in this morning as the forecast was grim and I suspected my knee needs a rest. Needless to say I feel sluggish and sorry for myself Grin. Back to the water tomorrow....

Should I email NU?

Rosebag · 16/09/2015 09:08

I was wondering about NU just this morning. I do hope she is ok? Email is good MI I too am feeling horribly sluggish but that's due to eating too much stodge over the festival, including carrot tsimmis , sticky toffee pudding, and BFF's amazing syrup sponge pud which is baked not steamed and tasted just like the old fashioned version but none of the palaver. Hoping to get recipe.

cremo BD continued hugs from me...things will get better. We have to believe that, somehow.

Hope DS is ok tilly No footie for a bit I expect.

hatty I have become an expert in doctoring my DDs very occasionalessays and making it look like hers....it's a skill in it's own right that many people practice I think. Poignant sounds fine so long as they know what it means if questioned !

I presume the app is downloaded from the App Store? I haven't attempted it yet though.

We are now booked solid, audience wise for the play reading with a waiting list. molly I can't resist it...have found a glufree recipe for mocha muffins....
Am a bit panicky now. Too much prep and it's Wednesday already. The DC have offered are being forced to do stewarding. Shock

Lalsy · 16/09/2015 09:18

Yes, MI, I was just thinking the same thing about NU. Hope she is OK.

bigTillyMint · 16/09/2015 09:32

Yes, MI I think you should email NU - surely she's not still on holiday?

Rose, it sounds very exciting. And deliciousEnvy!

Cremo · 16/09/2015 09:40

Also keep wondering about NU. mI do email her if you can. It would be good to know if she's ok and just busy.????Bd I have been trying to phone HR this morning and being sent round the houses. It appears no-one wants to take my call now. I am going to buttonhole my solicitor friend this evening. Very fortunately she is a specialist in employment and unfair dismissal. ??Hatty thanks , I think. There is something about constructive dismissal, but technically I'm unsure as to whether I'd come into that category.( doubtful). One of the HR underlings suggested I go off on "stress" as I sounded overwrought, until it all 'blows over'??Gah.????The app is available for testing only. You need to sign up on a thread in Mumsnet Stuff and they send you the link. Definitely not netmumsy. Colours are very Farrow and ball paint chart.Grin

Cremo · 16/09/2015 09:46

Thinking of new thread titles....??

hattymattie · 16/09/2015 09:47

MI - I hate it when I can't exercise - not that I actually run anywhere with my Achilles tendon thing.

Do email NU - I hope she hasn't got locked out by hackergate never to return.

Crem - good on you getting advice - hope she can come up with something.

Lalsy · 16/09/2015 09:55

Crem, good luck. I once locked horns over constructive dismissal - good idea to get proper advice as it seemed a strange beast. I had to turn up and sit at an empty desk every day for 12 weeks doing nothing except developing a lunchtime pub habit.

motherinferior · 16/09/2015 10:17

I've emailed.

bigTillyMint · 16/09/2015 11:03

Well done MI.

Cremo, glad you have got a Useful Friend. Your HR sound pretty crap. Not that we have any HR at all, so what so I know?!

Just waiting to see physio about my knee which is soooooooo much betterGrin

herbaceous · 16/09/2015 12:35

The HR function these days does seem to be merely a way of getting the underlings to do the managers' bidding, but with head-tilts.

Stropps - I post my clothes up for sale on our local selling site, which happens to be very nice and friendly, and no-one ever says 'would you take an offer, hun'. I judge a suitable price by looking up 'sold listings' for the thing on eBay, and pricing it just below that. If it fails to sell, then I put it on eBay!

I was supposed to be doing a dance aerobics class this morning, but went to a friend's house and ate sausage, egg, beans and chips instead. Why oh why won't my jeans do up?? Wink

bigTillyMint · 16/09/2015 13:01

Herbs, nearly everyone on ours tries to get a better deal!

herbaceous · 16/09/2015 13:45

When the group was set up, it was in the 'rules' that there was to be no bartering. And no use of the word 'hun'. (That wasn't entirely true.)

I've found a high-level TA job in teaching English as an additional language in a local school that would be right up my alley. Would give me lots of experience, but without being too much of a plunge into the deep end...

bigTillyMint · 16/09/2015 13:56

Oooh Herbs, are you going to go and visit the school?

herbaceous · 16/09/2015 14:01

The application has got to be in on Friday, so I probably won't have time to arrange it before then. I do go to the park next to it quite often, however!

They still want three years' experience of teaching EAL, among other things, and qualifications, and still only pay £22K. Hopefully there won't be too many other applicants!

bigTillyMint · 16/09/2015 14:24

Get the application in and then visit before the interview if you can. Good LuckSmile

herbaceous · 16/09/2015 15:52

Good plan, BTM. Thank you!

Behind me is a continually farting cat. In front of me is a phone that keeps receiving those 'bzzztt... my name is William, I'm calling about your computer, we've been informed it's downloading illegal files' scam calls. Not sure which is more annoying.

hattymattie · 16/09/2015 17:55

Herbs - job sounds great - go for it.

Here, I have been told that I am "old, inflexible and people don't think like that anymore". This from DD2 because I disagreed with her on putting references in her essay! Well we'll see when the marks come in - oh and "I don't know her at all". I told her I'd put up with her since she was born so I must know her a bit.Grin

Weather has been miserable all day, if this keeps up I'm going to have to buy some trendy wellies.
