Unilateral decision... No space for consultation. Call me Dave...

It's too good not to share, isn't it.

Right. Am downing tools and going to bed!

QueenQueenie · 01/06/2015 22:41

Like Crepeys on the Edge of an Exam Related Nervous Breakdown...

June-o the Fabulous Crepeys?

Midsummer Night's Crepes

MI that B and B is completely hideous sounding and also hilarious! Made me snort with laughter - especially the photos of the painted over window. You couldn't make it up. If it wasn't so filthy sounding I'd beg you to go and report back!

"Juuuune?" Pronounced like Terry Scott in much loved 70s sitcom, Terry and June.

cremolafoam · 01/06/2015 23:05

Oh QQ I like Midsummers night Crepeys, but fear Crepeys on the. verge of an Examination Meltdown is prob more apropos

hattymattie · 02/06/2015 06:26

We could have exam breakdown first then midsummer night for the thread after (even though midsummer may have passed).

bigTillyMint · 02/06/2015 06:33

I am hoping I am more than half-way past the verge of an exam-related breakdown, but I think there may be a post-exam-partying-related breakdown on the horizon tooGrin

Blackduck · 02/06/2015 07:19

Hmm posted but not there....
Grim weather here and ds has sailing Grin

Any crepey know anything about governance? (Eg clerk of the board type stuff, or being on a board?). Seen a job I'd kill for - nearer home, 0.8 and same dosh....... What's not to like?

MrsSchadenfreude · 02/06/2015 07:35

Just a bit grey here, BD, although our heating has come on.

Started this morning with a row with DH and the neighbour tapping at the door at 0710 made me snappy.

Blackduck · 02/06/2015 07:38

It's not cold just grey and blowy....

Dp doesn't talk in the morning - impossible to row :)

Rosebag · 02/06/2015 08:11

Women on the verge of an examination Crepedown Grin

motherinferior · 02/06/2015 08:18

BD, it's not my speciality but I've done the odd bit on it and am sure I could find you someone.

Back to the desk. The idea is that I bash a lot into shape before going out to sing this afternoon. So far it's working.

I do feel Something Should Be Done about that B&B. The no refund to a confused 80-year-old really takes the biscuit.

Newbies'n'lurkers, how're you doing? Come on in, the Crepeys are lovely...

I would also like to add for the record that I cooked a Proper Meal last night, involving two sorts of curry (OK one was the remains of a chickpea and aubergine one from last week and the other was v easy fish one using the fish moli sauce that I've recommended before (N&L this is available from Lalsy) and everyone liked it).

lalsy · 02/06/2015 08:22

MI, there was a piece on - possibly - you and yours about businesses adopting policies that are friendly to those with dementia or vulnerable in other ways. I think it was about financial products. You might be able to find it, or in any case it might be worth dropping a line to Trading Standards (locally) if they do B and Bs or if not whoever does - I am guessing that B and B may be on someone's radar so your exerience might be part of a jigsaw.

Exam season been peaceful if dull here - I agree BTM, about the party season!

lalsy · 02/06/2015 08:24

Yes, newfolk, we have our own cookbook Grin. If you would like it, just PM me and I can send you a link to a pdf.

beachyhead · 02/06/2015 08:28

BD, I'll try to drag something out of the Compliance officer this morning. I have friends who have gone the non-exec route and it does vary massively from board to board, in terms of responsibilities and time.

Flaming June Crepeys for me, but my memory is so bad, I think we've had that one!

I am wearing navy blue eyeliner today..... Not Claudia heavy, but there alright.

Dh is suffering heavily from hay fever, which means he's running around, frantically trying to hermetically seal the house SmileSmile I foresee another night in the spare room. Otherwise it's like sleeping next to a guinea pig.

motherinferior · 02/06/2015 08:44

DD2 is 12 on Midsummer Night's Eve. I must get her this Tshirt.

I also have to select my own birthday presents, apparently, from the girls as nobody has been @rsed to go to the shoppes.

beachyhead · 02/06/2015 08:47

You could have one of those MI GrinGrin

MrsSchadenfreude · 02/06/2015 09:01

The B & B don't seem to give a shit about their reputation, MI. I'm amazed they're still going. (Love the tee shirt!)

Neighbour seems to be standing on our landing. He appeared with the shopping delivery ("Is that for me? Who is it? Is it the postman?") and is still there. I'm afraid that one day I am really going to snap with him and tell him to fuck off. Sad

motherinferior · 02/06/2015 09:18

Trading Standards say f8ck-all they can do Angry according to the halitostic youth to whom I spoke.

Blackduck · 02/06/2015 09:39

Thanks all re governance. The job is Clerk to the Board so actually doing the work, not sitting on the board, but any insights would be good!

Blackduck · 02/06/2015 09:40

lovin' that t shirt...

Rosebag · 02/06/2015 09:57

BD DH is treasurer of a theatre board of trustees. Suspect you'd be great at the job if you can deal with some of the atrocious shenanigans and power struggles that go on...Grin go for it and good luck to you. They'll be lucky to have you!

MI trading standards will list the complaints and try to visit...at least they do in our area. Is the hotel AA or RAC rated? If so I'm sure they'd listen to you...otherwise social media is your weapon.... What about one of those programmes...the one Ann Robinson used to present...or you could try a solicitors 7 day letter. And if any of you subscribe to Which ( the publication) they have a free legal representation service. I imagine it's a case of caveat emptor (sp?) but worth a try. Angry on your behalf.

I am beginning my last day of work ( with the exception of Thursday night) until heaven knows when...at least September. This doesn't feel good at all. Sad......

I like something with Crepedown in it...lol

MollyAir · 02/06/2015 10:38

I'm unduly upset about the death of Charles Kennedy. Sad I know he had a problem with alcohol, but it is still so young.

whattodoforthebest2 · 02/06/2015 10:41

Hello again. It's very interesting reading all the goings-on in the Crepehood.

That T-shirt is fab, shame there aren't larger sizes.

BTM, your comment about post-exam partying is on the nail. I've agreed to allow DD to invite 7 friends here for Prom preparation and staying over. Apparently there's more involved, which was news to me. They will be returning after 2 hrs of Prom to change for the PP party and then off again for shenanigans at Some Boy's house/garden/fields (!) until the early hours. Fortunately organising a limo for this is not only extortionate but logistically impossible, so it'll be mini-cabs all round.

MI - I'm amazed that the B&B aren't more concerned about their reputation - everywhere I've stayed over the past few years has been very concerned about feedback and customer satisfaction. Maybe they're behind the times, tech-wise?
