Today is our wedding anniversary, and unlike last year I actually remembered the date and rustled up a card. This year it was DH's turn to forget. I expect it won't be long before the whole occasion passes by unnoticed and uncommemorated.

It's a teeny-weeny first school with mixed age classes. They need someone for the y1/y2 class, i.e. this is not SEN, it's being a class teacher. Which is not exactly what I've been doing this year, but hey. Will find out more on Wed. He wanted me there tomorrow, but I'm on my course.

We have received a mail out from DS2's headteacher about last week's muck up incident. It is quite the most eloquent letter whilst at the same time saying politely that he and the school will take no shit from anyone and the consequences for the perpetrators will be severe. I don't know whether to applaud him or stand there wibbling....

Small proud mummy moment...DD is delighted that she has got a C in her food tech mock. It sounds a low grade, I know but she's only year 10 and what she overcomes even to sit down and read an exam paper is huge. She may well be bottom of the class in many things but I'm proud of her.

I am gibbering my way through the lesson prep for tomorrow and trying to remember I am a) a qualified teacher and have been for many years and b) I can do cool, calm and collected when I have to. No, really. I can.

Rose, hurrah for dd. And re muck-up day - I think schools have to take a tough line, upsetting though it is for everyone. Each year remembers the one above and no-one wants precedents that encourage them at such an important and tense time....it is very upsetting for everyone when it goes wrong.

Rose, that's such great news for your dd - is she doing the real thing this summer? If she is and can get a C grade under her belt a year early it is a real confidence boost for the year 11 onslaught (ime ).

Stropps- fab news - and it would be great to start off with young ones who are so sweet. I help out at the local school each week and the kids always look so happy when I arrive - it' makes me feel great ( these are age 7/8 year olds).

Sadly the rest of June is out for me as we have busy weekends planned (at work) it's the end of the season, and we are awash with big finale shows and exhibitions. The meeting on the 12th is eating into my A/L. Bastards.
