yazzy- I haven't actually bought any yet, I need to sit with pad and pen and make some notes, I need my face plumping and lifting Grin
Frugal is the Korean mask guru though, I'm sure she can recommend some. The Body Shop bouncy sleep mask is a similar to Korean one I think.

bigbuttons · 25/05/2015 20:07

you can buy dry sheet masks onto which you put your own stuff. i do this as I am a cheap skate. I have currently been mixing my HA gel, some glycerine, a bit of rose water and some of my c serum in a little bowl and, dipping the mask in and wearing it. the diy possibilities are endless. You could easily just water down your fav moisturiser and dip it in that.
You could also by ready made ones on ebay. The possibilities are endless here too. There are also specific under eye ones.

Have been experimenting with LG and thin layer of night cream - I like, skin is not as tight as it was in the morning. Not as soft as with a sleep mask but definitely better.

Norfolkandchance1234 · 25/05/2015 21:00

Trying out my free sample of the clarins double serum - it's a bit sticky - I think it might be better for more mature skin than mine but I'll see in the morning.

Has anyone tried the clarins lotus oil with good results. Meant to be good for combination skin.

I think super drug have stopped their vitamin E hot cloth cleanser which I really like at the moment Hmm

yazzy85 · 25/05/2015 23:22

Thanks DrankSangriaInThePark and bigbuttons, I like the idea of diy masks to

DrankSangriaInThePark · 26/05/2015 08:30

msbojangles: re the NY Frankincense, the cream (nourishing for me, as I'm dry) is fantabulous. The oil also, but I hated the Intense serum. It was really tight and made everything pill. Sad

Having moaned about the Botanics cleansing balm I want to say I've changed my mind! I think because I was using it when it was cold weather, it didn't seem nice at all, it was all gritty and crystallised. Now it's warmer, it goes on like silk and I really like how it feels.

Norfolkandchance1234 · 26/05/2015 10:00

Well I tried the Clinique double serum tester and it made my face sticky and within the hour I had 3 spots on my skin. So I had to cleanse all over again, acid tone again with clearasil and put the serum on I only use when skin needs a bit of tlc which is super drug vit E otherwise I use loreal revitalift. Any way skin had calmed down nicely by the morning.

The Clinique double serum is probably brilliant on dry mature skin which mine isn't yet.

Itsalldramarama · 26/05/2015 11:18

Swimming - what do I do? Is there something I can put on my face first? I inevitably get my face wet: am the 'active' type rather than the lying by the pool type.

MrsGuyGarvey · 26/05/2015 20:20

Teladi I think CH gphas a cheat sheet for active people there might be something there.

BigButtons I've ordered the day Vit c kit from active formulas, presumably you don't mix the whole lot in one go? Will it come with idiot proof instructions?

Teladi · 26/05/2015 21:08

Thanks MrsGuy I will go and check it out (may be back with questions!)

Holdonforonemoreday · 26/05/2015 21:51

Ok so your combination skin is feeling particularly dry one night what would you put on to soothe it that you wouldn't normally use on a normal evening? And what would that be if you can also see a few red pimples about to break the surface that you don't normally get?

I think this is from an active day in the sun tbh wearing SPF 40

Holdonforonemoreday · 26/05/2015 21:56

So far I have used micellar water to remove make up, followed by flannel, then cleansing balm for second cleanse, followed by clearsil pad and a vit e serum for drier skin.

I'd like to have something else though on hand for when this will more than likely happen again ie dry and pimply after sweaty day in the sun.

CrystalMcPistol · 26/05/2015 22:06

MrsGuyGarvry I bought that Vit C kit. I mixed half a teaspoon of the powder with a teaspoon on the serum. Not sure I'm doing it right and it's difficult to get the granules to dissolve.

Can definitely feel my skin tingle when I put it on but I do notice that it makes a terrible base for make-up, my foundation refused to blend.

Think I'll leave it for night time application only.

CrystalMcPistol · 26/05/2015 22:07

And it doesn't come with instructions!

Thanks Crystal maybe I'll have to experiment a bit.

Holdon on days like that I've used Aquaphor which has really helped and I haven't had any breakouts.
