Not quite sure how that went so quickly. Continuing the search for stylish bargains. Lurkers welcome - bring links and a smile :)

Was cheaper for me in France QueenC - they tell you that they are priced the same globally but the exchange rate is in out favour ATM

Karbea · 16/07/2015 19:07

I popped to bicester this morning to get a gift for a friend. Lots of lovely things there again, including rockstuds in bright colours, and the lovely ankle boots. I found a really nice smythson travel jewellery box, which I was very good and left there, dh just told me I should have got it... Bum... And they had some globetrotter luggage.

Karbea · 16/07/2015 19:08

Also has anyone ordered from here some lovely long evening skirts, can't remember who was looking for these a while back...

Karbea · 16/07/2015 19:18

Ladies I'm after some trouser advice. I've two pairs of cream summer trousers, I think they are straight leg or slightly wider at the ankle and they are tailored to wear with heels.
Anyway I tried them on this morning and they looked really wide at the bottom, I don't know if this is because I only wear skinny jeans, but do you think this is a definite no, no? Should I get them tailored straight or tighter at the ankle, or is this look ok, or really dated?

LinusDKD · 16/07/2015 19:25

Talk me out of this dress

It is half price with an additional discount code but still £££ but I love it.

But I don't really need it but it's a classic lbd. But I can't really order it now as it'll be delivered when I'm on holiday. But, but, but.

Enough "buts"? Grin

AmberNectarine · 16/07/2015 20:03

The texture of velvet makes me want to vomit. Good enough reason?

Karbea I have ordered a skirt from Chicwish, my flamingo one. It came quickly and is pretty nice for the money.

LinusDKD · 16/07/2015 20:34

Lol amber

I love a bit of velvet,me. Fleece (and those fake furry fluffy polyester towels/dressing gowns/ scarves on the other hand) make me feel bleurgh.

maradesbois · 16/07/2015 20:48

Linus I really hate the feel of velvet too but know that's not enough to dissuade you! Agree with you though that those furry fleece dressing gowns are truly awful, the fabric must feel horrid against damp skin.

Shop tks for kimono link, I do love a botanical print. Would've been tempted to order but it's viscose. They didn't have rock stud sunglasses in Hammersmith TK Maxx but there were some Tom Ford. Also lots of DVF but didn't get to look properly as had ds with me. Picked up some Manuka yoga wear and plenty of house stuff.

Karbea how to know without seeing them, think you have to go with how you feel in them.

LinusDKD · 16/07/2015 21:02

mara I just showed the dress to DH and he was underwhelmed so that's the end of that.

Any chance of you coming to my neck of the woods? I really enjoyed our mini MU. Smile

QueenCardigan · 16/07/2015 21:03

I think it's lovely linus. Nothing wrong with velvet.
karbea what length are they? I personally prefer cropped trousers with heels.

LinusDKD · 16/07/2015 21:13

karbea cropped trousers are tricky especially when you're short (like me)

I think they can look nice with flats but only when they're more like cigarette trousers and not tapered.

maradesbois · 16/07/2015 21:28

Linus dh has meetings near you on Monday and asked if I wanted to spend this weekend there but said no as didn't want to miss the mu on Sat! Will be over late August but probably not before then. Will let you know as really enjoyed mini mu too.

Stokey · 16/07/2015 21:36

I didn't realise Le planetes had been discontinued, I only bought it a year ago. According to the purse forum, the Neo falls somewhere in between Le Pliage and Le Planetes. I may bring it on Saturday and you can have a gander Shop & Dry, bit embarrassed by how beaten up it is though!

LinusDKD · 16/07/2015 21:36

mara I won't be there on Monday as I'll be on holiday but the end of August should work.

Soooo jealous about the MU. I so want to come to London!

Drywhiteplease · 16/07/2015 22:04

Ythat would be great Stokey. Really think I need to go to Selfridges when Im in London in August and have a good try of them.
Fedup Grin my predictive text is getting out of hand !!!!!
Amber have the Quilty ballets, would love the matching bag ofcourse, no surprise

Am listening to MNV and sending all Boden animal flats back.

LinusDKD · 16/07/2015 22:11

Yay dry! Tell me more, tell more

shopafrolic · 16/07/2015 22:21

Would love to see it Stokey - really looking forward to meeting you BTW. Sounds like a great crowd this time.
Haircut is in Earl's Court at 10am and will then head in.
Mara thanks for looking for me. I think DS and I might be visiting Hammersmith in the holidays Smile I think that's where Lib found my HL leather skinnies.
Linus I can't bear velvet either. Collects dust and fluff, plus I used to date a guy who wore velvet trousers - just eeeew Confused
