Ooh lib we might have the same one! Does it have two bows on the front?

OneLittleLady · 11/09/2014 22:23

Which do you think would be warmer, cashmere and silk blend gloves or shearling gloves? I need good gloves for winter, my last pair mysteriously disappeared last year

libertychick · 11/09/2014 22:27

No bows Linus. I've had a search for a picture but can't find one. Really pleased with it - exactly as you have said, very easy to wear but seems to make simple outfit very smart.

Justa I can't read the American size on mine!!! Seems to say 8M but that does seem right Confused. Euro size on boot is 39 and I usually am 39 or 6. Occasionally I have to size down to 5.5. It's a comfortable but close fit. I would not be able to wear very thick socks with them so if you are slightly bigger six it might be worth going up half a size.

maradesbois · 11/09/2014 22:38

Evening,

Shop thanks for the shiny new thread. Hope you're not feeling too rubbish.

Blair glad you had a good holiday. Nice to see you back. I love those shoes, a gorgeous shade of blue.

Justa good to see you and indeed SoyYo back too. Which dvf envelope clutch do you have? When I tried the dress on in store they gave me several to try with it, one was gold and rose gold which looked fab and was on sale. I didn't buy it then regretted it and went back but all gone and then couldn't find it anywhere.

Marsha glad your oven saga has reached a happy conclusion!

Liberty wow, what a find.

A busy day, I became an auntie again and hosted a family birthday party for my nephew while his mummy was in hospital. Ds and I made him a piñata cake, different coloured layers of sponge with a cut out cavity in the middle filled with sweeties so that when you cut into the cake they spill out. The bloody thing took me 4 hours to make last night and it still looked like a GBBO reject so was delighted when the dcs loved it.

QueenC think I missed something. What is the job you were talking about?

justasecond · 11/09/2014 22:49

Congratulations on becoming an auntie again Mara!
Yes the rose gold and light gold is the one I have. It is a v versatile colurway that goes with everything.

Drywhiteplease · 12/09/2014 08:01

Hello again Soyo your memories of your glamourous gm and DM have made me all whist full this morning Smile . Stay with us, it's a tonic. Love the image of you walking down the road with a small crocodile under your arm, v Crocodile Dundee!!!Grin
Mara congrats. love a little baby. I'll be thinking of you today as we do Mondrain inspired painting with 5yr oldsGrin
Shop how you doing?
liberty Pettys have arrived! They could possibly be there perfect boot for everyday/my job. Need a proper try on tonight before my final verdict.

My extension the build is 3 days away from completion. INCREDIBLE!! Sooooooo excited. Love it all. Am cooking my lovely builders lunch today.

shopafrolic · 12/09/2014 09:18

Morning all. Horrible drop off with DS this morning made worse by the fact that DH came too so DS really didn't want to go in! Still ploughing through the ABs and very tired. Need to try and rest at some point this weekend.
I am wearing top to toe GAP today - skinny legging jeans and the black merino sweater, unfortunately with Birkenstocks at the bottom as I can't wear any shoes until this enormous infected blister has gone cold toes
Dry good stuff about the extension. Lucky builders
Liberty I never get decent charity finds so well done you
Marsha have you been cooking up a storm?
Justa I wear khakis all year round with no issue perhaps I'm tougher than I thought?

mara congrats. Sometimes I wish I had siblings to become an auntie. It's not quite the same being auntie to sil dc. The job was in my favourite boutique. The owner is advertising for a part time sales person. Would be a lovely job as it's a lovely shop and I love the clothes. Certainly something to consider once the dc are older.

Ugh shop I had an infected blister once and it's bloody painful. Hope your tonsils feel better soon.

Definitely becoming autumnal again. I'm giving this nlouse its first wear. Decided to wear skinny jeans today instead of straight leg which is a nice change. May have to get some more.

OneLittleLady · 12/09/2014 09:54

you poor thing Shop definitely try and get some rest this weekend. Try and steal an hour away to lay and read or nap. You need to take care of yourself Thanks

good news about the extension dry and how lovely of you to cook for the builders

Congrats on becoming an aunty again Mara the cake you made sounds brilliant Smile

shopafrolic · 12/09/2014 10:09

Apologies Mara I missed that - congratulations on becoming and Aunty - the cake sounds amazing! must learn better baking skills for my DS

OP posts:
OneLittleLady · 12/09/2014 10:12

Shop a good and easy cake to learn is the Mary Berry chocolate cake that's made with oil instead of butter. It sounds really wrong but it always turns out beautifully and I'm not good at baking AT ALL. I can cook but I never seem very good at baking

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 12/09/2014 11:48

Congrats mara, how lovely! Cake sounds awesome.

Shoes have arrived - love love love the outnet. They are be-a-utiful! I am at work but had to open the box to have a look. Pics later. QueenC I am going to try to wear them lots, so a couple of work dos, xmas parties, general going out and perhaps a MU Wink I think they'll look good with lots of things so I need to have a play around. Not sure I am brave enough/cool enough to wear them with boyfriend jeans but I do love that look.

Shop hope you are chilling today and looking after yourself.

maradesbois · 12/09/2014 12:48

Blair glad they are keepers, the Outnet is indeed fab. I wouldn't spend so much of our disposable income on my high end habit fp plus have too much of an eye for a bargain. Smile It also really suits my style and shopping habits which are classic rather than fashion forward
tries to ignore yearning for the dark green rockstud flats . Think the sandals would look great with skirts or a rolled up trouser, they deserve to be on display!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 12/09/2014 13:45

Could I wear them with this H&M Marni dress or would it be too much cobalt? (Or just look rubbish haha)
(I usually belt it like this - the colours of the first pic are more true to life though)

MarshaBrady · 12/09/2014 14:43

I think they'd look brilliant Blair

Back later to catch up

shopafrolic · 12/09/2014 15:01

They'd look fab with that dress Blair

Doctor has just called to say that the tests are back on my throat and I have a Strep A infection (??) and need another 10 days of ABs to get rid of it.
Good thing I'm not coming to see you next weekend Dry as my visit would have been just that, DRY. I want alcohol so bad

OP posts:
OneLittleLady · 12/09/2014 15:04

Oh no shop please please try and get some rest. You need to make sure you have lots of time to get well again otherwise you'll end up in a cycle of constant infection. Hopefully the longer course of Abs will get rid of it but try to take some time just for yourself. Thanks

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 12/09/2014 15:25

Oh shop that sounds nasty. Really hope you can get some relief soon. and wine

Thanks re the dress. Work do has been pushed back a week, but now I want to wear the shoes. As long as it doesn't rain...

QueenCardigan · 12/09/2014 16:06

shop strep a is the usual bacteria that causes throat infections so nothing to worry about iyswim. And as long as you're not on metronidazole then alcohol is fine and anything like brandy/whiskey is probrably medicinal and will surely kill the bugs!

Drywhiteplease · 12/09/2014 16:13

Gosh Shop that doesn't sound at all good. Poor you. Indeed a dry weekend with Dry may have been a bit limp. Next year eh? Smile
Blair love love the shoes.
Just come home to find the piano teacher had walked in (front door permanently open) and was sitting having a cup of tea at my kitchen table Shock! I know I like an open house but think that's taking it a bit far Grin
Still no ASOS leather skirt.......and waiting until workmen are gone to try on the Pettys properly.

Drywhiteplease · 12/09/2014 16:14

Perhaps gargle with whiskey Shop?

Drywhiteplease · 12/09/2014 16:15

Oh and Amber I'm late again, but what a perfect anniversary present. Lovely shoes

Fabulassie · 12/09/2014 16:42

Yay! I am going to join in on a MN Vogue thread! :D

I am overjoyed that autumn has hit the shops! I have bought some really lovely things as Primark and also today I found a gorgeous soft leather jacket that fits me like a glove. It was in a secondhand shop for £35.

QueenCardigan · 12/09/2014 17:35

Welcome fab.

blair I think those sandals with that dress will look fab and much better than Frieda's boots.
