Waves to Sleep
Lib Vicks on the soles of feet and then socks on works wonders for DS if you haven't tried it already

shopafrolic · 01/02/2015 22:19

Hi Remus :)

santamarianovella · 01/02/2015 22:19

I love Greece ,but DH hates it Sad,

topaz We went to Sardinia three years ago, we stayed on the costa smeralda , I loved it, but can't do it again with dcs, and dh is not so keen to do it again, I much prefer Sicily ,more authentic.

sleepwhenidie · 01/02/2015 22:20

Oh...has anyone dyed cashmere? Despite trying everything, the yellow stain on my pale grey poncho isn't shifting. On a more positive note though, I got a suede 'gum' from Amazon which got the grease off my pistols very efficiently, I'd recommend it.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 01/02/2015 22:21

Hi, Shop. :) Popping in to say hello (and nose at the links) whilst the thread is still small enough to navigate!

sleepwhenidie · 01/02/2015 22:27

Karbea on the exercise, it depends what your goals are and more importantly IMO, what you enjoy...I think strength training makes the biggest difference to your physique and to get the benefits you need to do it at least twice a week, three times you will see a difference in your body really quickly. I'm finding 2-3 sessions of kickboxing and same of weights/HIIT plus 2 hot yoga classes a week is perfect for me, but I play around with the mix according to how I feel and what works with timing each day Smile.

santamarianovella · 01/02/2015 22:28

*sleep!!! Hi stranger Smile

Drywhiteplease · 01/02/2015 22:46

We sailed to and moored up in Fiscardo last summer, I loved it. Infact you all know how much I adored the Greek Island. Crystal clear, turquoise sea we dived in to when we eventually worked out how to anchor down Grin

Drywhiteplease · 01/02/2015 22:48

Remus!!!!!!!stay, I'm a fan! you're a very funny lady.Smile

Drywhiteplease · 01/02/2015 22:52

yes please
lovely
But I'm trying to find an image of the most divine Gucci beaded, floral, full length, navy, halter neck gown I saw Kendal Jenner in.

libertychick · 01/02/2015 22:53

sleep the scarf I dyed tonight is a silk/cashmere mix and it has worked out well. I have dyed silk before successfully using hand rather than machine dye. I am psyching myself up to maybe dye my lovely Theory grey v-neck cashmere sweater unless anyone here would like to buy it

Best results are either dying same colour or a close colour.

Good tip shop. I forgot about Vicks on feet. She's asleep now but will try if she wakes up later.

OneLittleLady · 01/02/2015 23:09

I have so so missed you being around!

Passport interview this week! My doctor has given me a sick note for uni and said I have to have the week off doing as little as possible so aprt from an appointment to see him at the end of the week, the passport interview is all I'm leaving the flat for this week. Means I can get caught up on some work though which is a bonus I suppose

Had a lovely kale and mushroom stir fry with noodles earlier, my sister didn't want any as she doesn't like those veg so she had cheese and crackers. I now have leftovers for tomorrows lunch and some for the freezer for late dinners next week

Hi all. Will catch up on links & chat later but just wanted to add to Blair's honeymoon chat.

We were in Kefalonia last summer in a villa just 15 mins from the airport. Sounds hellish but was actually bizarrely v quiet & we had some beautiful sandy beaches within walking distance. I was pleasantly surprised at how much less commercial it was than I had expected. My favourite place was Anti Samos - the sea was bright turquoise. The only thing I would say is that the Ionian islands are quite far north & therefore likely to still be relatively cool in April. I would say the Cycladic or Dodecanese islands would be your best options if you want 20+ degrees. Naxos is stunning - very wild & beautiful. And April would be a good time to visit Mykonos before the clubbing crowds hit.

Staying with the Greek idea: The Princess Hotel in Skiathos is right on the beach with a luxe bohemian vibe. Or how about Athens & then on to Hydra or Spetses for a few days?

I've also been to southern Sardinia. It's a great coastline but not in a great hurry to return.

I know you say you aren't looking for a city break but Venice is breathtakingly romantic & doesn't feel like a "city break" really.

We didn't have our honeymoon until our 10th wedding anniversary Grin. We went to Baros Island in the Maldives. Absolute paradise.

LinusDKD · 02/02/2015 07:48

Morning!

All this talk of the Greek Islands makes me want to go as I've never been. Maybe an idea for the summer holidays.

Lots of snow here overnight, the roads had been cleared but they were still quite tricky to drive on. Glad I have four wheel drive and winter tyres on a day like this!

Glad with my Ugg Adirondacks as well. They might not be the most fashionable of footwear but they are sturdy and toasty.

Fedupnagging · 02/02/2015 08:11

We so nearly booked to go to Kefalonia this summer- wish I'd asked the oracle that is mumsnet first as it sounds lovely.

Sleep welcome back. You're right, there is not a lot around ATM that is tempting me either - well, not in my price range anyway

Ordered the denim & supply jumper last night- will link if I keep.

shopafrolic · 02/02/2015 08:15

I want snow

BrandyAlexander · 02/02/2015 09:07

Morning. I look v fetching this morning in my Cath Kidston polka dot dressing gown, v posh pjs, accessorised with a box of Kleenex, cup of tea and a pack of nurofen cold & flu.Sad

shopafrolic · 02/02/2015 09:10

Oh no! Get well soon Novice
It's vvvvvvv cold here - but no snow :(
I keep thinking about that pleated pleather skirt I linked yesterday for MrsR - completely impractical...... but I might have to try it.

BrandyAlexander · 02/02/2015 09:17

Thanks hon x. I am worried about dh. He's not well either but has gone to work. Fine. Except he's flying tomorrow, short haul day trip, and then again on Wednesday. He's going to be so unwell. I have one of these weeks where I can't really afford to be ill but if I rest up today I am hoping to stem the tide.

I have dreadful imagination so can't "see" you in that skirt. I don't know why as I absolutely agree it's v Mrs R.

QueenCardigan · 02/02/2015 09:33

Morning. I'm joining novice on the sofa along with dd and now also ds. We've just dropped dd off at school and won't be going anywhere until school pick up.

shop does Vicks on the feet really work? I put loads on her chest and back. I'm not sure that I can see you in that skirt either so eoukdnt be interested to see a pic if you get it.

The only Greek island ive been too is Zante. Lovely beaches but absolutely awful place full of English pubs and louts (or it was 15 years ago). I'd love to do more of the Greek Islands and fell in love with the thought of it after reading captain Corelli. The main place I always wanted to go to was Florence (after reading/watching room with a view). Dh has never been keen on Italy for some reason but I made him take me when I was early pregnant with dd as I knew otherwise we never go. I'd love to go back there great handbags.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 02/02/2015 09:34

Morning, Dry White and...erm...thank you, I think! Grin

Has anybody seen these Hobbs tops irl? I'm tempted. I know that turtle/polo necks and norks are supposed to be a bad combo, but I've practically lived in a black ribbed poloneck jumper over the last couple of months.

libertychick · 02/02/2015 09:36

I think you should try the skirt shop. It would need a 'fierce' shoe I always feel like an utter wanker when I say things like that

novice hope you feel better soon. And hope you DH comes home early.

Wearing the scarf I dyed last night. In cold Light of day it looks like a dark muddy purple rather than chocolate brown. Hmmmmm not sure about it. It is warm though which is the priority today!
