New thread!

OP posts:

sonata alpha h micro cleanse is a scrubby exfoliator as well as a glycolic. Use no more than twice a week, it's not an acid toner.

I use it once a week and leave on while brushing teeth then flannel off.

As an acid tone try FAB Radiance pads from Amazon. Use the Liquid gold sparingly too - twice a week and not on the micro cleanse day and nothing over the top of it. Obviously skip the acid tone before LG.

sonata1 · 13/06/2015 20:29

Thanks Picachew. Micro cleanse is a bit brutal. I can't say it is my favourite product. I seem to have gone off scratchy exfoliators these days. I will have a look at the FAB Radiance pads on Amazon. How much glycolic acid do they contain ?

sonata1 · 13/06/2015 20:47

Just remembered I have Bravura 2% salicylic acid. Can I use that every day as my acid tone?

Gerti. I don't have an acid toner at the moment but am now a little confused. I have all these products and don' t know when to use them. I have posted a possible regimen a little way back and am hoping someone more knowledgeable than myself can take a look and give me some advice.

sonata1 · 13/06/2015 21:22

a.m
Double cleanse (I use Akin or Alpha H balancing cleanser) Have the Body shop camomile cleansing butter but not sure of the texture yet. Prefer creamy lotions.

Acid Tone with maybe nip and Fab. Could I use the Bravura 2% salicylic acid here ?

Serum perhaps Aldi or Oz naturals Vitamin C

Kiehl's Dark spot corrector (do I need this ?)

Moisturiser
SPF 50

pm
Double cleanse

Alpha H Liquid Gold 5% AHA or Bravura 2% salicylic acid for open pores
Maybe moisturiser or a facial oil

I'm not sure what I should be using in the morning and what I should use at night. Anyone who can help please?

I'm keen to try take the day off cleansing oil.

Just finished the very last of my eve lom and waiting for my Emma hardie to arrive. Spending a week on the farm so need to make sure I have my SPF and a hat.

Orangedandelion · 14/06/2015 06:04

I used Take the Day off for the first time last night and it is gorgeous stuff. I will be using my mild clarifying lotion this morning for the first to see if no alcohol denat makes any difference or not.

diggerdigsdogs · 14/06/2015 07:00

Orange did you use the oil or the balm?

Orangedandelion · 14/06/2015 08:32

I used the balm. I did get a tester of the oil in the freebie bag.

I used the mild clarifying lotion this morning and it instantly gave me a rash, so I'll try it a couple more times then I'll return it if need be. I guess there is alcohol in toners for a reason.

Orangedandelion · 14/06/2015 08:53

I have now had to cleanse again so I've used take the day off balm, my lrp toner finished off with effaclar duo and hopefully skin will calm down again.

Bit annoying as it was looking fine this morning.

I might just skip toner altogether in the am, but Im worried I wouldn't feel properly cleansed.

Not sure about the %'s of acids in FAB pads.

I get the sort of pimples that are almost like water blisters under the skin when I switch to new products. I have to say Clinique often results in this. Moisture Surge and the mild clarifying lotion in particular both did it.

I've switched to Decleor for a change. I've always used the night balms and love the fact they don't really have an expiry date so I can put them away for a while and pick up again when needed.

My current routine is
AM
micellar
Fab radiance pads
Decleor oil serum
Moisturiser
Heliocare 50+

PM
Double cleanse, micellar then alpha h balancing cream cleanser
LRP redermic every other night
Decleor balm every other night

Picachew · 14/06/2015 09:43

I've been underwhelmed with Liquid Gold so will use it on my knees and feet. Anyone else using it elsewhere?

diggerdigsdogs · 14/06/2015 10:06

Could you let me know how you get on with the oil? (If you decide to use it)

That's a bigger about the mild lotion. I'm a fan of it for a lite morning tone but definitely don't feel I need to use it/that it makes a massive difference other than other products going on better.

Orangedandelion · 14/06/2015 11:10

My mistake diggerdigsdogs the freebie is Take the day off for lids lashes and lips

Picachew I'm glad it's not just me then.

gerti from the sounds of it I think we have similar skin so I'm always interested in what does and doesn't work for you. I shall definitely be avoiding evening oils.

Orangedandelion · 14/06/2015 12:36

So I took the Clinique mild clarifying lotion back, and I also get to keep the goodie bag so quite happy with that, then went to the clarins counter where the lovely lady gave me a sample of their toner and clarins lotus oil which I am desperate to try out as I've heard great things from CH so I'm delighted with that although a bit sceptical about using oil of any kind but at least once can't hurt and fingers crossed it will work overnight wonders.

Picachew · 14/06/2015 12:42

Blue Orchid Oil brought me out in angry lumps so go carefully Orange!

I can tolerate the Decleor facial oils and Sanctuary Therapist Facial Oil but not Clarins or AD Skin Synergy. Funny that.

Bought a Decleor hydrating mask - for £17 instead of £29 on Amazon. It's gorgeous. Turns from a cream to an oil and can be left on overnight. Delish!

Thanks Gerti, here's my routine which is similar and seem to work for me.

This morning was a disaster but usually it's

Am
Cleanse with cetaphil or lrp gel
Tone lrp effeclar
Boots botanics rose water spray
Effaclar duo
Makeup

Pm
Micellar water ( now to be take the day off when not too tired)
Lrp effeclar gel
Clearasil pads
Lrp serum for dark spots ( seeing if it gets rid of old faint scaring) or effeclar duo
Loreal youth code if I feel I need extra moisture.
