I actually really like that Mrs T blouse. It would look absolutely dreadful on me though.

LinusDKD · 22/03/2015 20:09

I love that M Thatcher blouse as well but like remus would look a fright in it.

I think shop pinned a picture of Geraldine Saglio (sp?) of French Vogue wearing something similar with flares and a biker jacket and she looked awesome.

La Reine Margot, that takes me back santa! I saw it ages ago and only remember the bloodshed. I Adjani used to be so beautiful but now looks like another actress that has had too much work done.

I have been thinking about this lately. I think it's usually only very beautiful women who seem to go overboard with plastic surgery. Average looking women don't seem to have the same pressures to look 'perfect' at all ages.

Men as well actually. Remember how handsome Mickey Rourke used to be and now he's just going down the Michael Jackson route.

novice you ok?

LinusDKD · 22/03/2015 20:12

ellis I remember the kilometers I walked with Ds when he was a baby as he woke up and cried the moment I got home and wanted to have a nap myself.

He's 4 now and I sometimes tell him how much he cried when he was a baby. He thinks it's funny. Hmm

AmberNectarine · 22/03/2015 20:18

Linus I buy all my DH's jeans from Diesel. I like the cuts, slim but not skinny. Can be doing with skinny jeans on men.

dry and betty I'll pay you later. Seriously though, I want to tone up a bit. I'm not going to as strict as she suggests (I.e. I'm not giving up alcohol).

Drywhiteplease · 22/03/2015 20:24

Thank god you said that Amber, thought it was only me.....men in skinnies always look like RUmplestiltskin to me Grin

As an aside...DH is singing "I will survive" in the bath, it's bloody terrible he's so cool I need to leave the room and focus on Poldark sure he sings beautifully in the bath Grin

Karbea · 22/03/2015 20:26

We popped to the ideal home exhibition this afternoon and got a sofa, roomba and scooba, and 12 curry sauces. ;)

Here's my list of stuff I need to buy.

  1. a pair of trainers I quite fancy something bright or cream
  2. off white skinnies
  3. blue skinnies
  4. a nude pair of heels to replace my black ones that don't really go with my autumn colours.
  5. some autumn coloured good quality leggings for dog walking or wearing instead of my faux leather leggings with my IM boots. Any suggestions who does good ones? Need to get my trainers first so I know what colour to get.

I've a few blazers that are autumn colours and now the weathers getting better I can wear them with autumn coloured vests/t's (that I also need to buy), jeans and boots/heels.

What do you think would be good tops for dog walking?

I think I need to find a uniform I feel good in.

Today I wore my pleather leggings, Lacey blouse, cream boyfriend blazer and black wedge suede ankle boots (not great colour wise, but they are very comfy!) and I felt much smarter/better, so I think I'm going to,base my uniform on this sort of look.

Sorry a long one.

Drywhiteplease · 22/03/2015 20:27

And Isabelle Adjani is one of the of the worlds most beautiful women .adore french actresses.........Audrey Tatou, Beatrice Dalle, Vanessa P, clemency, etc.....just have an effortless sexiness that I'd kill for.

Karbea · 22/03/2015 20:28

linus my ex boss always said beautiful women always had the worst time with everything, so I suspect he'd agree with the plastic surgery! he always said that they'd only get chatted up by knobs and men who loved them more than the girl herself, for example.

Drywhiteplease · 22/03/2015 20:28

Juliette Binoche....

Karbea · 22/03/2015 21:02

Has anyone used this site (savannahs)?

santamarianovella · 22/03/2015 21:06

ellis dd used to cry all the time at that age, she once was crying non stop, i was really scared, Dh and i put her in the car seat and drove her around a bit, she was quite instantly, luckily it was late at night and the streets were not congested or anything, we had dss with us too,and we were all in our pjs driving around central London Grin, they both were a sleep by the time we got home but waited a round an hour before I picked dd and dh carried dss back to his room, we wanted to be sure she is sound asleep, still laugh about it to this day, wish we took a picture to show it to her when she older,

linus I think all french actresses who went down the cosmetic route don't look great, I don't think France has good cosmetic surgeons, It must be really scary getting old, for a lot of people specially if you were beautiful.

Growing up I wanted to be vanessa paradis, specially in that chanel ad, she looked so beautiful

karbea no,but they are all the way up in Sweden, wouldn't it be easier to go to London? Beautiful shoes though,

Karbea · 22/03/2015 21:14

santa yes probably haha! I'm shopping in London tmr, so will check out liberty and selfridges and the Nike store!

BrandyAlexander · 22/03/2015 21:36

Dry and Linus, yes I am fine. Thanks was just letting off steam. have had a lovely day but was trying to get home work done with dc1 while dh was no help whatsoever with keeping dc2 entertained.Hmm And dc1 who was busy telling me how knows so much better than me. sigh. I have candles going to calm me down now. needBrew

maradesbois · 22/03/2015 21:49

Aargh, chicken pox!!! Just discovered the first spots at bath time tonight and we've had play date today and birthday party yesterday so probably inadvertently passed it all round the town.

Dry what a great compliment and well deserved for those arms alone.

Santa your lunch menu sounds amazing. Love Mimi's blog, she combines my Mil's style of cooking with great photography & lifestyle stuff. Think you would like it Dry if you don't know already.

Wore ex-Shop Marant plaid shirt today loosely tucked into black skinnies thinking it looked pretty good until DH piped up that he knew I wanted to go to Texas but didn't think we were leaving today Hmm. Still like it though, will not be dissuaded!

Novice Ça va????

maradesbois · 22/03/2015 21:52

Ah, glad all ok Novice.

bettykt · 22/03/2015 22:07

Mara ah no the dreaded pox, hope it is a super mild dose Flowers to dc. Have you managed to stock up medicines, do you need any recommendations?

Novice ah the dreaded h/w my dc tell me that know better than me, so frustrating.

Ah French actresses, Dry they do have a certain je ne said quoi about them, something a bit nonchalant about them.

karbea hope you manage to pick up up something nice in London tomorrow.

Drywhiteplease · 22/03/2015 22:11

Mar will try to find Mimi's blog, sounds a good one

Stokey · 22/03/2015 22:16

Hope your DS doesn't get too bad a bout Mara. Piriton is good for the itching and baths with oats in a muslin.

I only wear my Uggs in the garden now Ellis, but did wear them out and about when up the duff. Much empathy walking endlessly around with a baby, dd2 wouldn't let me out her down for months.

Just won some JBrand Lovestory jeans on eBay. They've been cut so may be too short but were a bargain so will give it a go.

White jeans ... Not sure me or my children are tidy enough!

LinusDKD · 22/03/2015 22:18

Just ordered Mimi's book. I am such a sheep! Baaah!

Oh no mara! Both DC have had cp and the first 48 were not much fun.

I hope your little one doesn't have it too badly.

novice (((hugs)))

santamarianovella · 22/03/2015 22:47

Oh the book is great, I made a savoury cabbage recipe, that i was very skeptical of but turned out to be amazing, dh really loved,

Stokey · 22/03/2015 22:55

Oh meant to say to Remus that DH normally wears linen or similar, sort of beige cotton, to summer weddings. Try Massimo Dutti or Zara for men.

BrandyAlexander · 22/03/2015 23:43

Oh no Mara! My itch proof cp care package is:

Morning: calpol, piriton, then PoxClin all over body and virasoothe on face.
Lunch time: calpol then PoxClin all over body and virasoothe on face
Late afternoon: PoxClin all over body and virasoothe on face
Night time: calpol, piriton, then PoxClin all over body and virasoothe on face.

End result - your dc won't itch at all and those first few days are tolerable. Good luckThanks

Betty, thank you! Much calmer nowSmile

shopafrolic · 23/03/2015 09:16

Mara good luck with the chicken pox. Virasoothe is awesome stuff. Thoroughly recommend.
Haven't had time to read back on everything but Karbea dog walking usually involves the scruffiest clothes I own and wellies :) It's the one time I really don't worry about my wardrobe.
2 weeks to go until Grand Cayman - so excited! Just need to get DS a hat - I ordered sun hats from JoJos age 4-7 but they are too small (he has a big head) so I need to hunt about.
OOTD today - MiH Marrakesh again (I have worn them all weekend - so comfy), with Uniqlo heatech, Lib's black and white plaid shirt, American Vintage black jersey blazer, Adidas Gazelles and Cos cashmere purple scarf.
Really looking forward to this weekend when I get my haircut - have decided I will get it all cut off. :)
