I am enjoying all the perfume reminiscing - strangely, whilst I always wear perfume now, and did before I had the dc's, I couldn't bear to wear it when I was pregnant and when they were all small. Was anyone else like this?

I did lurk on mnv for ages before actually joining in and was really nervous about doing so. I felt I was far too old! Needless to say, I was made to feel very welcome.

So, tried this dress yesterday but was a bit meh so didnt buy. In the shop it retailed at £80 so cheaper online.

Also this dress which I liked but didn't love so again didn't buy.

This linen top is what I did buy; went to put it on this am and found the SA had left on the security tag. V frustrating.

Shop what lovely packaging. I had my top beautifully wrapped yesterday with a spray of perfume - my friend was but I love all that sales point schmoozing!

Oh and completely forgot to say lovely purchases Mara, I totally love the Zeus and Dion dress - that colour will be fab on you. Also, hope that packing is going well and good luck for the actual move.

I don't remember my first post but i lurked for ages, i was worried i wouldn't fit in because i'm, well, a poor student! Obviously, i couldn't have been more wrong and was welcomed with as much love and acceptance as everyone else. I'm happy to be here

coty L'Amaint is the scent of my mum, she wore it all the time. I have one of her bottles tucked away and have a little sniff every now and then. She also wore Clinque Aromatics for special occasions. Lnyx Africa and brut remind me of my brothers in the 90's, and their friends, all getting ready to go out to the nightclub in their shiny shirts and proper shoes and trousers.

I'm also loving the perfume talk. Like many of you I was a perfume flirt in my 20s and probably owned every perfume Boots sold. My 1st proper perfume was Anay Anay which I bought on a ferry with some money left over from a school trip. I remember all the boys buying Drakkar Noir . I remember really detesting Poison found it really overpowering.

Can't believe MNV is 3 years old. I joined around a year ago I think and my wardrobe is much better for it. I feel I'm buying less tatt and making more considered purchases. I'm spending more on single items but am spending less money, I think.

Well apart from a £40 pair of white Top Shop Baxters. Been looking for a pair for ages and online but could never find my size, until today. They are a great fit, am very pleased.

Haven't heard anything about a southern heatwave! It's going to rain here on Sat. Can't complain too much though as it's been quite warm (and windy).

Went out tonight with my brother and dh, it was lovely. And on my way home the sky was still tinged with blue at 10.30.

I'm going to get my annual pang of please don't let the days get shorter. It happens so quickly, I love the long days.

where should I go next week for inexpensive jeans? I really need a smaller size now but I haven't got a lot to spend, especially on something that might not fit still in a couple of months time. looking for skinny shape rather than flare

No Southern heatwave here either - we've just been huddled sitting around the fire pit (drinking wine, natch).

First one in the new place so am spending today unpacking boxes. Love organising things, dh is under instructions not to touch anything but has already managed to commandeer most of the wardrobe and shoe storage space. I sense a battle ahead!

One I second New Look for jeans, they're well cut and look more expensive than they are.

Betty glad you're happy with the white Baxters. I tried them but all wrong on me, love white jeans though.

I love the longer evenings, only my DDs won't go to sleep and are grumpy in the mornings!

Mercantile London sale is on. I got white Current/Elliot fling jeans a while a go (recommended by La Santa) so ordered blue in the sale.
