How pretty do you have to be to pull off a pixie cut?

Short hair suits me (IMHO) but ATM I have a longish fringe and some body to it.

I'm thinking of going much shorter because the current do takes quite a bit of doing, can't take any moisture in the air without flopping and I think it's a bit dated/aging.

However, I'm an ordinary looking middle aged woman, rarely wear make-up and I have a larger than average nose!

goinganon, I think it'd look great on you! Like many have said on this thread, it's just hair - it'll grow back if you don't like it. DOO IIIIIIIT! Grin

Oh you're so kind, Enormouse, Mitzy & Bonnie. Thank you Flowers

I now feel like I can go for it!

That's a great picture, Mitzy. It's hard to find many pixie pictures of anyone who's not in their 20s (which as you can tell I am not!) on hair websites.

I know what you mean about feeling brave, Bonnie. I think that's part of my motivation too.

Thanks BabC - I think I WILL!

You look a bit like her too so you can see how great it looks!

Oh I missed your name off the previous message noddy Shock
Thank you so much for your reply.
I'm rather chuffed to be told I look a bit like Robyn Wright!!

MerryMarigold · 24/06/2015 11:50

Going Anon, you have a fabulous mouth and eyes, and I think it will really accentuate that. Basically if you look better with your hair up (I do), you look better with a short cut/ pixie. I'm not fully sure of the short fringe, but the Robin Wright would definitely look great on you, as your fringe already looks fantastic.

GoingAnonForPixieThread · 24/06/2015 12:21

Thank you Merry. I'm rarely told I have nice eyes as they're hard to spot Grin so that's lovely of you!

OP are you still around, and did you go for the short cut??

MerryMarigold · 24/06/2015 12:23

They're not hard to spot! They're smiley.

Is anyone by any chance based in Birmingham, and could recommend a good hairdresser? I've not had anything complicated enough done to require one since living here...

Charityworker34 · 24/06/2015 14:58

Mine is very short. I think it's far less to do with 'prettiness' and more to do with bone structure. A sculpted face with defined jaw and cheekbones is definitely enhanced by stripping back the hair. And I am not especially pretty- face has plenty of character though!
