shop stop mentioning London landmarks! It makes me think about all the places I used to go to during my childless years in London. Smile

I do love velvet, especially velvet jackets. Not velvet trousers though I do like grey flannel trousers on a man

Drywhiteplease · 16/07/2015 22:39

I adore velvet, especially the floppy silk type, but it gives DH the creeps and if you spill water/wine on it it's totally ruined.

OneLittleLady · 16/07/2015 22:42

oh! brilliant news dry well done you Wine Thanks Star [fizz]

oh, i used to be draped head to toe in velvet, i still have some black velvet dr marten boots and a 'vintage' 90s black velvet skater dress. oh for my days of being a goth Grin

bettykt · 16/07/2015 22:59

Well done Dry that's great news. Must've been the Union Jack nick nacks. I reckon you need to have a major blow out in London to celebrate.

QueenC that's pants about your Quilty. Have you rang CS and told them? Could be worth a try.

Karbea · 17/07/2015 06:39

dry well done! When do you start?

The trousers are long, I tried them on with 80mm heels yesterday and they'd just hit the floor. The problem is they look ok as I used to wear them to work in the summer, but just haven't for years, I just don't know if the shape is old fashioned. I have a pair of cropped (more ankle length) trousers which look nice with flats, I do,try them with heels but doesn't look quite right :/

I used to have a black velvet jacket when I was at uni, I lived in it.

shopafrolic · 17/07/2015 06:45

Stick a pic up Karbea - hard I judge without seeing Smile

Well done Dry

Shop I tried Harrow and Ealing TKMaxx for you in last couple of days but no joy there either. I did find the leathers in Hammersmith.

My period has started and I feel like the weight of the world has lifted off my shoulders. I seriously nearly quit my job in the last 2/3 weeks. I had booked a doctors apt but then had to cancel. First task this morning is to rebook it, this can't be normal. I am genuinely under a lot of stress but my coping abilities just go completely out the window from day 15 to 30 Sad. My mum didn't have menopause until almost 60 - I can't deal with 18 years of this Confused. I'll end up divorced and unemployed.

shopafrolic · 17/07/2015 09:08

I know how you feel Lb - I make really stupid reckless decisions and get things way out of proportion when I am due on. Problem is my cycle is so irregular nowadays that I have no way of knowing when the bad times will be and often forget the reason for my anger. Definitely see the doctor. And perhaps get back on the Mindfulness app?

lib deginitely see the Dr. How do you feel about the pill or coil as they may help regulate you. I also take antidepressants which do really help. If you have a regular period then taking them for the last 2 weeks of the cycle can really help. That's what I did until I became totally irregular and now take them all the time. Magnesium and b6 can also help.
shop a bloke in velvet trousers is just wrong.
betty you're right, I should call them.

BerniceBobsHerHair · 17/07/2015 10:08

Another rucksack for Maz

Mara do you always avoid MMF as a rule?

Lib Flowers - I am a bit loathe to write this on the thread but I did read a recent thread about reuseable pads / mooncups, which people were raving about even in terms of effect on cycle and mood. Unfortunately I can't find the thread now, it was in chat.

Congratulations Dry!

Hope you all have a great MU.

shopafrolic · 17/07/2015 13:34

Well - at least it is 61 editions before moon cups got a mention Grin

Stokey · 17/07/2015 13:37

Well done Dry, definitely worth celebrating tomorrow. Really look forward to meeting you and Shop and everyone else, hope you're all still going strong by mid afternoon.

Apologies in advance for my out of control eyebrows. Just tried to get em threaded with both DC in tow, and its Eid so all the Asian shops are shut, bah.

On the plus side, I just got a tax rebate as only worked for half of last year but was taxed at 40%. Couldn't have come at a better time as our laptop has died and we want to buy a camera for our holiday. Sometimes HMRC have to come good!

BerniceBobsHerHair · 17/07/2015 14:05

Shop Grin

Drywhiteplease · 17/07/2015 14:48

Bloody hell Stokey you can't come to a MNV MU with unruly eyebrows Shock we have standards Grin Wink

Liberty sounds horrendous.

So, looks like a nice day in London tomorrow......has anyone else heard a weather forecast? Legs may come out. Marsha I'm warning you now, my feet may be visible Grin

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 17/07/2015 15:59

Dry well done, that's great news! Is it similar to what you do now or something new?

I think it's going to be nice tomorrow as well, not sure what to wear though... Legs are too pale to get out.

Lib Flowers at least you feel better for your weekend away. I agree, see the doc before next time.

I just ordered an Allium B dress by the way - thanks! And 2 from Me+Em (taking my cowl neck draped dress total to 4). One of them is black because I have a funeral to go to next week, and the only black dress I have is quite booby which I do not want.

I don't really like velvet either, but I've just remembered that my very first pair of flared trousers (when they came back in while I was a teenager) was a black velvet pair. Probably in 1997 or so. Ahhh memories.

Looking forward to tomorrow :)

QueenCardigan · 17/07/2015 16:03

stokey one of my biggest panics this week when ds was ill was whether I'd make my eyebrow appt and hair cut! Poor boy had to come to both with me Grin.

Still no idea what to wear. Mornings seem to start off chilly and I don't want to freeze on the train at 8.30 but by this time of day it's boiling.

shopafrolic · 17/07/2015 16:19

Blair sorry to hear about the funeral :(
Please get you legs out though - mine are white too (would hate to be alone in blinding people)
QueenC you are Queen Cardigan right? Surely this is all about layering - you should be in your element Grin
Can't decide between new Ganni dress - which is a great fit now I have sized down - and gladiator sandals, or skinnies, white tee, Zara blazer and Dune black heels - with way the Pashli is coming with me.

maradesbois · 17/07/2015 17:28

Hello all,

Lib that sounds horrendous, you shouldn't have to put up with it so defo go to doctor. Enjoy your weekend. Xx

Blair am going to get my blindingly white legs out as long as tomorrow's weather is halfway decent so if you change your mind you won't be alone. Didn't have time to get the St Tropez shower tan nor have mani/pedi plus my no. 11 lines are back with a vengeance aargh.

Bernice I wouldn't say always but do avoid mmf most of the time. For something sleeveless I don't mind so much, have a Tart dress that I love that think is rayon or something. I used to work in the natural fibre industry so am somewhat biased!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 17/07/2015 17:33

Thanks for the blinding legs solidarity mara and shop! We shall see. I'm out tonight and have resorted to jeans. Acne skinnies, Uniqlo striped silk shirt, and FCUK heels. I finish work early on Friday, and we are going in an hour apparently!

shop I would love to have a look at your Pashli tomorrow. I'm going to try and remember to bring my Spring colour swatches for QueenC. Other than that I don't know what to wear

Stokey · 17/07/2015 17:42

I'd forgotten about Marsha's foot phobia, mine will almost certainly be out, though may have to redo my toes now! My legs are waiting for pre-holiday beauty sesh on Wednesday so should really stay covered. It's a pity, they're quite brown.

I think Ganni dress Shop. Jeans, tee & blazer can be worn whenever but legs only get a chance to come out in summer.

maradesbois · 17/07/2015 17:45

Forgot to say Linus have a brilliant holiday Smile [sunshine] [rosé] [pool]

maradesbois · 17/07/2015 17:46

Shop I second Stokey re legs!

QueenCardigan · 17/07/2015 17:56

shop I will most definitely have a cardi with me. It's the leg issue I have a quandary with. If my legs get cold my feet literally turn blue so not a good look. But equally I can't bear having hot legs Confused. Maybe I should bring a pashmina to use as a blanket on the train Grin
Ooh yes do blair. I've packed mine too, you know, just in case I do any shopping.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 17/07/2015 18:01

Just in case QueenC! Wink
