Unilateral decision... No space for consultation. Call me Dave...

God that thread is judgey.

bigTillyMint · 01/06/2015 15:34

Lalsy, have sent pics on FB messenger!

StroppyGrin

No Cold War here yet - think it's an A'level topic!

Blackduck · 01/06/2015 16:18

I read a bit of that thread and the bikini one and decided to leave well alone...

MI I love the 'view from the window' pic on Tripadvisor :)

lalsy · 01/06/2015 16:33

I liked the threatening atmosphere and blood on the walls. Way to go Grin.

Stropperella · 01/06/2015 16:37

MI, that place looks like it's really in a class of its own. Grin How on earth did your df not notice the abominable reviews? Or would he not think to look at reviews? (I can imagine my dm might not think to do that as I don't think she has quite caught up with that bit of the digital age yet).

Ahh, Herbs, Stroppy is probably closer to the mark than Stropps. Grin Approx. what dates are you in Lyme, as I am fixing up various improving and not-so-improving summer activities for my second-born in an attempt to dissuade him from spending his holidays in a virtual world made of blocks. Or even worse, spending his summer watching videos of other people playing in their virtual worlds. Hmm Would quite like ds to be free to come and meet your ds :) Hive Beach is indeed a good place to meet, but we can meet anywhere that takes your fancy, as long as you can persuade your dp we are not hairy-handed truckers. Grin

CV, Molly is indeed correct - Stropdog is not known for his obedience - although he will do pretty much anything he is told if he can see the person issuing orders has a sausage. He could do his famous sing-a-long to the harmonica. Maybe ds on the harmonica and Stropdog singing might do it. Or not. Grin

I think dd was up all night revising for her biology exam, but she alleges the exam went all right. Hmm. Hope she is not thinking of pulling another all-nighter tonight for chemistry tomorrow.

Stropperella · 01/06/2015 16:54

I don't bother with much of MN beyond the safety of the crepey threads. I have enough people to argue with in RL, I don't ever feel the need to do it online. I don't even have the inclination to read the threads, as the same old arguments always come up time and again and often I feel completely depressed by the rudery, ignorance and lack of compassion paraded around by some people.

motherinferior · 01/06/2015 17:09

I feel I should show you its OWN website.

The thing is apparently it was quite a nice b&b some years ago when my parents were having Work Done and stayed there. It's now, clearly, owned by total and utter fuckers another set of people.

hattymattie · 01/06/2015 17:11

Stropps - I take it you have a Minecraft problem as wellSmile .

herbaceous · 01/06/2015 17:18

Even its own website is shit. Hahahahah.

Stropps/y - we'll be in Darset 21-28 August, and I'm sure our DS's would get on like a house on fire.

MollyAir · 01/06/2015 17:52

BTM, I know all about the sick feeling; try not to let it get to you. History is a very, very hard paper, and girls tend to think they've done worse than they have (boys believe themselves to be invincible) [wildly generalising].

It is such a relief to know absolutely nothing about dd's exams and to be required to ask nothing. It does mean I have to entirely trust her. But the stakes aren't that high - however badly she might do, she would find a uni to take her, I should think. Might not be Russell Group, but something that is a university.

If it's any help, this whole public exams business is worse the first time around. Remind yourself of the randomness of it!

bigTillyMint · 01/06/2015 17:58

Thanks Molly! She rang for a lift and sounded OK so fingers crossed. Anyway she will hopefully unburden to DH in the carWink

Do any of you have DS's who are NOT into Minecraft? I sometimes feel like I am in an alternative reality to MN as everybody's DS's seem to play it (and some obsessively) DS only really knows what it is because BFF's DS plays it. I just asked him and apparently none of his schoolmates play itConfused

MI, it looks loverley. Not!

lalsy · 01/06/2015 18:37

BTM, my ds isn't into Minecraft now. He had a phase of it, which was terribly sweet as it involved squeals of joy when he discovered new soft furnishings Grin - he was about 14 at the time. Now, it is all football and killing. Still involves squeals of joy though, especially if addle's ds is here too!

Stropperella · 01/06/2015 20:07

I think most Minecrafters probably grow out of it in their mid-teens, with only the most dedicated continuing. Ds is only 10 and plays online with his cousins as well as by himself on the xbox. He has loads of other interests, plays a lot of sport (if he passes the next taekwando grading in 2 weeks he will be only 3 belts off a black belt), has a silver award at cubs and is going up to scouts, is in the local youth theatre group (performance week next week), plays the piano (next grade exam in July) and still goes to swimming lessons (working on his butterfly Hmm ), BUT does have a tendency to spend all of his free time obsessively watching Minecraft vids or playing it and will do this for an entire week if no other entertainment is on offer.
Herbs, maybe we could meet up that first w/e or otherwise we could do an evening during the week. Ds is doing hardcore thesping with the Combined Arts Week "show in a week" project that week and being an Actor from 9.30 to 5.30 every weekday.
Re: recording parents - I remember an aunt suggesting about 18 or so years ago that I record my father. I'm glad I didn't. I found it tiresome enough listening to him when he was alive. He had done a lot of interesting stuff, but wasn't keen on talking about any of it and the stuff he did talk about, well, I wouldn't want to hear it again now.

Stropperella · 01/06/2015 20:10

That B&B Shock - do they just not care??

Stropperella · 01/06/2015 20:18

Went in to wake dd up for supper - she was asleep with her face on the laptop amidst a pile of papers - and she looked up blearily and said "Is it time for school?" :)

CointreauVersial · 01/06/2015 21:37

Aww blimey, Strops, clearly burning the candle at both ends (and in the middle). Here, DS has done very little today, because he's "tired". He started a Chemistry practice paper but had a meltdown on the first question because he didn't know it. I've sent him to bed.

The big Minecrafter here is DD2 - currently obsessed. It appeals to her mathematical nature. Weirdly, the person she plays most with is a girl who was in the same class at Infant School as DS, ie nearly 16 (DD2 isn't yet 12). DS and DD1 still dip in and out occasionally.

Took £130 yesterday and today on eBay. Have to pay a bit of postage, but it's still money for stuff that owed me nowt. And there's plenty more where that came from.

The B & B website has made my day! It like a n exercise in How Not to run a business innit. MI I'm so sorry. I think a line will have to be drawn under the subject and a divine 4star b& b booked in its place ( restitution for damages caused)

BD I am currently obsessed with 1864. I love it's lavish over the top Scandiwegianness. And those dishy brothers don't half help.
Glorious Shite.

I have just been asked to a school reunion on Saturday. 30 years or something. Gawd

cremolafoam · 01/06/2015 21:57

Poor Stropps dd. Grin May it be over them all soon, poor kids.

New thread imminent .....
Any suggestions?

cremolafoam · 01/06/2015 22:05

Honeymoon, Crepeys shining in June...

motherinferior · 01/06/2015 22:07

Crepeys Having a Midsummer Crisis?

lalsy · 01/06/2015 22:18

Crem, me too! Thank you MI Grin. The home page, with its tempting description of Norwich, has given me joy too.

Crepeys on the verge of an exam related breakdown.

June is (crepey) busting out all over?
