Clasps Rudy tightly with BOTH hands - how could I have forgotten your 2 x GCSE horror?? How's it going Grin?

OP posts:
bigTillyMint · 09/05/2015 21:30

Oh yes Rudy, how is it going? I think you get the prize for the most doing exams at the same time!

Stropperella · 09/05/2015 21:30

Ooh, Herbs, I think I read an article about that disco. Wish I was coming with you to ill-advisedly bust some moves. Enough wine and a couple of painkillers and I'm ready to upset my back and the local populace. Grin
BTM, I'm working a bit of a theme to do with that film into my lessons, so I thought we might as well get properly immersed. Grin

Stropperella · 09/05/2015 21:32

x-posts, Rudy. 3 sets of public exams? Hope you have plenty of wine in. Grin

Auriga · 09/05/2015 21:44

Rudy Shock ! How are they all bearing up?
Call-me-Dave, thanks for new thread Grin

bigTillyMint · 09/05/2015 21:59

Anyone fancy coming for a walk and coffee in BP late morning tomorrow?Smile

beachyhead · 09/05/2015 22:07

Ha ha, Gove got Justice Smile Mrs S, are you in charge secretly??

Stropperella · 09/05/2015 22:21

MrsS should be in charge. I'd vote for her.

QueenQueenie · 09/05/2015 22:25

I'd love to BTM... but it's a bit far for me.

OP posts:
MollyAir · 09/05/2015 22:28

I would, BTM, but we just got back from a dash to ds' uni - he started doing radio silence on us and I panicked. No need: he's fine; is utterly bored with revision and pissed off that this term is shite. He really misses his friends, some of whom have buggered off home to revise.

Thanks for the new thread, QQ.

Dd starts AS levels on Monday. Empathy to all exam parents, but especially those with multiples.

cremolafoam · 09/05/2015 22:33

oh flip how mad the kids go here on muck up day!!
Teachers cars graffitied, teachers telephone numbers advertised on Grinder , etc. I have a dim memory of , ahem, 'someone's sister or friend' phoning school and giving a bomb scare warning , back in the olden days so we the school could be evacuated and sent home. Nice grammar school children too.
BTM you don't know how lucky y'are Grin

So is Gove not one of Dave's new Disciples then?
do tell...

MrsSchadenfreude · 09/05/2015 23:18

Hatty! Glad you liked the restaurant - you did, didn't you? Did you have the Fontainebleau for pudding? I took MI there as well, we had thick snow, and were driven back by one of my Paris MN friends in an autolib.

LOL at Gove getting Justice - perhaps I should have a go at next week's lottery numbers too?

Having de-flead the cats earlier, I am now de-lousing DD2. Having not had nits since she was 8, she now seems to be getting them every other week. I blame the vegetarian hippy school, with parents who slosh conditioner or tea tree oil in, paint themselves with woad and sing a song to the God of Vegans while wet combing, rather than use Hedrin. DD1 is camping and hiking this weekend. I had a dull afternoon in Decathlon, getting DofE stuff for DD2. Got bargainous sleeping bag, reduced from £60 something to £14. Was v pleased with that, particularly as she had a new sleeping bag last year, which she seems to have lost.

MollyAir · 09/05/2015 23:23

MrsS, that's what I do with nits... Wink Although I did prefer an electronic nit comb to the woad.

Auriga · 09/05/2015 23:38

Thee and me then, BTM. Looking forward to it.

DD played in brilliant concert tonight, which has hugely cheered me. And we've cleared the dining room for painting & had two lovely dog walks.

Thanks for gold star Crem Grin how's your back?

MollyAir · 10/05/2015 00:04

Oh, sorry I won't get to meet you, Auriga. Sad

I'm back, and didn't do any dancing! First of all I didn't know the songs, then I didn't like the songs, then I realised I didn't know what to do with my legs, and then it was time to go home.

lalsy · 10/05/2015 00:52

I'd love to BTM but am making dh come out and play some sport (his first non-working weekend for quite a while).

MrsS, we had that at dc primary school. Lovely people but yoghurt knitters all. I have a terribly confession - I loved those electronic combs with their sudden silences as the little buggers died. Found it immensely satisfying.

I've been out to a lovely party, saw old friends and got back to find my top had ridden up so bare flesh was on display, probably throughout Blush.

Glad ds is fine Molly. And Rudy - that's tough, must be hard to keep nice calm Mum smile on view for all three,

hattymattie · 10/05/2015 08:12

Mrs S - Restaurant was excellent - although, of course I thought DH's main course was much better than mine but this is always the case. He had the Fontainebleau and I had a coque de merangue and chocolate mouse which was delicious ( I did raid the Fontainebleau for nutsSmile).

bigTillyMint · 10/05/2015 09:05

Ah Cremo, I'm afraid some of that might sound a bit tame to some of the students at DD's school!
But how would they get the teachers phone no.s - that's a CP issue!!!

MrsS, you had insider info, didn't youWink Clearly Cameron wants to make unpopular changes if he has appointed him. And thank God he's not back to Education.

And I have never used chemicals - a NittyGritty comb saw off the buggers the couple of times DD had them!

Herbs, it wasn't a 70's/80's disco then? How disappointing.

Lalsy, Grin at your crop-top! How did you not notice? I bet it just happened when you put your coat on.

MontserratCaballe · 10/05/2015 09:21

Thank you for the new thread, QQ.

Sorry I can't do BP today. I worked yesterday and need to take children to various places today so need to be around.

MrsS - I hate nits. We currently have an infestation and DS is crawling with them. I got up this am with one on my eyebrow Shock. He will be hedrinned this afternoon and I will go at myself with the nitty gritty. Though not on my eyebrows. They are fortunately not that bushy, although as I age they get the odd mad long one.

Rosebag · 10/05/2015 10:19

Maybe those of us in the Norf London minority should have an equivalent of BP for impromptu MU's, coffee and cake and bracing walks? Highgate Woods, Primrose Hill, Alexandra Park?

Molly that must have been scary….glad DS is after all, ok. Best of luck to your DD. DS2 is now on study leave for first AS later on in the week.

And gosh Rudy that's quite a thing…I suppose there's some merit in getting it over with all together…if you survive it... Grin I send you Wine, chocolate and fortitude.

No dancing Herbs…not even around the handbag? What kind of disco was it then…I'm with you if it was club tunes…can't dance easily to that if you were brought up with Saturday Night Fever…..and Rose Royce….KC and the Sunshine Band… Grin

I have to admit to being a proponent of chemical warfare when it comes to the nitty buggers. I once had to send DS1 to summer day camp with instructions not to take off his baseball cap even for one moment, such was the infestation… DD never got them….I think they don't like long, curly
birds nest hair…the buggers can't get to the scalp for their daily drink…

I'm not sure I want to read the thread on DS's school muck up….I can't seems to find it anyway. DS is terribly upset but says the current year 11's have been a really difficult year apparently. The media have had a bit of a field day but it'll be wrapping fish soon enough. We could do without the publicity…it's been a bit of an annus horribilis for the school with one thing and another.

Tilly how is DS this morning?

Great production of Comedy of Errors last night…lovely to see the DC and their friends killing themselves laughing.
Now back to the Art homework….shoot me somebody Shock

motherinferior · 10/05/2015 10:46

Morning all. I had to go to posh party (Drapers Hall) full of Tories last night Shock. (DP went to boarding school. A friend's 50th.) At least the champagne was good. And I met his ex, who is even shorter than I am. Apparently she felt a bit awkward - I was trying not to muscle in on their conversation in some bonkers "we are a couple now" way (the way recommended on many bonkers MN threads where the assumption is that all exes are to be feared for their predatory tendencies) but I hope this didn't seem standoffish.

motherinferior · 10/05/2015 10:47

And I bet I was the only person in a charity shop frockGrin
