Boo Linus that's rubbish
Amber why are you not a HoC consultant?! You'd be awesome.
My consultant came back with this:
"You are Dramatic with Classic, if you look at the hand out sheet I left with you, on the back it talks about Dramatic but adding the quality of Classic."

Don't read WikiHow 'How to dress like a Gamine', apparently you need to 'skip whilst you walk your dog' Hmm

Stokey · 29/04/2015 15:52

Thanks for the new thread Shop. Skipping while walking the dog -hilarious Linus. I find the whole gamine thing a bit confusing. I sometimes think I am one - weird and loud Grin - but then can't get on with the boyish figure bit.

Just bought some H&M flares. I tried these on months ago and decided they were too long but nothing since has lived up to them, I like the front pockets. Only to be worn in dry wether Shop otherwise they will definitely be soggy. The girl at the counter said they were "80s retro" .

QueenCardigan · 29/04/2015 16:05

read what you are here obviously with a pinch of salt

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 29/04/2015 16:20

Good afternoon all. Dropped back into MN today after a massive hiatus. Life's been, er, well, not boring completely turned upside down and I've been on the down low for a while, but missed you all.
Now living in the most rural place in Britain, but still ravenous for good fashion, even though I have almost nowhere to wear it. Lovely to see you all on here - can't believe vol 58!!
Will check back with y'all this evening, but just wanted to say 'Hi"
xx

shopafrolic · 29/04/2015 16:34

Yay grumpy!!!!! Hello!!!

OneLittleLady · 29/04/2015 17:04

GRUMPY!!!!! you have been missed!

My back is suddenly killing me, my back pain has got worse recently though I can't think of a specific reason why it should have as generally, I do very little that's particularly taxing though perhaps I do carry bags that are too heavy when I'm shopping Blush

I bought some flamingo print bedding today. i know many will think it's naffola but I love it and it brightens up the rather darkly decorated bedroom I didnt choose the paint in there

shopafrolic · 29/04/2015 17:07

Grumpy we missed you!!

OneLittleLady · 29/04/2015 17:15

Im not sure it's the mattress as I only got that last night and truth be told, even though the pain is bad today, it isn't as bad as it has been sleeping on the old crappy mattress I had before. Think it's just a flare up tbh but I am hopeful that once I get used to the new mattress, I will see a reduction in the pain Smile

I am starting a new wardrobe clear out. I have already given a bin bag full of stuff to my sister and have another ready for the charity shop. i vowed to myself that I was going to buy better quality fabrics and I have been sticking to that so I am slowly replacing some of the MMF stuff in my wardrobe with natural fabrics instead. I do feel and I think, look better for it as I'm not generally reduced to a sweaty mess by lunchtime now. I still sweat a lot which is a side effect of one of my meds but wearing the natural fabrics has seen a big decrease in how much it shows, if that makes any sense?

LinusDKD · 29/04/2015 17:25

Yay, welcome back grumpy!

MarshaBrady · 29/04/2015 17:33

Linus that is funny.

So we've got skipping whilst walking dog and ready to run in a forest at any time. Any others? Shop Karbea? Who else has done it

shopafrolic · 29/04/2015 17:36

I had think whether Jessie J would wear it.
So where I used to say WWMD (what would Marsha do), now it's WWJD.

OP posts:
shopafrolic · 29/04/2015 17:40

Welcome back Grumpy. Have really missed you. Hope all is well Smile. Sounds like life has been interesting!

shopafrolic · 29/04/2015 19:44

Am finally watching the C4 programme Plus Sized Wars. Makes interesting viewing about how the fashion industry has to change. Worth a watch if you didn't see it.

OP posts:
QueenCardigan · 29/04/2015 20:14

I'd like to watch that shop. There was an article in Grazia about 'fat shaming' and 'real women' etc.

So, I'm keeping the White stuff green and white top and the emerald ravello. Sadly the resiss top is going back. I love it but tbh I have so much else in my wardrobe that I just won't do it justice and get the cpw. The cardi is also going back, not because i have a full length sleeve cardi in the same colour but because the shade is ever so slightly different and just a bit off for me. Too turquoise-y rather than blue-y if that makes sense. I wouldn't say no to another 3/4 length sleeve cardi though because I know it would get worn lots.

Basically I have more than enough clothes and I need to just enjoy them and stop buying more. I'm not going on a ban but I don't need anything except maybe a couple more vests and shorts for holiday.

Drywhiteplease · 29/04/2015 20:57

Yey Grumpy I asked after you a few weeks ago, so glad you're back Smile

I love anew thread, thanks Shop

Novice was it dress down day today? Grin

Amber apart from the tiny shirts I love you! It's funny how you lot kind of have sussed what I'm like out.....yup I do talk a lot, and loudly Grinand 1D, fab, you've still got little Nial, he's a sweetie. You'll have a great time ESP if you have a drink before and buy a glow stick

Ok....so I do skip just in the kitchen when I heard Kit Harrington will be on C Evans show on Friday
I do talk a lot
But I'm NO WAY "boyish" so, I reckon I'm classic ingenue Grin

AND I want a coaching session with an actor, prefer the divine Aiden Turner in Poldark costume Grin

Drywhiteplease · 29/04/2015 20:57

"Tiny SHORTS"

QueenCardigan · 29/04/2015 21:09

Ah now dry I'm not convinced that you're an ingenue or a gamine. Msybe a natural classic????

Drywhiteplease · 29/04/2015 21:20

QueenC I'm more "small, chatty, classic"

BrandyAlexander · 29/04/2015 21:23

DryGrin The pic I sent you is today's outfit (but looking less smart!). The big shiny pink thing is the watch!

Grumpy hello!!!! I have been asking after you too.Smile hope you're still doing the horsey thing. always loved hearing about it.

Fedup sorry the actor reference is not as exciting as it sounds! whenever i habr an important meeting and don't want to come across like a numbskull I get some help preparing for it.

Drywhiteplease · 29/04/2015 21:26

I could weep
