New thread!

Thanks back to 2 and mrs guy, I'll try those.
I've just been looking at Ruth crillys videos and posts, and her skin, although younger, is fairly similiar to mine and she does certain things I would which is good to see and to confirm my instincts have been ok. But I've been sticking too regimentally to CH regime so I think I can relax a bit and not stick on extra moisturiser when I feel I don't need it or acid tone when I thought I should etc.

Itsalldramarama · 27/05/2015 09:25

Holden .. I've been using Nivea in the blue tub for an over night moisture boost !! Looks like an oil slick but super soft and plump by morning !

plumstone · 27/05/2015 17:10

Thanks for a fab trip to Selfridges BigButtons - me and my sparkly new lipgloss are very happy together Grin

also meant to quiz you re sentinels - what is it that you use and where from???? thanks xoxo

Holdonforonemoreday · 27/05/2015 20:06

Boots has a 3 for 2 offer so I am armed with la roche posay products, I have double cleansed and am now wearing effaclar duo hoping for a wonderful transformation in the morning.

Itsalldrama my DM has used Nivea all her life and has great skin, it has sadly never agreed with my temperamental skin.

goodasitgets · 28/05/2015 00:39

So I have enough money for either
Garnier sleep cream (tried a sample and loved)
Or a retinol product (indeed labs or LRP redermic)
What do I pick? Age 31, v few lines, pale skin

Norfolk you can usually get the superdrug vit e cleanser from their outlet shop on eBay. I can't link but it's called seller:superdrug-outlet

cathyandclaire · 28/05/2015 10:19

Just wanted to say thanks to the PP who suggested the ploughing-on-regardless method of Retin A application :) I'm now up to twice a week and my skin is definitely coping better. I'm putting on moisturiser afterwards too which feels better. I shall we looking 22 by July! Grin
I've been droning on about my puffy, sensitive eyes but a combination of low-carbing and this eye-cream has made my under eye area much smoother and less swollen/baggy.

MrsGuyGarvey · 28/05/2015 14:09

Great news cathyandclaire it's definitely the way to go I don't peel at all any more, next week I'm going to move to alternate nights.

bigbuttons · 28/05/2015 14:39

plumstone it was great to meet you too! your lip gloss looked great! What are sentinels? ( confused)
I had the most hideous make over done at MAC after you left. i am still traumatised by the thought of it today. She made me look like a man in drag!!

plumstone · 28/05/2015 14:58

Sorry retinols etc.

Pants about Mac, did you tell them that? Or do what I do and politely walk away, crying on the inside!!!!

EuphemiaCoxton · 28/05/2015 15:05

I would like to announce that after a few weeks of tretinoin and Nivea blue pot.......... the dark patches on my upper lip have vanished and the big line across my forehead is now barely there!

bigbuttons · 28/05/2015 16:02

I was too shocked to speak I walked to the next mac counter got some wipes and took it all off!
retinols? Ah yes. I use tretinoin gel. Got it from a dodgy pharmacy abroad. Goes by the name of geoff uk. Never had any problems with delivery though.
Which I could afford that ysl oil. Really liked it.

Itsalldramarama · 28/05/2015 16:08

Great news euphemia:) Nivea blue pot is my secret weapon too after retin a ! Only a week in with the retinA so hope I get good results too :)

goodasitgets · 28/05/2015 16:11

Is there a cheap retinol from a decent ebay seller? I don't want my face to fall off Grin

Holdonforonemoreday · 28/05/2015 19:05

My effaclar duo seems to be doing the trick already I'm so happy. I can't believe I didn't try it sooner. It's magic.

I'm dying to use a retinol product but am going to wait for winter because I think it makes your skin thinner and therefore more prone to sun damage so I'm a bit scared it will burn my skin then age me even quicker and so undoing all the hard work Confused

DrankSangriaInThePark · 28/05/2015 20:44

Estee Lauder woman did that to me once. I was Tango'd. It was during my lunch hour too and I didn't realise till I went into the loos what colour she'd done me. My face was at least 4 shades darker than my neck.

BradleyCooperwillbemine · 28/05/2015 20:55

Has anyone noticed an increase in thread veins on their face after using acid toners? I started with the Clearasil 5 in 1 which was too drying and then switched to Clinique Mild Clarifying Lotion. This left my skin feeling lovely and smooth, but after about 4 days I noticed my skin looking dry and dehydrated with lots of fine dehydration lines appearing. Upon closer inspection my chin is now covered in lots of little spider veins! I think I am going to abandon acid toning as it just doesn't seem to suit my skin at all.

plumstone · 28/05/2015 20:59

Cool Beans I will check out Geoff UK!!

Ah yes but I got paid yesterday!! If we had met in Tuesday I may not have been as eager to try!!!

Itsalldramarama · 28/05/2015 21:15

Holdon retin a/ retinol is only used at night and a spf is essential for the day . It does and doesn't thin the skin ! It does thin the very outer layer which will shed more quickly than normal cycle but the new skin underneath is thickened and made stronger . I was wary of starting in the summer but I'm too impatient;)
So far so good :)

Tizwailor I use the Redermic every other night because I use the liquid gold on alternating nights and don't use anything else ontop on the liquid gold days. I would otherwise use it every night as my skin doesn't dry out or have any side effects from using it.

ilovetosleep · 31/05/2015 13:45

I use redermic only every third or fourth night as I do get quite sore still after using it for a month, it's getting better though - just get very dry cheeks 2 days after using it. I suspect that's more the combination of the redermic and using acid twice a day tbh. I now try not to use my nip+ fab the day after using the retinol.

Love, love the NY Frankincense cream, DrankSangria, thank you for the recommendation!

I went for the hydrating version and it's worked a treat over my Hylamide serum - even after a pitiful 3 hours sleep (do NOT let your dog any where near cardamon pods, the results are explosive and v.v. messy) my skin is plumped and comfortable.
