blair just seen your bag want. I'll be back on Sunday with links Grin

libertychick · 04/08/2015 21:10

Think of us as your fashion conscience shop Grin

I agree the AH is a great bag. Don't own one but have drooled over shop's. I love my MbMJ crossbody and that's well within budget. Easily holds everything essential plus kindle/book.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 04/08/2015 21:29

Which one is yours Lib? I really like the Hillier Hobo. But it's quite similar to my mulberry, only with a long strap.

QueenC can't wait Grin glad you're still having a great time, shame about the storm.

Topazandpearl · 04/08/2015 22:05

Welcome back santa, we have missed you.

Glad the MIH top works fedup, I thought I was bad with three stripy tops and one stripy jacket!

I fancy the spa too (but I'd skip the treatments and catch up on some reading while you are all being pummelled!)

I am looking forward to seeing Queen's links for Blair's bag.

Hope DS is recovering Dry.

Keep enjoying the holidays everyone.

bettykt · 04/08/2015 22:22

Loving all the Boden admissions Grin in fact I was wearing my stripes Johnny B Breton today. As someone said upthread they are good for plain items. Saw a woman on Sunday wearing an obviously Boden dress, How do I know? It's because I own said dress in a plain colour.

Blair god you're keeping at it with the running, I'm a few weeks in and am surprisingly enjoying it.Hmm looking forward to seeing the bag links, I will try and wrack my brain. It's in a fashion coma at the moment.

Fedup I have 5 stripey tops not all blue/white so that's okay isn't it? Wink

Spa sounds good, i too could do with some me time and we're only on week 2 of the hols.

libertychick · 04/08/2015 22:23

I have the Natasha New Q in taupe with gold hardware Blair. Cranagh has it too and she has some other MbMJ bags so she might be able to tell you how it compares to the Hobo.

Drywhiteplease · 04/08/2015 23:02

Blair I'd love Shop's AH zip satchel or if I won the lottery/was bitter about DHs recent impulse buy I'd get the Jennifer by Tom Ford (?).

Ok......I've started the challenging task of planning a very capsule 2 week British holiday wardrobe bloody wheelchair taking up my packing space . So much easier when you are guaranteed sunshine. It's a very informal holiday.

i think I'm going to take loads of denim blue bottoms so everything coordinates.

So far:
1 pair Gap boyfriend shorts (vintage wash)
1 pair Gap navy chino boyfriend shorts
2 pairs Jimmmies (I skinnny, 1 boyfriend)
1 khaki skinnies broken denim rule
1 Boden oops chambray tunic dress
1 pair coral Havianas
1 pair Stan Smiiths
1 pair pointy animal print flats
1 black fitted jacket
1 showerproof khaki Parker
2 vest tops ( white, marl grey)
4 sleeveless shell tops (black Madewell, red broderie, cream guipure lace, white Zara linen)
3 long sleeved shirts (may take one out)
1 orange Whistles sweatshirt
I Asos navy and white stripy jumper with red heart elbow patches
2 Bretons
3 fitted cardigans (black, red , white)

Seems like a lot Hmm

santamarianovella · 04/08/2015 23:03

Thanks for the warm welcome, have missed you all Flowers ,and lots of kisses,
alas I think I need to sneak into all your wardrobes, ninja style and clear it of the B word, I can make an exception for basic articles and swimwear, Wink

blair my brain is fried, atm ,and I can't think of anything! I need to be back home, in my exclusively reserved for fantasy shopping spot with my favourite mug

libertychick · 04/08/2015 23:20

dry will you have access to a washing machine?

Of your list I would suggest:

  1. take out 1 pair of shorts - if there are a few hot days you can always wear the same shorts two days in a row or alternate with the dress
  2. take out either the skinny kakhi's or skinny jeans -
  3. take out one (maybe 2) long sleeve shirts, one Breton and maybe one sleeveless top. This still leaves 6 tops.
  4. take out one cardi (the white one IMO)
  5. if you were to add anything I would add in an extra casual dress

Any help?

Drywhiteplease · 04/08/2015 23:43

Yes, great help liberty. Agree white cardigan will get dirty quickly and just snuck in the khaki Skinnies because I get bored wearing denim all of the time, but you are right. I do have access to a washing machine, and I'm not bad at packing light, but I bore easily when my choice is restricted.

santamarianovella · 04/08/2015 23:47

dry for me,its a bit too much, ,but given that the weather in the uk is so unpredictable, it looks ok, but I agree with lib ,you don't more than 2 cardis, as you are taking a sweatshirt, and parka, ditto shirts, 2 I think are enough,

So here are my summer best buys :
this marant top which I absloutely in love with, wear it all the time witch denim APC shorts, and bottega veneta flats

marant caleen dress, I think someone here has this one,?

Marni skirt, its on my SS wardrobe board, I'm having difficulty linking to,

santamarianovella · 05/08/2015 00:05

this VB dress which I got loads of compliments on.

and this VB sweater, of course when dh saw me wearing it, he asked if I was channeling the crane brothers from the sitcom Frasier ,I seriously hate him for saying this, but he is right, Grin ,I don't care I love Frasier!

I'm about to watch the final episode of madmen, I'm beyond sad,I don't know how I'm gonna fill that void now! Sad everything else pales in comparison to madmen, I never thought I was going to miss don draper!
Night all!

Cranagh · 05/08/2015 00:18

You would get an AH satchel for £500 in the sales, Blair. I have one and find it a bit awkward to open. I use my MBMJ Natasha a lot more with the kids. Also have a Hillier, which is roomier. I got the Mulberry Mitzy as my baby changing bag for DD1 so hang on to that!

LinusDKD · 05/08/2015 06:59

Morning!

Love those sales buys santa, especially the IM dress. I really have to sit on my hands not to buy it as well. they have a FR 38 which is my size

But I really don't need another summer dress and that colour looks maybe a bit too warm for me.

I am itching to buy something but I have my eye on some winter cashmere jumper so I might hold out for that. And I will try and save some money for my birthday trip and I might join DH in NY in October as well.

dry if you have a washing machine, don't pack too much. I ended up washing my favourite clothes on holiday and wearing them all the time. Lots of stuff didn't get worn.

blair, I love a good bag hunt. I'll start browsing for you. Wink

LinusDKD · 05/08/2015 07:02

lovely colour but slightly over budget.

Stokey · 05/08/2015 07:02

I love my MBMJ Natasha Blair. But it is very slouchy.

LinusDKD · 05/08/2015 07:04

this is not my favourite but it can be worn crossbody.

LinusDKD · 05/08/2015 07:08

throwing in a cuff for shop

LinusDKD · 05/08/2015 07:14

Sorry, just saw the Burberry bag can't be worn crossbody. Morning espresso hasn't kicked in yet. Wink

What colour bag are you looking for actually?

QueenCardigan · 05/08/2015 07:38

Morning. Just enjoying a cup of tea on the terrace catching up with links Smile. santa for a moment I thought that VB meant Victoria beckham and was Shock and relieved to find it was vanessa Bruno! Love the IM stuff.
dry agree about cardis -even I would only take two. If you can fit the rest in I would but that's because I like a break from washing whilst on holiday and the uk is so unpredictable.

QueenCardigan · 05/08/2015 07:39

Meant to also say cranagh I am loving the primates of park ave book so thanks for the rec.

HappyGirlNow · 05/08/2015 07:51

Santa love love love the IM dress it's beautiful! Wish I had the legs for it...

LinusDKD · 05/08/2015 07:53

Forgot to say I love Frasier as well. Well, I love Niles (especially whith his crush on Daphne).

maradesbois · 05/08/2015 09:25

Morning,

Santa like QueenC I always think Beckham when I see your VB links even though I know it's Bruno. Lovely buys, adore both dresses.

Dry take it all if you have space but looks far too much to me, think you could easily lose a cardigan and jumper, a Breton and maybe a pair of jeans. Would keep the khaki skinnies as they'll go with pretty much everything.

Linus have wanted to do the mayr cure for years so will definitely join you! Think it's meant to be pretty hardcore though, not softly softly luxury. Would even be up for the colonic irrigation, apparently old food can fester in your gut for years (sorry for non-vogue chat!)

Weather looks a bit grey today, not sure what to wear to take ds to an arts workshop but will not be yesterday's maxi skirt of death that I nearly tripped over on so many times. Dh pointed out its because I've lost some weight around the middle skirt sits lower and trails on the ground so every cloud and all that!

maradesbois · 05/08/2015 09:37

Also meant to say Fedup nice top and you can never have too many stripes.

Dry will pm you seabass recipe.
