Love that we were all wearing Anais Anais in far corners of world, well me anyway. It was more teens for me too.

shopafrolic · 18/06/2015 08:09

I knicked my mums every once in a while Marsha does that count? Grin

Getting my roots coloured today by a friend - can't wait, so grey. My hair is a growing out mess right now but I don't want to get it cut until I come to London for the MU.
3 weeks till holiday :)
We have a busy weekend - one of DH's work colleagues and family are coming to visit (not the lovely Mazjacks unfortunately) on Saturday and then we're getting together with another family for Father's Day celebrations on Sunday - probably a BBQ if the weather holds.
Found out yesterday that I'm going to have to have a gynae op for an ongoing issue. 3 nights in hospital - am terrified!

Ha yes. My mum wore something that if I smelt it now if be reminded of car sickness. As it was that and hair gel for ballet hair on a one hour car drive over a windy mountain. Need to remember, perhaps Anais Anais too

MarshaBrady · 18/06/2015 08:13

Oh no 3 nights, we'll keep you company

QueenCardigan · 18/06/2015 08:13

I also had Lou lou. The smell of it now makes me heave. A boyfriend at uni bought me Tresor which I loved. And I remember having Clinque happy at some point. More recently ive worn coco mademoiselle but I got rid of everything as didn't wear it.

Remember that body shop stuff that everyone had? I hated it. Can't remember what it was.

QueenCardigan · 18/06/2015 08:14

Cross post. Dewberry, that was it!

QueenCardigan · 18/06/2015 08:15

Oh shop hope you're ok Flowers

QueenCardigan · 18/06/2015 08:16

I associate loads of music with memories. Just hearing the opening of take my breath away can almost reduce me to tears because of something that happened years ago.

QueenCardigan · 18/06/2015 08:20

Just found some Anais anais which ive kept so just had a spray!

AmberNectarine · 18/06/2015 08:23

I wore Tommy Girl when I was a teenager. A boy I liked mentioned he liked that perfume so I just about bathed in it for a few weeks. Reader, I slept with him.

Coco Mademoiselle was what I wore when DH and I first started seeing each other so the smell of it always reminds me of falling in love :)

AmberNectarine · 18/06/2015 08:23

Oh and who let maz join? That means I'm no longer the youngest Wink

MarshaBrady · 18/06/2015 08:33

Tresor! That rings a big bell. Think that was the car one.

BrandyAlexander · 18/06/2015 09:01

ThanksThanksThanks For Shop.

I don't think I had a favourite perfume in my 20s but people have always tended to buy me a lot of perfumes! Over the last year I have been diligently working through them all, so just about to finish Issey Miyake.

When I got married, I decided to choose a brand new perfume that I had never worn before, so that I would always associate it with that day. It was Michael Kors. Just a sniff of it brings back terrific memories of my wedding and honeymoon so I only ever wear it the 2 months of the year that were the month I got married and the month we were away on honeymoon (we were away for almost a month).

maradesbois · 18/06/2015 09:06

Morning!

My mum wore Anais Anais too, reminds me of her getting ready for what at the time seemed glamourous evenings out. My sisters and I pronounced it 'anay anay' and loved swiping it, the smell is definitely my Madeleine de Proust moment Smile.

Shop oh yes loved going into body shop for some dewberry when I was at school. There was another sickly one fuzzy peach that think was body shop too. Hope you're not worrying about the op, take care.

Marsha what sort of bag do you use for work? Presume you have to carry quite a bit about with you.

Last night I made an impromptu NAP sale order, will be back with links.

shopafrolic · 18/06/2015 10:07

Sorry Amber she's stolen your crown must pay more attention when recruiting Grin
LOL at "reader"

Just went back and read the 1st edition again - so much drama! Shame so many left.....
Here's my first post:

I wondered where you'd been hiding! I'm one of the lurkers, usually too scared to post but I have a question to ask and I thought you might be well placed to help. I'm kind of anxious about asking as I don't want to get loads of haters and there seemed to be quite a lot of negativity knocking about earlier but I'm hoping they've all moved on.
I'm 39 turning 40 shock in November. As my present my DH has given me £1000 to spend on a day out with a personal shopper. I feel really overwhelmed as have never had this amount of money to spend in one hit and I want to spend it wisely. But I have no idea where to start. I have an 18mth DS so things need to be washable and I am usually fairly rubbish with man made fabrics as they make me sweat blush.
I have been told I am missing blouses, dresses, trousers from my wardrobe (I live in skinnies, t-shirts and these boots www.hudsonshoes.com/horrigan-beige-suede.html most of the time. I have also been told I lack colour and print. I have short dark hair, am 5ft 9 with 32 inch legs, size 14, fair skin.
Am a little terrified that I may come home with £1,000 worth of clothes that I will never wear. How can I avoid making mistakes? What would you buy?
Have started to collate some ideas here.....

Hope you ladies can help as you seem to be a friendly bunch with some great ideas.........

LOTS has changed since I became a Voguette - I've dropped a dress size, can easily spend £1,000 without blinking (if I had it to spend) and I know how to do emoticons now! Grin Grin Oh and I drink far more exciting cocktails now (thanks Linus DH)

YY Mara the sickly peach one - yuck
Please do link - I need to do some vicarious shopping. Are you in your new place yet?

OP posts:
Cranagh · 18/06/2015 10:21

I remember your post, Shop. I'm still in touch with a lot of the W&A crowd.

I liked Tommy Girl too, I like Chanel now, still using your Jo Malone, Shop. Like QueenC it's music rather than perfume that takes me back.

Woke up with buyer's remorse and have been trying to cancel the AH order but can't get through. Gah.

Love that Céline bag, Liberty!

MarshaBrady · 18/06/2015 10:39

Mara this is rather a feat but I use the Celine! I carry a pen and a small note pad. Most of what I do in meetings is present so the account manager takes their lap top of USB. I daren't take out my beautiful new apple laptop.

I did consider the Smythson tote at one point for same reason, they do good sales.

Shop so glad that you are here and everyone too. Am definitely up for 100th big do. I had warm fuzzy thoughts on the district line yesterday about having this.

Want to wave to Santa, Sleep and Grumpy too, thinking of you on the 60th vol.

MarshaBrady · 18/06/2015 10:40

I need to do a NaP order, not sure how long to wait.

LinusDKD · 18/06/2015 11:20

Flowers for shop! I hope you're ok!

amber my teenage crush wore Cool Water by Davidoff so I used to religiously sniff the tester in the shops Blush I never slept with him

Another popular perfume amongst teenage boys in my school was Drakar Noir. Very manly bottle and name but I don't remember the scent.

Love that Céline bag lib and Trotteur means toddler in French if I'm not mistaken so it's a very cute name for a bag.

AmberNectarine · 18/06/2015 11:23

I remember your first post shop. How funny. Yes I dare say none of us would struggle to spend £1,000 if we got our hot little hands on it!

AmberNectarine · 18/06/2015 11:24

My toyboy boyfriend (I was 19, he 17) wore cool water as well. I think of him whenever I smell it. Man he was fit, proper six pack etc. Saw him recently - he's 28 and fat. Shame.

LinusDKD · 18/06/2015 11:24

Forget what I said about toddlers, apparently it's either a baby walker or a horse that trotts. Blush

maradesbois · 18/06/2015 11:53

Ah Cool Water. My first boyfriend wore it too, at the time I thought it was the best smell on earth!

Shop Your first post is fab! Early MNV sounds dramatic though haters and all, glad it's a happy place now! Currently in the process of moving, we've rented furnished so quite easy. Am packing now to bring a whole lot of stuff down tonight. New place is a big downsize but will be fun for a year or so plus area is fab.

Marsha no way re the Celine! Was thinking maybe a small bag like trio size for personal stuff then rucksack like kanken for files and laptop (shiny new apple, snap). Don't know if I can do a canvas rucksack outside dc stuff & picnics etc though.

So, NAP order as follows:

Equipment dress. Not sure about colours and risk looking like a swatch of colefax & fowler fabric but worth a try.

Zeus & Dione dress. Bit more undone & hippyish than my normal style but thinking summer holiday evenings with gold flats.

Madewell top. To wear with denim shorts or jeans. Not a great discount but need more non tee tops.
