That's lovely Shop you're getting into dangerous new colour territory now, perhaps you should send that independent person the bill Wink

Fedup really nice top

Karbea · 15/10/2014 18:52

Oh one hope you feel better soon.

shop that bag is a gorgeous colour.

OneLittleLady · 15/10/2014 18:57

ugh, doctors cant give me an appointment for a sick note for a week and I just can't afford to lose a weeks worth of lesson time so I'm just going to have to push through it and keep going in. There's no way I can take a risk on having a week off and then the doctor not signing the note. I'm sure i'll feel a bit better once the AB's kick in though, just got to stay warm, keep my ear warm and dry and keep my temp down.

Beautiful colour bag Shop

Fedupnagging · 15/10/2014 19:32

One I guess the GP thinks it is like work where you self certify for a week then after that you get a sick note. In the school where I work, we sometimes ask for medical evidence of a child's illness and we get a letter from the GP. Maybe that has to be paid for.

Nice bag Shop. Am guessing your bank balance will be taking a massive hit until you have a complete new wardrobe!

I asked all the new balance lovers out there if the trainers are any good for actually doing sport in? If so, I rather like these ones although will look around for a better price.

Am guessing the fitflop slippers are a step too far Grin

Karbea · 15/10/2014 19:35

one Could you pop to a&e and ask someone there?

OneLittleLady · 15/10/2014 19:36

you might be right fedup only problem with requesting a letter from my GP's is they give you a time frame of up to 40 days before you get it Confused

shopafrolic · 15/10/2014 19:43

fedup the NB 410s have no support whatsoever. Fine for walking bit not much else I would say. Can't comment on any others.
I would never be able to buy that bag - pure dreaming.

Drywhiteplease · 15/10/2014 19:47

Thanks lib and Marsha I think I always look bulky in a down coat, but who doesn't?

Dr note at uni One Shock Really Hmm

I'm reading the latest Boden catalogue....all those pics in the snow are making me feel really Christmassy Grin still nothing I want to buy in it though. Think I'm done for autumn

But

You've

Heard

That

Before...................

Drywhiteplease · 15/10/2014 19:50

Fedup NB do do great sports trainers, I bought them for my dcs who have nightmare feet, they are fantastic for support....BUT the sport ones are different to their fashion ones and don't look as cool.

Drywhiteplease · 15/10/2014 19:51

One what happens if you take a day off sick? Can they kick you off the course?

OneLittleLady · 15/10/2014 19:55

dry if your attendance drops below 80% you get a letter and a mandatory tutorial to discuss any issues. below 70% and that's when they might consider asking you to leave. or so i understand anyway Shock

Drywhiteplease · 15/10/2014 20:02

One I wouldn't drag yourself in tomorrow. I know how painful ear infections are. I am sure your uni will be a bit more lenient with you on those extreme rules if not I think they could be on precarious ground. Take the day off and stay in bed.

Fedupnagging · 15/10/2014 20:03

But if you have genuine health issues One allowances should be made. Do you have a consultant that you see for your condition? They could write to the uni what it is etc

libertychick · 15/10/2014 20:07

Fedup I agree with shop. NB are fine for walking but definitely not for sport. I didn't look at the fitflop link. Amber is the expert on those :).

one can you explain the situation to your tutor and see what they suggest. You can't be the only one in that position as it can be hard to get timely sick note from a GP. Does the uni have a health service? I would have thought that given you have long term health issues there may be a system for offering some extra support.

karbea sorry if I sound like a nag but I can't ignore the A&E comment. Please don't go there for things like sick notes. Its for emergencies and people using it for routine things is bringing the system to it's knees. I have worked in emergency care management for years and I cannot tell you how utterly frustrating it is to have ambulances backlogged while the waiting room is full of people with colds complaining about delays! Apols if I sound preachy.

OneLittleLady · 15/10/2014 20:07

I'm just going to see how I feel in the morning. I do know they have to make 'reasonable adjustments' for me and I am already on the radar of the head! I think if I whack some cotton wool in my ear to keep it warm I should be okay, it is only a half day tomorrow so not really too strenuous and I have to be in town in the afternoon anyway as I have to go for my flu jab

shopafrolic · 15/10/2014 20:11

If you're ill then a flu jab can't be a good idea One

OneLittleLady · 15/10/2014 20:17

I thought that shop but they are insisting as the clinics stop next week and they said they can't hold a vaccine until the infection has passed. I'm pretty sure I had a chest infection last year when I had my flu jab and suffered now ill effects. I'm sure I will be fine, I am tough as old boots as the sayign goes Smile

Am tempted to go back and get the other colourway of the dress I pinned yesterday. the other colour way is a dark grey and navy without the sparkle. I figured it might be worth going back for it while they are reduced to under £15. Have tried the one I've got on and it is very flattering, good length, shape and flattering round the bust so I am very tempted to go back for the other colour

Karbea · 15/10/2014 20:37

liberty you are totally right. Definitely should only be used for emergencies.

shopafrolic · 15/10/2014 20:44

Not preachy, well said lib

AmberNectarine · 15/10/2014 20:55

the red HL dress is 20% off at Liberty.

OneLittleLady · 15/10/2014 20:56

Sorry lib I missed your post. I don't know what there is in terms of extra support, I'm going to have to actually ask them if there is anything.

Drywhiteplease · 15/10/2014 21:35

Amber is it stretchy? What exactly is the fabric? All it says is "100% wool".

BrandyAlexander · 15/10/2014 22:07

now winging it's way to chez Novice. Happy daysSmile

OneLittleLady · 15/10/2014 22:19

lovely novice

burning pain in my ear seems to have calmed down a little, feels weird having it stuffed with cotton wool though and not really hearing right. i think i'll be okay for tomorrow so long as i can get up on time.

QueenCardigan · 15/10/2014 22:54

Yay novice, you finally have it.
lib if you hadn't said that about a&e I woukd have Smile
one look after yourself.

I've decided that I may try and grow my hair again as I quite like my new fringe with the rest of my hair up. And although dh has noticed that I've had a haircut because I told him I was going to the hairdressers he hasnt noticed that my fringe is twice the size!
