MrsSchadenfreude · 14/09/2015 13:55

I got the job, but haven't got the official notification yet, and have told not to say anything until this comes through, as they need to tell the unsuccessful candidates. Grin Wine

Job involves quite a lot of travel, which will be interesting, not least to see how meal planning pans out in the Haus Schadenfreude on my absence...

motherinferior · 14/09/2015 13:58

I've been left for nobody. Twice. This actually can feel even worse.

Lalsy · 14/09/2015 13:58

Waaay MrsS, fantastic. This is the one you wanted, right?

motherinferior · 14/09/2015 13:59

Flowers MrsS!

herbaceous · 14/09/2015 14:02

Wine Mrs S. Wine But I'll pass, just for now...

I am looking forward to the results of some SchadenHaus self-fending. Buggers.

herbaceous · 14/09/2015 14:18

I am cringing with embarrassment. Back in bed, with the blind open, hear a noise and look up - straight into the face of the window cleaner. I couldn't even get up to close the other blind, as I had no trousers on. I just hid under the duvet.

Stropperella · 14/09/2015 14:31

Grin Herbs Grin

Yay MrsS Wine Flowers Cake Grin Sounds very exciting.

Aww, BD :(

Auriga - aaargh. Angry Well, I'm sure that's helped your dsis's state of mind no end. :(

Blackduck · 14/09/2015 14:40

MrsS fab news - can you tell us anymore at this stage?

Think I might go home and cry.....

bigTillyMint · 14/09/2015 15:24

Well done MrsSWineWineWine

HerbsGrinGrinGrin

motherinferior · 14/09/2015 15:36

BD please don't cry.

BeachysFlipFlops · 14/09/2015 16:57

That's brilliant news,Mrs S and very shitty news AurigaSad your poor dsis, but if you feel that at last she will be able to move on now, that's great.????Work is just boring, dull and the air con has gone wonky so it's hot and smeggy too! Phoned Dh to chat while I took a walk around the block, gasping in cold air and he helpfully suggested I open a window! I can't imagine one building left in the City where you can 'open' windows - we are all hermetically sealed in, especially on the 10th floor where I am...

GiddyGiddyGoat · 14/09/2015 17:38

Is that to stop people jumping Beachy? Sorry you're having a grim day.

WELL DONE Mrs S! Brilliant. Most cheering to be able to contemplate swanning off on your travels wishing them well and saying, oh, by the way, you'll probably need to buy some food... there's not much in."

Oh Auriga, what a mess and how awful. Your poor sister. Might there be a silver lining in that in the long term she may be happier without him? I do hope so.

BD, your time will come. Hang on in there and keep applying for things if you can! Flowers

Rose, I'm sorry but I'm going to bow out of next Sunday. I've taken too much on. Look forward to hearing all about it at the MU. Hope it goes swimmingly well.

Auriga · 14/09/2015 17:42

Congratulations MrsS, well done, Thanks Thanks Thanks here's to new beginnings.

BD, is no news necessarily bad news? Hope not.

Herbs, I'd sack the window cleaner. They should ring the bell and let you know when they start. Harrrumph.

Rosebag · 14/09/2015 18:41

Congratulations MrsS fab news and well done you. Please don't cry BD, as GGG says your time will come, don't lose heart.

Blush indeed herbs Shame he didn't fall off the ladder...nosy git. Ours always ring the bell when they arrive.

Not to worry GGG thanks for the kind wishes. I need now to hear back from MrsS and addle if they deffo want to come or not. molly has confirmed. ( note to self...get some wheat free cake.....) can you let me know today as I'm now running a waiting list.

New year festival today....I have been on my feet for hours and hours. Made a new chicken dish which seemed to go down very well. Breast of chicken with roasted lemons. Very easy, tasty and smelt devine when it was cooking. Lots of family round but felt sad that it was the first big gathering I have done without having DDad there. DM came for an hour or so and then scuttled back to the home. Sad

Cremo · 14/09/2015 18:49

Mrs S , what wonderful news! Well done you! You give me hope , especially after writing about trying to work with HH and BB ( most of us will remember those dark days) so pleased for you.
Herbs hair of the dog tonight??Wine

BD I was thinking of you today with my fingers crossed.

I had to endure a course this morning. Some of the blokes at it were Neanderthals and it appeared to only be me that noticed.I really really hate NI sometimes. If I hear one more Syrian refugee 'joke' I will fucking emigrate.

addle · 14/09/2015 19:35

Congratulations Mrs S - fantastic news! BD, fingers still crossed for you.

Auriga, sorry cross-posted with your family news. Just to echo everyone's hopes that in the long run this may be better for your sister

book club mortification - friend of mine turned up to her bc wondering why everyone had always made such a fuss about grapes of wrath being long and heavy etc, only to discover she had been reading a 'reader'. [really, FofM]

Mrs S - if you're going on Sunday could we go together?

Blackduck · 14/09/2015 19:59

Auriga hope all is okay.

No crepeys no news is not good news. They phone successful applicant and the rest (might) get an email from HR eventually (friend of mine who had an interview several months ago is still waiting for hers Hmm )

Cremo that sounds grim.... Do you go for your VR chat today?

GiddyGiddyGoat · 14/09/2015 20:25

Happy New Year Rose and Cremo Wink

MrsSchadenfreude · 14/09/2015 20:51

Shana tova, y'all!

Addle, yes, absolutely, was going to suggest the same thing!

OP posts:
Lalsy · 14/09/2015 21:02

Crem Shock at 'jokes' like that. Well done on not punching the culprits (or did you?).

Lalsy · 14/09/2015 21:04

dd back at uni, been on a house shopping trip for slug pellets and what are those things you clean with Mum J-cloths. Grin

MollyLair · 14/09/2015 22:07

Happy New Year to everyone celebrating!

But please don't get me special cake, Rose, especially since my waistline has been increasing not decreasing. Lob me a banana and I will be happy. I will be happy anyway.

Congrats to MrsS, sympathy to BD if your suspicions are correct. Congrats to MI too on completion - can I read it? Bet it's BLOODY BRILLIANT.

Auriga, sorry to hear about your ongoing family problems. It must be incredibly hard for you. Herbs, hope you recover. Grin Addle, would be great to see you at Rose's if you shimmy up the waiting list. Cremo, how awful about the refugee jokes. Sad Lalsy, I'm still trying to reveal domestic truths to ds. Last year in halls, when a baking dish had baked-on crustiness, he concluded that it was hopeless and the dish must just be left. Dirty. Forever.

And a big wave to GGG, Stropps, Beachy and Monty and hattie - who I have yet to meet.

MollyLair · 14/09/2015 22:12

Gah, I knew I'd muck that up. Deleted and failed to restore the bits to BTM and Herbs, and messed up the grammar in the last sentence....I can't wait to meet Monty and Hattie - are you coming to the big MU?
