Evening!

ellis that baby outfit is supercute!

santa can you link those Stella trousers please? I am still thinking about that Stella jacket I tried on last week, can't seem to get it out of my head.

Other than Stella, what other brand would you recommend for jackets?

I prefer jackets that are a bit more fitted so a bit different than what you like.

marsha I really hope your kitchen troubles get solved soon. I agree though, better have it redone properly, otherwise you'll always see the bits that are not quite right every time you step into your kitchen.

QueenCardigan · 19/03/2015 19:29

hello. Been busy here mainly hoovering several times a time trying to contain the dust. Im now wondering why I don't seal the door from the room having the work done Hmm
marsha your kitchen sounds an absolute nightmare. So frustrating if no one is taking responsibility.
blair cute outfits. When ds was a page boy we had to bribe him with his body weight in haribo to get into his suit Grin.

MarshaBrady · 19/03/2015 19:46

QueenC how did I miss you were in dustland too? What are you having done? It's so dusty here, although they finished cutting the work top yesterday so that's done at least.

They can't move the radiator but they can dismantle a few bits and lift the fridge over it! So we can get the tiling finished. If we need to get the fridge out then we'll get the wood floor guy to do a really good job as he's the only one who can do it that we know. Even the kitchen guy was reticent so not letting him loose on the new wood floor.

It does look nice though, I have to say. The oiled work top is nice. Dh and I are too nervous to actually use it. Still not finished though, until Monday.

Thanks for all the kind words. Back to style soon I hope.

libertychick · 19/03/2015 20:07

Oh Marsha. It all sounds so stressful. Really hope you are happy with it when it finally gets done.

santa hope your foot recovers well. Sounded v sore.

one how are you feeling today?

Love the jumpsuit shop.

Rained here today Sad. It rains 16 days in the year and we are here. Bloody annoying. No fashion news. I bought a couple of Zara linen t shirts, a mustard long sleeve t and a linen scarf. Had much more fun shopping for DD! Zara kids is great. She loved it too. Tried on every shoe in the shop!!!

OneLittleLady · 19/03/2015 20:15

Feeling a bit better thanks lib throat is still sore and I'm still whispering but I think the anti biotics are kicking in now which is good

santamarianovella · 19/03/2015 21:10

That's good one,

liberty she sounds like my dd! Loves shoes, boo about the weather, hope its sunny tomorrow,

marsha its good that there is a solution! I'm trying to picture your kitchen!

linus i can't find them online, they are very simple skinny just like the vivian but with very discreet zips,

Regarding jackets, I love the fit of marant ones I have, also chloe does nice ones, but I think you will look great in the iris one, why don't you try it again, I think they suit your style most.

queen how far till your living room is done?

We are about to watch master and commander, haven't watched it in years.

Cranagh · 19/03/2015 21:30

Amber, you definitely deserve a bonus.

Linus, I like Theory a lot for blazers. But now you have me looking at Stella, love this.

LinusDKD · 19/03/2015 21:32

Oh DH loves that film, I think we have it on dvd.

'The lesset of two weavils' joke always makes him laugh. Hmm

He has first editions of all those Patrick O'Brian books because he loves them so much.

I am itching to buy something but I'm biding my time as it has to be something I really love and don't mind spending money on.

one glad to hear you're feeling better!

LinusDKD · 19/03/2015 21:33

LesseR of two weavils!

LinusDKD · 19/03/2015 21:38

cranagh I love that one too but I think I tried on the Iris blazer IRL.

I really can't tell the difference between the Ingrid and the Iris from the pictures tbh. Can anyone tell me if they do?

I have a black Theory blazer I used to wear to the office years ago but ot looks a bit too work appropriate and I want a navy one.

I didn't get rid of it though in my wardrobe cull as I'm sure it'll come in handy again one day.

maradesbois · 19/03/2015 22:03

Linus I looked at them both on stella website and iris is more nipped in at waist but they do seem very similar. I do love her tailoring, result of savile row training unlike VB

LinusDKD · 19/03/2015 22:13

Thanks mara! I think you're right!

Mmm tempted to try the Iris jacket again....

Undecided90 · 19/03/2015 22:14

Hello. I love the jumpsuit shop

shopafrolic · 19/03/2015 23:28

Just back from 50 shades of Meh Hmm

OP posts:
OneLittleLady · 19/03/2015 23:29

is it as bad as I've been suspecting Shop?

shopafrolic · 19/03/2015 23:43

Not horrific - same as the books really. Lots of lip biting. Just meh. There is one scene where she wears a fab burgundy dress with a zip at the back. That was the highlight for me - the dress

QueenCardigan · 20/03/2015 00:03

santa/marsha we're having damp work done but I didn't fully appreciate how much dust would come from taking plaster off the walls. It'll also be 6 weeks to dry out when I thought it would be 2-4 but that's my fault for jumping to conclusions.
No fadhion news, sadly....

Cranagh · 20/03/2015 08:04

I'll definitely give that movie a skip, Shop. Didn't read the book.

QueenC, eek, at least it is done now. Our management agency keep asking to do damp proofing and telling us it won't be messy (yeah, right) we are refusing, they can do it after we leave!

I want to order a cardigan from All Saints but there hasn't been a discount in ages, surely there will be one soon???

Also, Lululemon gave me a refund yesterday (on my debit card in their store) but it still hasn't shown on my account, can it sometimes take a few days for the refund to appear?

shopafrolic · 20/03/2015 08:09

Yes Cranagh. In some cases they may poll their tills overnight so it might show up later today or tomorrow...

OP posts:
AmberNectarine · 20/03/2015 08:19

I also saw it and thought that dress was nice. I don't think it was quite as shit as the books (no inner goddess etc) and Jamie Dornan is FIT, but yes, probably not going to make cinematic history.

maradesbois · 20/03/2015 08:59

Morning!

Starting to feel human after second espresso of the day. Woken ridiculously early by ds waving a playmobil catalogue in my face and asking how many days until Christmas Hmm.

Cranagh it will be credited back to with the correct value date but think can take a couple of days to show up in your account.

Was lost for a moment there reading about Marfa, Texas in the air France magazine. A contemporary art hub in the middle of the desert. I knew about the prada installation at the side of a highway but there is so much else going on there. Not very accessible though, close to dangerous Mexican border towns so not exactly family friendly holiday destination.

Lib glad you're having a great time despite the rain.

Ellis that baby pic made me broody too and v cute outfit.

Off to get ready quickly before the solar eclipse!

BerniceBobsHerHair · 20/03/2015 09:30

To those of you thinking about damp proofing, apparently this is an alternative to traditional ways - less disruprive and less ££.

Have braved bare ankles this morning as it it due to warm up later. Outfit was nude studded slipper shoes, grey check trousers, grey striped top, leather jacket and grey / pink starry scarf.

Linus love the Stella jackets. Agree with Mara the Iris looks a bit more nipped in at the waist. What would you wear it with? I struggle to wear blazers without feeling really corporate. Sigh at the Stella site - if money was no object

Shame about the rain Lib - hope weather is better for your last days there.

Marsha hope kitchen issues are sorted soon.

One hope you are feeling better.

Not surprised re the 50 Shades film - the books are pretty dire. I wonder if it will have a negative effect on Jamie Dornan and Sam Taylor Wood's careers though?

Anyone looking at the eclipse this morning? I've got my colander out.

MarshaBrady · 20/03/2015 09:46

Ok my round up, Fired Earth brilliant, Farrow & Ball love, guy that did the floor absolutely excellent, have given glowing review online. Fitters quite good, kitchen designer in bad books! But you can't beat excellent customer service with this stuff.

It's very interesting that Sam TW did 50 shades. Not a match I would have made. I haven't read the books but might see the film to see if Dornan annoys me as much as he did in The Fall. I realise he has many fans in that.

shopafrolic · 20/03/2015 09:47

God if he annoyed you in the Fall Marsha I wouldn't bother! Glad the kitchen is getting sorted :)
No luck with the eclipse here. Too cloudy.
