I'm welling up

AmberNectarine · 29/04/2015 21:32

dry you are SO classic gamine. The boyish thing is a bit of a misnomer I think, Victoria Beckham is a gamine, do we think she is boyish? I don't really think I'm boyish, though I do climb trees Wink Honestly, I would be amazed if you weren't. The clothes that suit you are so G.

shop the world of finance couldn't cope with the loss, I fear. I do find image consultancy utterly fascinating. I get a lot of my info from actual consultants!

Welcome back grumpy.

QueenCardigan · 29/04/2015 21:37

Actually I've changed my mind. Seeing those pointy shoes makes me realise you are no way a natural!!! They make my eyes hurt, let alone my toesbGrin

Topazandpearl · 29/04/2015 21:40

Welcome back grumpy, look forward to hearing more from you.

Love that link Queen, I think I am a classic romantic or romantic classic Confused and enjoy reading about it.

Busy day at work and when I eventually saw myself in a mirror I realised I was wearing gold earrings with the rest of my jewellery in silver Shock. I thought "what would novice's mother say?" I guessed at " take off the earrings", which I did. (I thought that if I had guessed wrongly, Dry would approve at me removing the non-matching items).

Drywhiteplease · 29/04/2015 21:41

Flat by day, high high high by night QueenC I'd kill for the Rossis.

Amber you MUST go on YouTube and search "One Direction Story my life (parody)" before you see them . Absolutely hilarious, I've seen it millions of times and it makes me cry every time I laugh so much. Genius.

BrandyAlexander · 29/04/2015 22:26

GrinTopaz! You know dm well.Grin

Dry, love the shoes, especially the Rossis. Divine. Just divine.

Totally random non fashion question, if you could have a hand made wooden toy made for a 6yo girl, basically anything you/she wanted to have made for her, what would you have? Nothing too big!

Fedupnagging · 29/04/2015 22:50

Hey there Grumpy, lovely to see you back.

Found you Cartoon. Love that black and white warehouse blouse you had on pin.

Novice and there was me thinking you had a date with George Clooney!

Topaz Grin at your jewellery dilemma.

Lovely shoes Dry especially the aquazurra's.

I have forgotten to put on my wedding rings twice in the last few days - the rest of my jewellery is all well thought out though! I hate going out without at least my wedding band, is anyone else like that?

Dh and I are going away for a couple of days tomorrow so I have been sorting out what to take. Variations on skinnies, j crew sweatshirts and flats for day as weather forecast isn't great and BR 7/8s, zara pleated top and sam edelman ollies for meal out tomorrow eve.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 29/04/2015 22:54

So good to 'see' you all on here still -I've really missed you.

Lots going on, as I said. Now living in deepest Shropshire, moved house/horses/life a few months ago and struggling to settle in. DH still training and I think this is a move for much the better, but I had been very happy where we were. Unfortunately, business wasn't thriving there and we had to make a decision, so here we are!

What I really need is some frivolous fashion chat. And speaking of frivolous... have I lost the plot??

Fedupnagging · 29/04/2015 23:05

Novice i guess it depends on what the 6yr old girl is into. My dc's loved a wooden soldier that came apart and had to be built up, likewise a wooden whale. If the the young lady is into dolls etc, how about a dolls cradle or if not, maybe something like an old fashioned skittles set?

Grumpy sounds like you have had quite a change; I am sure you will start to feel more settled soon. Re those shoes, I can imagine with the right dress they would look fab for a summer race meet.

Drywhiteplease · 29/04/2015 23:10

Topaz yup you know me, match matchy, silver and gold, just can't do it....but I'm dreaming of a watch that mixes both metals to make my life easier than the gold one I have now.

Grumpy I'm sure you'd make them look chic. Black skinnies/leather Skinnies etc.......big life changes are scary and hard to start with, we've had one too but definitely for the better, hang in there Smile

muddlingalongquitenicely · 30/04/2015 06:18

Just a quick visit DH booked this room at Soughton Hall last night. The walls are covered in fabric, the bathroom is huge and and i nearly cried last night when i walked in i was so happy!

libertychick · 30/04/2015 07:46

novice a wooden train went down well with my younger sister at that age. A skittle set is a great idea.

Wow Mara. Fabulous room. Well done to your DH.

Fedup forgot to reply to you yesterday. Yes I was office based at meetings yesterday. For working from home I stay in jeans / PJ bottoms and a sweater! Out again today. Wearing peacock colour pencil skirt, cream silk shell top from LK Bennett, cream and beige stripe cardi, trench coat, sensible Gabor beige wedge pumps. Lots of meetings this morning. Back to back for 4 hours Sad. I may need a restorative wander around Liberty afterwards just looking Smile

OneLittleLady · 30/04/2015 07:56

wow, that's some impressive room muddling!

Another day at college today so OOTD is very casual, grey acid wash skinnies, grey ugg boots, purple converse tee and grey cotton/cashmere cardigan. Will be wearing a My Neighbour Totoro hoodie and purple floral print scarf on top as even though it's sunny here, it's chilly.

Drywhiteplease · 30/04/2015 07:56

Muddling beautiful room
Novice I adore peacock colours, your outfit sounds lovely.
Black and cobalt for me today, feel a bit wintry, may regret opaques later.

LinusDKD · 30/04/2015 08:05

Morning!

How did you sleep muddling? Wink

novice not really a toy but how about a wooden jewelry/keepsake box? Maybe one with a secret compartment, I know I was am a sucker for that kind of thing.

Have a great weekend fedup!

I think those sandals will look great in summer grumpy.

For those that have met me/seen pictures of me, what style personality do you think I have?

I think definitely classic but whilst I think gamine as well, I'm not sure I fit it completely. Definitely not a natural! Grin

BerniceBobsHerHair · 30/04/2015 08:15

Hello

Just rushing in to say hello and welcome back to Grumpy. Shropshire is a lovely place.

Also MAY20 gives 20 % off at Me and Em.

Muddling wow, looks amazing.

Linus I am not sure about CP for you, I would have definitely said classic, not sure what else. But I think you and Betty have v similar taste and styles - I think Dry has a bit of a different style to you both.

Ellisisland · 30/04/2015 08:22

Ah found you all!

muddling that is an amazing room!

I have no idea what type I am. Have never had a style consultant or anything but all this talk is making me curious. Am currently in my pyjamas so right now I am 'lazy mother' Grin

Am on a fitness kick at the moment as well so not wearing any exciting outfits.

1D fans did you see the Amy Shumer parody song? It's very funny

QueenCardigan · 30/04/2015 10:13

Dh and I had date night at home last night and as usual ended up opening a second bottle. Feeling ever so slightly delicate and am at soft play. I have the most enormous cup of tea though which will hopefully revive me before I dragged on the slide!

Just wearing my usual blouse, cardi, jeans but left my bracelets at home so I feel naked.

Ellisisland · 30/04/2015 10:15

Wow QueenC soft play with a hangover ... You are a brave woman Grin

shopafrolic · 30/04/2015 12:30

Now that I have been confirmed as a classic dramatic I keep looking at myself in the mirror and thinking "boring" Grin
Today I am wearing navy chinos, breton, Adidas Superstars and Lib's navy and white scarf. Feeling DULL.

OP posts:
cartoontrickster · 30/04/2015 12:35

I like those shoes grumpy! not sure we've 'met' yet have we?
Ok can't remember who said what and can't look back as on phone so sorry for not using names!
I feel strange without my rings but often have to take them off for a day or two , since having my son I get really dry sore itchy skin under them. I hardly wear my eternity ring now because of it. but actually I feel worse with no earrings my mum is usually horrified if I have none on as she hates seeing the piercing hole!
I too would like to find something, a ring or bracelet perhaps that is two or three tone to tie every thing in then no worries about mixing metals!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 30/04/2015 13:55

Hi all! It's been a busy few days work wise for me, including a 2 hour drive on Tuesday evening that turned into a 7 hour trip thanks to the chaos on the M4. Got in at 1am, went to work yesterday, came home and slept :( I am feeling a bit crap about work at the moment, but at least today is pay day, so I can think about clothes to cheer myself up.

Lib if you pop me a text with your email (don't think I have it?) I'll send you everything my consultant gave me on RC, when I get home tonight.

to Grumpy and cartoon

Linus maybe you're just pure Classic? Is that possible? Or maybe just a very high proportion of classic with a bit of gamine.

novice when I was little my dad made a lot of wooden toys for us - skittles, beads, a play house, a dolls house for my sister... One thing I have taken with me in life (I'm the eldest so I can choose!) is a little table and chairs set, not exactly a toy but a nice thing to have if your DD doesn't have one.

I have nothing to report fashion wise. Was thinking of buying a khaki green cotton jacket for casual days, but decided it might be more sensible, colour and style wise, to get a camel safari type one instead - like this.

QueenCardigan · 30/04/2015 14:06

I survived ellis Grin. At one point I got to read heat magazine so all was good!!

shop how can classic dramatic be boring? Presumably you need to add more drama into your outfit? Chinos, Breton, trainers and scarf sounds very classic mum uniform. Maybe you need to edge it up with a killer cuff or necklace. Or add in some colour for drama as sounds as if it is all navy and white?

blair have you felt like that for a while or do you think it could just be post wedding blues?

grumpy sorry to hear you've been unhappy. Not sure about the sandals but sure they could look fab with the right outfit. Have you bought much since we last saw you?

QueenCardigan · 30/04/2015 14:06

Forgot to add that muddling, that looks amazing.

shopafrolic · 30/04/2015 14:23

That's absolutely the issue QueenC I am in classic mum territory. It's a must try harder day today for sure :)
