One don't feel guilty! you were being assertive! keep up the good work.
Ujj that's not me wishes she was as tall it's a blogger Grin who has a pink front door incidentally NOT me Grin
Shop fab,what a lovely feeling.

OneLittleLady · 25/02/2015 19:17

Oh, i think it was ujj who asked, I have my pain clinic appointment, i'm being sent to the specialist acupuncture clinic to start with, they want to see if that gives me any relief at all as I've only had it once before and it went a bit wrong as the needles got knocked so jabbed in more than they should have and nearly made me pass out! its the week after i come back from florida so im staying in london an extra few days to go to the appointment

Karbea · 25/02/2015 19:32

one I'm a big believer in the benefits of Accupuncture, don't let you first experience put you off.

Karbea · 25/02/2015 19:49

I've no idea what to take tomorrow, or how much. And did you take a swimsuit?!?!?

Ujjayi · 25/02/2015 19:55

One don't feel bad about speaking up. Like you, I tend to let things slide and then feel bad when I do stand up for myself but sometimes a bit of passive-aggressive letting off steam is good for the soul!

As regards acupuncture it is definitely worth a second go. I have had excellent results with acupuncture for establishing labour (and actually turning DS2 when he went "back to back" during early labour). If you are worried about tensing because of your previous experience then perhaps either listen to some music on an iPod or tell the therapist and they will chat with you to keep you occupied, calm & reassured. Our pain memory can stay with us and prevent us from relaxing enough to get the benefits of therapies so it is important to be very honest with your therapist and they will help you through it.

Dry aaah confusion cleared! There is a hot pink door in our village that I covet. There is no way DH would entertain the idea sadly.

Shop isn't a great feeling? Congrats on your boots - enjoy every step you take in them...or just pop them on and sit and admire them!

QueenC I am slooooowly coming around to the idea of the MU. I want to but I am incredibly shy. Weirdly, of late, I have started blushing at even non-embarrassing moments. I'll be chatting with someone and then my cheeks go hot & red for no reason whatsoever! Perhaps that's just hormones?!

I put a bottle of champagne in the fridge earlier for no reason other than I'm having a bit of a "sod it" kinda day. I'm struggling with this complaint because the courier company are failing to take on board the longer term issues I've had. However, I called TS today to see how they are sorting things from their end and they were brilliant. In fact the customer service woman was so kind she actually made me cry (definitely hormones). Basically they were appalled at what has happened and they were not going to let it go with the courier company until it has been resolved satisfactorily. I guess from their perspective, I cannot be their only customer in this area so who else is he doing this to. They are re-sending the parcel to DH's work address - they had actually told the courier company that they would not permit them to come to my house on their behalf until a resolution is reached.

And in other delivery news: my Coggles order failed to arrive - the Rag & Bone chukka boots. Chased it up to find out that they have been lost in transit and they were the last pair. They've refunded today and have offered me a 10% discount on my next order as a gesture of goodwill since I pointed out this was my very first order with the company!

Apologies for mammoth post Blush

Ujjayi · 25/02/2015 19:57

Karbea I've never had a style day but I would think a mixture of "statement" and more regular pieces from your wardrobe would be a good thing for them to see. Gives them an idea of your view of basics and more significant pieces perhaps?

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 25/02/2015 20:04

Oh dear Ujjayi you're not having much luck with deliveries. So glad that at least the Topshop lady was nice and that there's been a short term resolution. Hope they can sort it out permanently asap.

I'll add my voice to QueenC's to persuade you about the MU! I was terrified nervous the first time but I got there early so there was no walking into a room of "strangers", which helped. As soon as I had a glass of fizz in hand it went swimmingly! the only issue this time around is what am I going to wear???

My backless bras arrived - the instructions say don't wear for more than 4-6 hours at a time Hmm. I don't suppose anyone has experience with these, but any ideas why that might be? Something to do with the adhesive? Obviously I need to wear it for about 12 hours. Are they just covering themselves or is my bra/skin going to fall off?

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 25/02/2015 20:07

On the style day I probably took too much - would just take a few things you love, and a few things you either can't bring yourself to get rid of or that you don't love.

Ujjayi · 25/02/2015 20:22

Blair I'd assume the bra wearing being limited to 4-6 hours would be the risk of adhesive coming loose after that length of time. They are probably covering themselves - kind of saying we'll guarantee it for that long but no longer.

Oh lord, I hadn't even thought of the "what to wear" issue. You're all going to be uber stylish and groomed aren't you?! I don't really do groomed (as evidenced by my tatty nail polish and unbrushed hair!) To be honest, it was the room full of strangers that I was panicking over!

Karbea · 25/02/2015 20:23

blair I'd imagine that it is them covering themselves! but I don't think it would be good if your skin fell off in your boobage area on your wedding day :/

How many things shall I take do you think? Did you take a swimsuit? I'm such a baby when it comes to things like this... Just need someone to tell me exactly what to do, I hate vagueness! Haha!

Karbea · 25/02/2015 20:25

blair I think I'd get one of the bridesmaids to keep extra tape/glue in her bag, just incase.

LinusDKD · 25/02/2015 20:26

I second blair's advice to have a drink. I had a glass of bubbles before taking the taxi to the MU and I was fine once I got there.

Seriously, everyone was so welcoming and calling people by their NN name instead of their real name (which you forget within seconds) really breaks the ice.

one good for you for standing up for yourself! Nothing wrong with being assertive when you have to be.

Ujjayi · 25/02/2015 20:42

It's definitely going to be flats on the day then. Courage-inducing fizz + nerves + heels are ever going to be a good combo Grin

Fedupnagging · 25/02/2015 20:43

Am loving the MV links - really like the bracelets, I may have to get one.

Flowers for One

Karbea hope you enjoy your day tomorrow.

Shop so pleased you got your boots. Have you found a dress for your hols yet? I loved the Donna Karen one that Dry linked.

Popped into TK Maxx today on my way back from an appointment. I must have tried about 20 things on and ended up with this James Perse top.

I think I was trying on things I wouldn't normally try - trying to get of my comfort zone! Didn't see any dungarees though Grin

The smaller size of these trousers are a much better fit so am keeping - just need to get the hem taken up.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 25/02/2015 20:44

I've read reviews on Amazon (very mixed!) and there are plenty of people saying they wore one for a wedding. So if I can figure out which one fits then I suppose I'll go with it. Spare tape is a good idea, and they do sell it!

Only take a swimsuit Karbea if you think it says something about your style, I guess?

Ujjayi not at all! People probably do make a bit more effort than usual (speaks for self!) but everyone has their own style, it's great to see :) And you don't look scruffy at all on your blog/insta.

It was so funny at the first MU I went to - it was quiet in the place and the barman asked me why we all kept calling each other 2 names! Haha :)

MarshaBrady · 25/02/2015 20:47

Haha Blair how observant!

Ujj brilliant, do it do it.

I'm really looking forward to it, (if I can make it).

One Thanks don't feel bad.

MarshaBrady · 25/02/2015 20:51

ps Ujj don't worry about feeling a bit shy. I think it's normal, but it's worth it.

Karbea they are fab! Great spot, they are out in my size. I'd be tempted although not sure I'm allowed to if I remember the first time or something. Also I remember falling over a few times in clogs. Not sure why, my ankle would twist and I would fly over. Confused

Good one Shop! What a great spot Linus

Karbea · 25/02/2015 20:55

blair in my instruction she has said...

"Bring something to change into for the body shape; your best undies, or a leotard, fitted gym kit or swim suit.
Something you love, a favourite, maybe something you hate or are unsure of
Something you might wear for formal/work such as a jacket and skirt and something casual eg jeans
Any accessories such as belts, bags, shoes etc
Do not worry about the colour. The above is just a suggestion, bring less if you wish.

Consider your objectives for the day, what you hope to learn, ready to discuss on the day."

So it sounds as if I have to strip off?!?!?!

LinusDKD · 25/02/2015 20:56

I was tempted to buyt them myself marsha but they didn't have my size left. I have actually never tried them on so it would have been risky.

Glad shop managed to nab them!

Fedupnagging · 25/02/2015 20:59

Blair, think that was my first (& only so far) MU. Didn't they run out of fizz too or was it glasses?

Ujjayi · 25/02/2015 21:00

Anyone else watching the Brits? Paloma Faith's dress is gorgeous. Ellie Goulding's choice is a bit meh.

libertychick · 25/02/2015 21:00

You don't have to strip off if you don't want to karbea. My consultant assessed my body shape with me wearing skinny jeans and a tight fitting vest.

justasecond · 25/02/2015 21:03

Hi all
I have been spending most of the last few eves clearing out my wardrobes. It was getting critical as clothes and bags were just lying around on the floor. I have been quite ruthless and have a few bags to take to the charity shop. I still had work clothes from before I had dd1 (now 10) Blush I found countless Bennetton wool polo neck jumpers which I washed and have now shrunk to dd size. Don't need to buy her any knitwear for the next few years! I also unearthed some Topshop Jessie flares like the ones DMBL40 was wearing the other day which might be useful if I can muster the enthusiasm after my last attempt.

I would really like to come to a MU but like Ujj am a bit scared/nervous too (and I don't drink!) When is it again? 17th March? I think I might have just invited some friends to dinner that day . If not I will try for the next one.
One nothing wrong with speaking up sometimes. Hope you get the pain sorted soon. I have heard only good things about accupuncture.
Shop love the boots!
Blair Grin at boobs falling off. Sure it will be fine with extra tape.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 25/02/2015 21:11

No justa 14th! Would be lovely to meet you.

Ujjayi I wore a long black vest and opaque tights, I got changed in the consultant's bathroom. No actual stripping required!

fedup I'm not sure, I know that Sleep asked them in advance to provide extra fizz but maybe we still drank it all!

I wouldn't usually moan but I am feeling terrible this week. A colleague has been off with proper flu, and I'm so scared of coming down with it as I have so much going on in the next 2 weeks. The main thing is I've had a terrible stomach ache all this week though :( and I'm severely bloated, like I look 4-5 months pregnant. I have my wedding dress fitting next week and don't know what I'll do if I don't feel better. Maybe I'm just stressed, argh.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 25/02/2015 21:12

Sorry I mean Karbea Not Ujj, think my brain needs a rest today.
