I know they would me as well. Make up is the other thing that always amazes me, some people fly with a full face on. If I wear makeup to the airport I take it all off and do a full on facial (face mask and everything (although I do use a clear gel one)), normally I don't wear any make up (but still do the facial ;) ) dh falls to sleep as soon as he steps on the plane, I think he'd be mortified what I get up to haha!

Karbea · 22/02/2015 17:55

I'm going out for Sri Lankan food with my work buddies tonight, I've never tried it before...

Ujjayi · 22/02/2015 17:58

Longhaul for me is always similar outfit to Novice & then change into Hush harems & short Uggs for warmth. I can get quite anxious on flights (recent thing I never used to) & I find the cosier I feel the more secure my mood. And a couple of pashminas always good as they work as pillows as well as blankets. I'm a bit Confused about public loos so a maxi is out for me.

I also always pack a bikini, cover up & one decent lightweight dress for evening into my hand luggage; such is my paranoia about losing my hold luggage!

MarshaBrady · 22/02/2015 18:00

I find it amazing when people get on the plane and fall asleep. Takes me ages, I watch so many movies.

maradesbois · 22/02/2015 18:13

Hello Voguettes,

Have been out of the loop too long to catch up properly so jumping back in. Style report from Paris is lots of superstars (looking good btw Shop), new balance, skinnies but no flares, Canada goose parkas & bombers everywhere but more of a youth thing. Otherwise marant-style slightly oversized coats. Usual effortless high/low mix, good artfully mussed up hair and great scarf wearing.

I exchanged my Hermès scarf for a fab teal one and a skinny leather wrap bracelet but can't find links to either.

Still not into shopping atm but couldn't resist a fab find in tk maxx yesterday, a Stella blazer that am sure is this exact one. Showed dh the pic and he can't spot any difference between the two. A blazer was on my list for spring anyway so a good purchase.

One definitely wrap up warm for the flight. Novice's outfit is definitely that of a seasoned traveller!

Ujjayi would love to know what the ts ecru jeans are like when you get your hands on them (& hope you sort out the delivery guy thing, that's a horrible crossing of the line as well as bad service).

Linus glad you're feeling better.

maradesbois · 22/02/2015 18:15

And speaking of flying have just booked to join dh on a long haul work trip in the spring, to somewhere hot woo hoo!

Drywhiteplease · 22/02/2015 18:17

Oh you lot would love me long haul......make up, sleep, the full works Grin. One maxi is so comfy long haul, great plan, and take socks because planes are chilly.
Novice hope you are ok.
Linus will happily take your Jimmies off your hands even though have just purchased, naughty me

BrandyAlexander · 22/02/2015 18:26

If I do a night flight I am straight on. glass of champers, then bed down and sleep. I don't bother with the meal.

The reason for my outfit is that I frequently get off planes and straight into meetings or business dinners so can't afford to catch bugs. I watch in envy all the people in flip flops and shorts! I would need to be hospitalised if that were me!

Ujjayi · 22/02/2015 18:39

Novice test results are good tomorrow x

Cranagh · 22/02/2015 18:42

Ujjayi hope your jeans arrive tomorrow. That delivery man sounds horrible. I like those comfy looks too.

Love those dresses, Novice.

Fab blazer, Mara, good find.

You look great, Shop. If the Jimmys are too short except for summer, I will avoid, thanks. I tried on Rag & Bone Dre boyfriends yesterday too, which I also liked.

Drywhiteplease · 22/02/2015 18:52

Meant to say Ujj pleeeeease contact delivery Jq and ask for another delivery man.

Drywhiteplease · 22/02/2015 18:57

QueenC pm

LinusDKD · 22/02/2015 18:58

mara Soooo Envy about that Stella McCartney blazer! They didn't have another one in a size 38 by any chance? Wink

marsha DH falls asleep before take-off and only wakes up when the plane has landed. Very frustrating when we travel together as I can hardly sleep on a plane, even on the very few occasions I've flown business or first.

I always take my black pashmina with me on flights and I try to wear something comfortable but stylish on long haul flights. I usually do wear make-up but take it off on the plane (together with my contact lenses as my eyes get dry during a flight) and I just put on a bit of make-up before landing.

This is of course when I'm not flying with the DC but we've mostly avoided long haul with the DC.

OneLittleLady · 22/02/2015 19:10

I've hunted high and low but my pashmina has definitely disappeared. Uggh, I'll have to take my knitted poncho instead i think, I'll need something to keep me warm along with my fluffy socks!

Drywhiteplease · 22/02/2015 19:17

Mara that blazer is an incredible find???you do really well in TK Maxx

maradesbois · 22/02/2015 20:01

Linus it was a lone 42 am afraid. I don't really get Stella sizing as she calls 42 a UK12 whereas normally a 12 should correspond to IT44. Anyway, fit is good. Tried on a Margiela one too that was very pale pink but didn't like so much and had a mark on it (pitfall of TK maxx).

Dry it was still £250 but condition is perfect. Was humming and haaing then dh stepped in and bought it for me as he loved it and was worried about the hit to the credit card if I got a fp one somewhere else Grin.

One travel outfit sounds like a good plan. Novice is so right about bugs on planes.

MarshaBrady · 22/02/2015 20:02

Mara that blazer! great find.

LinusDKD · 22/02/2015 20:11

I think I'm probably an IT 40 in S McCartney but I have never tried on any of her jackets so I can't be sure.

Well done MrMara!

shopafrolic · 22/02/2015 20:28

Love that blazer Mara what a find :)
We had a lovely meal - fish platter to share yum yum. The waiter clocked my Superstars "WOW! They're very clean trainers. You're brave wearing them in this weather". Me "Yup. New kicks - apologies for blinding you"
Him " I love them"
DH " I never knew you were so trendy" Shock HE NEVER KNEW?????? Grin
Novice I hope all is well tomorrow. Safe travels.
DH and I are getting so excited for Grand Cayman trip. He's said dress, shoes, clutch etc are fine for him to buy me for the trip :) so I'll stack up next to the corporate wives. No idea what the temps are in April - need to start researching.

Mara that blazer is lovely, such a classic and a great find.

Novice hope your test results are good tomorrow Flowers loving your purchases, especially the animal print jumper. I liked it when you first linked it. Am off to check their website as I'm really tempted now.

QueenC I like both your bag and the Gap curvy jeans, was convinced by TS and RI but now liking the Gap, although I'll wait for their code.

Ujj hope there aren't any more issues with the delivery man. Is he able to leave them somewhere or with a neighbour if you 'aren't in?'

Amber dungarees are definitely not for me, but you'll probably rock them, as usual

One maxi sounds good but make sure you are warm, include socks, shoes you can take off, jumper/cardi, layers, layers and more layers. I'm always cold on planes. Novice's plane outfit is a good one

I've finally found my black cross body bag, couldn't quite stretch to Bottega Veneta so I bought this Massimo Dutti one instead hope it's a good size, not too small but not too big either.

bettykt · 22/02/2015 20:47

Shop Shock at dh not knowing you were on trend Grin

Am very jealous of yours, Maras and One's travel plans at the moment. No hot weather hol booked yet and spring is not around the corner yet is it? It was really cold this weekend.

BrandyAlexander · 22/02/2015 21:13

Wow that's a lovely bag Betty. Definitely try the warehouse top while it's still on discount as I think it would suit you. I think I paid £28.50 instead of £38.

Drywhiteplease · 22/02/2015 22:22

Ooooh Betty your bag reminds me of something Smile

Shop what a compliment! But you did look pretty cool. Wait until DS is a teenager, you'll be a v cool mum!

libertychick · 22/02/2015 22:23

Lovely bag QueenC and I will go and try out the Gap curvy too.

Love your bag too Betty. I will be in Spain in March and plan to check out a few Zara bags and will take a look in MD too.

Mara what a score! Fantastic blazer. I have seen a few Stella bits in TKMaxx recently. Blazer plus the lovely scarf and bracelet must have you nicely updated for spring.

shop your waiter's trainer love put the song 'superstylin' into my head Grin. Good for mrshop funding some holiday stuff.

shopafrolic · 22/02/2015 22:33

By then Dry DS will probably be embarrassed by me dressing inappropriately for my age Grin
Love Groove Armada Lib. BTW, biker jacket is packed up ready to be posted tomorrow :)
