Christine, yup agree K, but Adrian Child's is WORSE!

MarshaBrady · 06/02/2015 18:56

Dry it's not possible for you and Julianne Moore to be in the same room, you're the same person!
Grin

LinusDKD · 06/02/2015 19:02

I actually like Jennifer Laurence as she seems a bit goofy and she's clumsy like me (tripping over things, bumping into things etc)

I used to love Joan Rivers but some comments she made right before her death that have left a bad taste in my mouth.

Apparently Clare Balding is lovely IRL according to some friends of mone who've met her. I read her two books and She comes across as extremely lovable.

LinusDKD · 06/02/2015 19:04

Oh and DH and I went to Angela Hartnett's restaurant last time we were in London and we loved it. We ill definitely go back (not sure she's still in the kitchen herself though)

LinusDKD · 06/02/2015 19:09

Sorry about the typos!

MarshaBrady · 06/02/2015 19:12

I am a big fan of Jennifer L, but mostly because I think she is stunning.

It is great she's a chef in a tough world. I feel the same about Zaha Hadid and architecture oh and all the female designers we love.

MarshaBrady · 06/02/2015 19:13

Obvs segueing onto Angela H there, not JL!

Drywhiteplease · 06/02/2015 19:32

I actually love Jennifer L....a fantastic role model for my DD, she hasn't yet caved to the pressure to look a certain way, says what she thinks, feisty, very principled so far. I think she's cool.

Marsha I WISH!!!!! And I love you soooooooo........

Linus not just twins style wise! you can come to my night in the pub! Infact MN Voguettes are just my type of women Smile

santamarianovella · 06/02/2015 20:25

I didn't like Angela's resturant linus, we also didnt like Helene darroze, I think when it comes to creating dishes and running a resturant men are so much better at it then women, they just have a better understanding and a more creative touch, it has nothing to do with how the food tastes though, , although these two were really disappointing! we are also anti ramsy, and hate any resturant associated with him.
The only famous chief dh likes is Alain ducasse, each resturant we've been to that he operates has been exquisite, specially the ones in st tropez, and le Meurice in Paris, but mostly dh loves these two because the service was very quick!

Fedupnagging · 06/02/2015 20:44

Phew, what a busy week - didn't get to check up on you all for 3 days Shock. Have quickly whizzed through but will check links properly tomorrow when I get a lie in.

Those that are/were ill, am wishing you all a speedy recovery, including dc's too.

Ujjayi and Sleep would love the links to your blogs please.

Also hope you manage to deal with your problem tonight Ujjayi. Looks like this sort of thing is common sadly. Something similar happened to a friend of mine and wasn't nipped in the bud and he ended up causing an awful lot of trouble.

LinusDKD · 06/02/2015 20:48

Shame you didn't like her restaurant santa, we really did.

I've also wanted to go to Helene Darozze for a long time so maybe next time we're in London we should go to her restaurant to test your theory about female chefs. Wink So far, I'm not convinced Smile

dry we really could be twins. Grin the only difference is you like white wine and I prefer red wine. Oh and you like pointy shoes and I don't. And statement necklaces, but that's about it difference wise.

Topazandpearl · 06/02/2015 20:54

A late answer to shop's question! yes I have a spiralizer and like queen love courgetti (I wonder if supermarkets have noticed an upturn in courgette sales?)
Ujayi that sounds horrible and good luck tonight. I think it can be hard to say what we want to because, as women, we have been brought up to be 'nice'. I see it in myself and since becoming a 'manager' at work, I have had to become more assertive and 'blunter'. I do worry about being seen as unreasonable though. All that apart, you are absolutely in the right to make it clear to him that it must stop. Otherwise, I would definitely make a complaint Flowers.
I want to come to your dinner party dry! Can I be on Caitlin's other side please? I am going to buy 'How to be a Woman' for DD (age 19) as I think she is of an age where she is ready to read it.

Topazandpearl · 06/02/2015 20:55

Sorry for stray ! In first line. Blasted ipad!

AmberNectarine · 06/02/2015 21:03

Bill Turnbull. He is the snuggest man alive. I loathe him.

Ujjayi I'd love a link to your blog. Sorry to hear about the knobhead - I'd get DH to warn him off. Well, actually I wouldn't, I'd tell him where to get off but I'm not known for my delicacy Wink

Drywhiteplease · 06/02/2015 21:27

linus actually I love red! just had 2 sneaky glasses of Cab Sauv, I'm just really clumsy so when I go out, and stand up, I stick to white....if I'm sitting down I can do red Grin.....heels, red, standing, it's all too much for me Grin

Drywhiteplease · 06/02/2015 21:28

I also gesticulate a lot....not great with red

TheLacuna · 06/02/2015 22:12

Can I join this thread whilst abandoned by DH for DS and the rugby? A bit about me: I have been recently lurking and enjoying the colours/style/potential flares talk. As well as any London talk. I lived there for 10 years and haven't quite got over leaving despite all the plus points of living up north (shopping not being one of them and I am a dreadful online shopper)

libertychick · 06/02/2015 22:19

Of course lacuna. Another rugby widow here Smile. Have you had colours etc done? I am still trying to get my head around it and coping with the trauma of having no clothes all of a sudden.

OP posts:
TheLacuna · 06/02/2015 22:44

Hello Liberty. Yes with great excitement had my colours done but was left feeling a bit confused and unconvinced. I did HOC and whilst I expected to be a winter (white was the only colour I knew was good for me prior to HOC) and was diagnosed as such) black generally drains me and the vivid lipsticks just freaked me out. My consultant's style was frankly unstylish and so therefore didn't inspire confidence. I generally aim for cool colours now but not sure the jewel winter diagnosis is quite right. Off to engage with DH and Graham.

TheLacuna · 06/02/2015 22:46

Over excitement with brackets!

MarshaBrady · 06/02/2015 22:55

Ha Lacuna we often get overexcited with punctuation here, I have to delete some ! from my posts, it's hard Grin

Drywhiteplease · 06/02/2015 23:08

Lacuna welcome, a fellow Londoner up north here!Smile

Ujjayi · 06/02/2015 23:31

Ladies...I did you (& me) proud. Managed to avoid Perv Delivery Man (PDM) before the show. During the interval he stood next to our table & staring straight at me whilst I chatted with DH & friends. DH was getting visibly annoyed but I gave him the "ignore" look. I waited until the end of the show, found PDM & used my best "low growl not making a fuss in public" voice. Naturally he tried to offer me excuses but I talked over him, turned on my heel & stalked off. I was shaking when I found DCs & DH nowhere to be seen. Transpires DH thought I had gone to the loo so took an opportunity to go have a word (we must have crossed paths but been in our respective "dealing with it" headspace. DH is a star & so incredibly laid back & calm so I know he will have been firm but not remotely aggressive. So I'm thinking PDM has the message. If not then I will be calling the courier company & reporting his behaviour (DH thinks I should do this anyway).

Exhausted. Catch up tomorrow morning! x

Ujjayi · 06/02/2015 23:32

And quick "Hi" to Lacuna. Another "used to live in London" Voguette here too Smile.

libertychick · 07/02/2015 08:03

Well done ujjayi! Good for you. And well done your DH too. PDM should have the message loud and clear now. I agree with your DH on calling the company. It would reinforce the message and for all you know he could be annoying others too so it could alert them to a bigger problem.
