I'm having a boot dilemma too Marsha. I just haven't ordered any yet. But I want Chelsea boots for wearing with straight leg jeans, ash jalouse type for wearing with skirts and dresses and I'd like some dark brown or very dark green bikers! I cannot afford all 3 and can't decide which to get first! Good call on sending back the JC bikers. I think the IM ones are more you.

Good luck today shop. Hope DS enjoys his first day at 'big school'.

Dry good luck with your first day in new job.

libertydoddle · 07/09/2015 09:33

Silent house sounds blissful amber.

MarshaBrady · 07/09/2015 09:45

Lib that sounds about the same level of dilemma as me Grin, they all sound very nice though, think you'll just have to bite the bullet and start ordering Wink

Dry have a great first day!

And hope all the reception starters have a brilliant first day.

MarshaBrady · 07/09/2015 09:46

I'm going to need a work type bag too pretty quickly I think, dammit.

I am really happy with the zip up tote I got from Jaeger Marsha and they have lots in the outlet site.

AmberNectarine · 07/09/2015 10:16

I find my Pashli is really good for work as well. Haven't used it at all this year so looking forward to getting it out.

MarshaBrady · 07/09/2015 10:46

Thanks Lib and Amber will check them out Thanks

QueenofCardigans · 07/09/2015 10:55

amber house is strangely quiet here too. Feeling a bit wobbly but I didn't cry. Its an end of an era though to have them all at school.

Boots are really tricky. I could happily have many pairs to go with different jeans but they're not cheap. lib I look forward to you ordering as many pairs as marsha Grin

AmberNectarine · 07/09/2015 11:38

Agreed, I must have 20 pairs of boots and I still think I have gaps!

libertydoddle · 07/09/2015 12:08

QueenC I never answered your lippy question. I amostly using HoC ones and Clinque Chubby stick in Cherry. I got a coffee shimmer from Rimmel recently but that would probably look too dark for a child. Main thing is to avoid pink and look for coral or beige or orangy shades.

FedupNagging · 07/09/2015 13:03

Those tights/boots are a bit Hmm but I can imagine on the right person/figure would look ok - ish!

A big cashmere scarf is just the ticket for winter - love my grey one from Cos last year.

Flowers for Queen; I must admit I got the balloons and bunting out when ds3 finally went to school. When he left lower school though I went to thank the head for looking after all 3 of my ds's(no meant feat) and burst into tears-that really did feel like the end of an era. She gave me a big hug.

Totally get the boot dilemma you're all having. I have jaloosie alikes for wearing with dresses, pettys and Hudson dupes for skinnies but what boots to wear with flares? Also need knee length too. ignores the 6 other pairs cluttering up wardrobe

Shop how is the glasses hunt going? Have been checking whatsapp all morning waiting for the call Wink

How could I forget to mention your latest haul Blingy - fab.

Dry hope your first day is going well.

BerniceBobsHerHairAgain · 07/09/2015 13:08

QueenC NYX is stocked in superdrug I think, maybe Boots too - it is cheap but pretty good. Lots of colours too.

I've made yet another mistake with lipsticks - Mac capricious - I saw it mentioned on the HOC winter thread but it is too brown for me. So if anyone wants it I am happy to post it!!

I finally picked up this bag today only to find it is too small Sad

QueenofCardigans · 07/09/2015 14:02

Oh no on the bag bernice. Do they do it in a bigger size? Shame also about the lipstick as lots raved about it on the thread.
lib thanks. Yes to nothing too dark. I want it as natural as possible . She's suddenly changed so much. Physically she's getting breasts and hips. She's really getting into clothes and her appearance too.I'm finding it hard as I don't want her to become obsessed with her clothes etc like me but I'd like to help her feel confident about herself. She's also getting a bit of a tum which I'm hoping is just a little food baby from the summer like mine as I don't want her to start thinking she's fat (which she's said a couple of times) or dieting.

Some of my jeans are looking tired so are being retired to the housework/dirty jobs draw. Ordered 2 new pairs from gap. I hate spending money on jeans as they're such boring purchases but they are the staple of my wardobe.

Stokey · 07/09/2015 14:34

I too have a child-free house today, it feels amazing!

Dark green bikers sound good Lib, let me know if you find any. I was lusting after either green or burgundy chelsea boots last year but think bikers are a bit more me. I have Pettys too which are a not unsimilar shape to the Chelsea boots so I think bikers are more important.

Love the Togas QueenC.

Pliage is very handy for work Marsha. Stick fat things like lap top in that and carry your Trio for purse & phone? Or too faffy having two bags?

I got really hot going to the library earlier on. I was in Hush harems, a black vest under a very thin black & purple striped 3/4 length tee and black boucle biker jacket. As soon as I got home it felt cold again. Weird weather.

FedupNagging · 07/09/2015 17:16

Love these shoes
And these - wondering if they will go with a navy lace dress - Zarita style?

Topaz forgot to say congrats on the move - I hope you'll be very happy in your new home.

Queen I know what you mean about spending £££ on jeans but I forked out about £120 for a pair of Maison scotch jeans which I love and then went back and bought a couple more pairs of skinnies and they have all worn and washed really well. PPW for all of them is pennies Ive worn them so much.

Bernice shame about the bag - are you going to return? Think there is a larger version.

Hi to newbie Concious. Loafers and no socks here too today although I did walk the dog in boots instead of pumps!

shopafrolic · 07/09/2015 17:29

Nice things in the Madewell catalogue that landed with my J Crew one. But no prices - frustrating!

shopafrolic · 07/09/2015 17:31

Eye test is tomorrow Fedup

shopafrolic · 07/09/2015 20:23

Whoever recommended Dior and I? FlowersFlowersFlowers I loved it.

Longislandicetee · 07/09/2015 21:19

Amber good lord! I am old. I looked at the dress last week and had a smile for my lost youth Grin.

Bernice such a shame about the bag, I think it's a lovely colour.

hello conscious Smile.

I had a full day of internal meetings today so decided to dress down. Wore Hobbs Gracie dress and a rare outing for my Louboutin Pigalles. Everytime I wear them, I conclude he must hate women!!

KittyHello · 07/09/2015 22:00

I'm another with a child free house today, had loads to do, so haven't managed to look at the Madewell catalogue yet, gave the JCrew one to dh to peruse, am trying to smarten him up.

Shop are you still after leggings? Saw legging on The White Company website, not sure about length though

I quite like this jumpsuit

Dry hope you had a good first day.

Amber good luck for tomorrow

Wore white TS Baxters, grey Pistols and grey merino sweater for the SR and was pleased with this outfit. May try and eek out the white jeans for as long s possible.

Hello Conscious

Bernice I'm going lipstick shopping on Saturday, will pop to Selfridges as I also need some other stuff too. Mascara and a Bobbi Brown tinted moisturiser. Any recommendations for a nice everyday daytime mascara. I used to use Lancome in the past but am now using No.7 which I'm not that fussed on.

AmberNectarine · 07/09/2015 22:56

Ah thanks for good wishes peeps but I'm not back until next tues :)

blingy I think that every time I wear my pigalles. Re the dress, I tried it on today and yikes, I won't be bending over! Typically DH was with me when I bought it and basically talked me into it. Ah well!

onemightywizard · 07/09/2015 23:13

i have browsed and i have browsed and still nothing catches my eye. my self decreed shop later this month is looking very limited as there's just nothing at all jumping out at me saying 'BUY ME' looks like i'll be saving rather than spending for a while yet unless anything new and exciting drops any time soon

shopafrolic · 08/09/2015 07:52

Morning all - am off glasses shopping this morning so can someone else set up the new thread please? Ta muchly :)

shopafrolic · 08/09/2015 07:53
