Yes I do have a big hip / waist ratio Blair - that Topshop skirt would be awful on me! I haven't fully worked out yet what makes one flared skirt flattering and the other one not so good Confused. And yes, it does win the Ted baker dress a reprieve for now!! I have a few more things lined up to order and try when I get back from Ireland.

Hi everyone, lovely new thread!

Shop - not a budget option but have you tried Lipstick Queen Sinner lipsticks? I like the 10% pigment (glossier) ones but the sinner (80%? pigment) look amazing and I've heard lots of people say the texture is beautiful. SpaceNK.

Mom a question please - how pleased are you with your Canada Goose parka? Does it get a lot of wear or is it actually too warm? Which one do you have and did you consider Woolrich or do you know how they compare, given the similar UK prices? Thanks!

OneLittleLady · 06/11/2014 17:38

ah, that's a shame lib it weirdly works on me and I too have a big hip to waist ratio, maybe it's less to do with that and more to do with where an the body your waist actually sits, if that makes any sense? Are you going to Ireland to see family lib?

Still feeling pretty rotten but am perversely proud of the fact I have managed to drag myself into uni every day so far this week. One more day to go and then I have the weekend to relax. A real bitch though that tomorrow is an all day session, not just a morning or afternoon

Mominatrix · 06/11/2014 19:26

Evening all.

Sleep - I adore my Canada Goose, and wear it constantly over the colder months - particularly since my morning uniform is indoor exercise gear and DC play rugby on Sundays. I have the Kensington Parka which is fantastic - it is slim fitting and bum covering, but can get too warm if wearing normal clothing (i.e., trousers and top) and it gets above 10C. It can be not warm enough, but I blame that on being outside in 5 degree weather not moving for 2 hours - I then supplement with a uniqlo ultra light down underneath . HOWEVER, I do feel the cold very easily. Woolwich is also very good, but Canada Goose is better for extended cold wear as it started out, and continues to be, a company geared towards arctic exploration gear.

One well done on the stamina. Just one more day to go, although it IS a long one for you. Lots of hot tea with honey and lemon?

I ignored the AW H&M queue - I'm not big on these collaborations due to a bad experience with the Lanvin one (really cheaply made and fell apart after 2 wears). Very proud of myself that I did not even look for anything for myself - but as I need to go back to Uniqlo to exchange something, I just might have to get a couple of their cashmere jumpers and the heat-tech jeggings. Oh, and I skipped over Zara and Donna Ida...and Cos, and Massimo Dutti. I HATE being on a ban!!!!

shopafrolic · 06/11/2014 19:30

Haven't caught up but just to say - I am off out for dinner and the leather leggings are ON - with my Anna cashmere grey knit that I won and my LKB shoe boots. Thanks Lib. Let me know how to settle up with you. It's love. And if I don't get funds from EBay DH will get them for me for Xmas.

LinusDKD · 06/11/2014 19:43

Your outfit sounds great shop! Have fun tonight.

I am always jealous of your extended birthday celebrations. I guess living abroad makes it more difficult to have several parties/dinners as I only have relatively new friends here and no family.

Btw, shop and blair I will send you the jeans next week, I haven't forgotten but this week has been a bit busy.

Shame about the skirt lib it looked lovely in the picture but I can see how this style can make someone look bigger. I have the same problem with fuller skirts and some look great and others don't.

Sleepwhenidie · 06/11/2014 19:51

Sounds like a fab outfit Shop, bet DH likes the trousers Wink. Have a lovely night.

Mom I've found a Canadian website selling CG coats at about 1/3 of the price here Shock - too god to be true you think? What size do you have?

libertychick · 06/11/2014 20:23

I am ridiculously pleased about the leggings Shop. Outfit sounds great. Have a lovely evening. I'll pm you.

Hang in there one and get lots of rest at the weekend. Will DP be home this weekend to look after you? I am going to spend a few days with family. Should be good.

No, no Dp this weekend lib I'll be on my own.I won't see Dp again now until the end of the month Sad

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 06/11/2014 21:17

Linus no worries at all. I have PM'ed you.

1 day to go One, look after yourself.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 06/11/2014 21:54

Forgot to say, asos order arrived. Gold shoes are going back, they fitted well at the front but had a massive gap at the bottom of the heel (not the top). What did I expect for £25 Confused shame as I love the style.

River island top is gorgeous and perfect, very me. Looking forward to wearing it at xmas/new year. :)

QueenCardigan · 06/11/2014 22:09

I have a busy day and come back and your all way in to the next volume Grin.

I've been v naughty in the past few days and purchased 3 pairs of jeans Shock. All from gap with either 30 or 40% off. One of just my usual straight legs as I needed another pair so that I don't have to be washing all the time. One pair of slim straight legs which seems to be a new style only available online but I love them. A bit skinny, a bit straight but 30% polyester so v stretchy so may go out of shape quickly but will wear mainly as my going out jeans. And one pair of black skinny. Just for this days when I want to be warm and wear my knee high boots. It feels quite a dated look but sometimes I just like it.

I've also found the perfect emerald cardi finally. Hurrah.

QueenCardigan · 06/11/2014 22:12

emerald cardi. This replaces the green cardi that I purchased earlier in the year that was good but not perfect. This new one is.

Must. Stop. Shopping.

libertychick · 06/11/2014 22:51

Lovely top Blair.

Jeans are staples QueenC completely necessary purchase. But another cardigan!!!!

Off to bed, wondering if I have packed enough... 2 jeans, 2 jumpers, 1 boyfriend cardi, 1 silk shirt, 1 print cotton shirt, 1 long sleeve t shirt, 1 plaid shirt, 2 short sleeve T's, Petty boots, boden parka, 1 scarf. Everything blue, black and grey. 4 days in Ireland...hand luggage only - should be fine. See you all next week Smile

Have a fab break Lib

LinusDKD · 07/11/2014 06:15

Brrrr it is cold this morning! Only one degree! Shock

I have dusted off my Moncler this morning to wear on the school run. Can't wait!

OneLittleLady · 07/11/2014 07:29

Morning all,

Just one day, just one day to get through and then a weekend of laziness. I'm already utterly shattered though I'm not coughing so much. My Dsis keeps badgering me to see the doctor ha fat chance of that! but I'm refusing as it's just a waste of everyone's time for what is just a virus. I know she means well but I know my own body well enough to know i'll be over this soon

AmberNectarine · 07/11/2014 07:50

Morning all

Was out last night for a few drinks. Wore black Theory tank, plum HL leather front leggings (god I love these) and camo Zara kitten heels (naughty but I didn't fancy flats) with grey Warehouse fur and a black MBMJ bag. Amazingly only had 5 drinks and feel completely clear headed this morning despite getting back at 1am. Date night tonight so let's see the state of me on the morrow.

Chilly and wet here - wearing navy Uniqlo IDLF longline shirt, black Goldsign leggings, black suede flat OTK boots and this necklace. Will stick the navy Barbour Arctic Parka on to battle the elements.

Have a lovely break liberty!

shopafrolic · 07/11/2014 08:14

Morning all. One feel better soon. I am still struggling with the aftermath of this cold and keep getting dizzy every time I stand up (no, not pissed).
Nice night last night - just Pizza Express with one of my oldest mates, really good to catch up.
Off to a Brasserie at our local luxury hotel this evening with the couple we went on holiday with. Out with the girls for dinner tomorrow and then a gastropub roast on Sunday. I'm already shattered, no idea how you do it Amber. I'm on the Berocca.

LinusDKD · 07/11/2014 08:21

Back from my run, have showered and am wearing my first ever TS Leigh skinnies in grey, a grey J Crew jumper I bought in NY with a white J Crew tee underneath and I will wear my Choo bikers when I go out again.

I tried wearing the J Crew jumper with a white shirt underneath à la Jenna but on me it just looks too preppy. I guess I need a statement necklace and NB trainers to make it work but not convinced it's 'me'.

lib have a great break!

Shame about the shoes blair

Take good care of yourself one

AmberNectarine · 07/11/2014 09:08

Remember shop, I'm still just in my twenties. In ten years time it will be slippers and Strictly no doubt.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 07/11/2014 09:24

Morning all. I just wanted to say Sleep, I would be avoid that cheap coat site. It looks like they are Chinese fakes - bad English all over the site, and only a Gmail address for contact details. I may be being unfair, you can never be sure, so I hope you don't mind me saying this :)

Lib have a lovely time in Ireland.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 07/11/2014 09:35
