Not quite sure how that went so quickly. Continuing the search for stylish bargains. Lurkers welcome - bring links and a smile :)

Back later but had to rush in and shout with glee that there is enough CCTV footage to arrest and charge the bastard who smashed our window - YAY!!!
Waves to Cranagh :)

Yes Lib! I've worn mine loads too, even though it's not strictly my colour. I find it very hard to wear all "my colours" when that's not the fashion. Obviously this year it's been all autumnal 70s shades and prior to that I feel like it was black and white. When will bright rainbow clothes be in again? "hopefully never" thinks everyone else

I finally got put on another case at about 2.30, then the afternoon flew by, very interesting. Going out for a cheeky half price Prezzo (on Taste card) with DH later. It's turned out lovely and warm here too.

QueenC I've wanted to read "Deluxe: How Luxury Lost its Lustre", by Dana Thomas, for a while.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 30/07/2015 17:37

That's great news shop, must feel so satisfying!

AmberNectarine · 30/07/2015 17:40

Sounds worse than it is dry here

It has arrived and I actually really like it - looks good over a plain grey or black high necked vest top.

AmberNectarine · 30/07/2015 17:42

Also ordered this which I'm still undecided about.

AmberNectarine · 30/07/2015 18:15

Saw this top and thought of QueenC

libertychick · 30/07/2015 18:42

greenlamp1 sorry I have been in meetings all day so have only just seen your post. It's a tencel one I have, not linen. John by John Rocha range. It's on my 'blue autumn' board on Pinterest . I am libertychick on there too. Can't link as I am on phone ATM. Will link later Smile

Drywhiteplease · 30/07/2015 19:09

Total outfit change. Don't want to look winters. Sun out.....?Non I me to describe.

Cranagh · 30/07/2015 20:28

Glad they can charge him, Shop.

QueenC, I am enjoying Primates of Park Avenue atm. There is good section on Birkins. There are all the same shops here, LK Bennett/Gap/Zara etc and Harvey Nicks/Brown Thomas for higher end. I love Comptoir so will have to buy that online. Otherwise pretty good for shopping.

bettykt · 30/07/2015 21:08

Hi Cranagh welcome back, glad you're settling in nicely back home. Bet it feels good to be back.

Shop great news, people like that shouldn't get away with it.

One'hope it all goes smoothly tomorrow.

Dry and Blair have a great evening tonight.

No fashion news to report here, I haven't looked at anything for ages, but once September comes I'll get my fashion mojo back. I always seem to lose it over the summer Hmm

libertychick · 30/07/2015 21:10

Jacket for greenlamp - sadly oos

Good to see you Cranagh. Must feel funny being back in your old room. How are your DD's settling?

Shop great news about that guy being charged!

Is jury service over now Blair? There has been a lot of Autumn colours around but a lot of it has been horrible patterns and polyester everywhere. I'm hoping for better options in AW.

Topazandpearl · 30/07/2015 21:21

Great news Shop!

Hope you are settling in well Cranagh.

I have sent back the MIH Breton as it was too big (annoying as it was meant to be the same size as the one I have). I would have sized down but it was navy and beige instead of the navy and white I was expecting.

I have also sent back the Brora black cardigan. Again, it was too big (the reviews said to size up so I did!). It was lovely quality but as it was quite thick and square-cut, I didn't love it. I have exchanged it for this one as I identified a dark blue cardigan gap in my wardrobe.

My style:
For work

  1. Fitted dresses (e.g. Me&em ruched) with short jackets or cardigans, skinny belts
  2. The above with ankle boots and opaques or with flats and nude tights.
  3. Pencil skirts and tucked in tops (e.g. Boden Ravello), with cardigans.
  4. Tailored trousers with tucked in tops and jackets or cardigans, flat shoes, skinny belts.
  5. Above knee-length trench, short belted padded coat or calf-length loose wool coat

For weekends

  1. Skinny jeans, untucked tops, jumpers or sweatshirts in colder weather, ankle boots or flats
  2. Cropped trousers and untucked tops, flats

I like scarves but I am conscious that I sometimes add a scarf out of habit and try to make sure it is right for the outfit.
Jewellery is usually studs (diamond or pearl), pearl or delicate silver necklaces, my wedding, engagement rings and watch, although I do sometimes wear chunkier necklaces.
Oh, and I much prefer winter clothes to summer clothes (just as well in this weather Hmm)

This has been a useful exercise and has helped in my decluttering.

libertychick · 30/07/2015 21:33

Dress for Dry

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 30/07/2015 22:04

Lib no, as far as I'm aware I'll be there until next Friday. I've been assured there are no long cases expected though, so I'm in no danger of missing my holiday Grin

Greenlamp I've checked and my jacket is sold out too but it was from Topshop. :( Hope you find a nice one.

Cranagh good to hear the first move has gone smoothly and that the shopping is acceptable - very important!

Greenlamp1 · 30/07/2015 23:05

Thanks Libertychick and Blair for replies and links.

QueenCardigan · 31/07/2015 06:46

Morning. Thanks cranagh, Ive managed to download that book.

Drywhiteplease · 31/07/2015 08:28

Shop that's great news, just not right that someone should get away with that.
Liberty I saw that dress earlier in the season. Perfect for work.
Amber I'm relieved, thought you'd gone all S and M Shock

It's not raining Grin.........

libertychick · 31/07/2015 18:37

And it's been such a nice day no one's here!

Finished up work early today and took DD shopping. Bought her a Minnie Mouse outfit and a kakhi leopard print modal/cashmere scarf for me in TKMaxx. Then coffee / babychino and lots of people watching. Smile

bettykt · 31/07/2015 20:54

Sounds like a lovely afternoon Lib do you have a link to your scarf? I like the sound of it.

Kondo book has arrived, do I really need a book to tell me to get rid of my pre-dc pinstripe work suits? They must go I would never wear them in a month of Sundays. Hmm

libertychick · 31/07/2015 20:57

I haven't looked for the scarf online yet Betty. It is really nice, has an orange stripe through the middle and the print is a different scale either side of the stripe. Having a lazy evening on the sofa with just phone and no laptop so I am not tempted to work

libertychick · 31/07/2015 21:01

I am feeling the need for a declutter too. Especially paper. I have so much work and study paperwork around and DD is going through a phase of wanting to keep every damn thing she makes or draws.

bettykt · 31/07/2015 21:01

Hey no worries Lib I'll have a look myself with that description. I'm aiming each evening to switch off the laptop by 9.30 and read for an hour or so instead, I'm so behind with book reading and QueenC has inspired me to do more book reading. I have loads stored on my Kindle that I haven't read as I'm MNVing!

Enjoy your chilled evening.

Drywhiteplease · 31/07/2015 21:04

I like the sound of that scarf too liberty may pop into my local to see if they have it. Your day sounds lovely.

Another morning spent in fracture clinic with DS.....needs another op tomorrow Sad DH and I will do relay. At least I'll get a lot of my book read. No wifi though Sad. Have wheel chair dotted but not volunteering to push Grin

Drywhiteplease · 31/07/2015 21:07

liberty buy DD a special scrap book that she can decorate.then when she makes/paints/draws stuff and all of the crap sent home from school take a photo and she can stick it I with a date. Then you can get rid of stuff on the sly and she'll have a lovely book to look through.

MyVegasBaby · 31/07/2015 21:12

After 11pm and still mid 30s, am melting! Black Gap chinos, FCUK multi top and black patent Hush sandals. Swarovski bling and a bit of a tan.
Sadly mosquito bites not adding to the look, despite lots of taziki and g & t as they are meant to hate garlic and tonic!
