Sleep I bet you look incredible???have a fab evening.
One DOC martens

Fedupnagging · 13/09/2014 19:15

Noooooo! Am sitting in hotel room with sopping wet hair and have forgotten my hair products. Grrrr. Think I will just sit and keep scrunching and hope for the best! Have already spent some time in the bar which takes the edge off somewhat.

Blair lots of advice re dresses. I tried on loads in libertys to get an idea of style that suited me.

Dry I like the zips on the Mint Velvet skirt.

One quirky shoes that only you could pull off - go for it.

Santa fish and chips sounds crummy.

Fedupnagging · 13/09/2014 19:26

....scrummy, not crummy!

Marsha for £50, they had better do invisible stitching!

LinusDKD · 13/09/2014 20:00

dry mixed camping?! Glad DS is older than DD so he can do the same as your DS when DD is older.

I love that MV skirt but I agree with the others, I hope it's not as shiny IRL.

grumpy we miss you here on MNV! Sorry to hear you are having a difficult time.

one those brogues look a bit summery to me.

sleep your outfit sounds great, have a great time.

blair I actually wanted to get married in a short (knee-length) dress but couldn't find any at the time so went for a long one. I loved my dress but still regret not finding a short one.

novice your DH is really so complimentary! My DH tells me I look nice as well but never as, ahem, exhuberant as yours. Wink

santa I have only ever worn my Colts with skinnies but maybe this winter I might try them with a dress as I have lost quite a bit of weight since then.

queenc I might be tempted to work in a boutique as well.

My Asos striped jumpers arrived and are lovely, especially the blue/white one. I wore mine with my Jimmies today before it got too hot and I had to change into a dress.

santamarianovella · 13/09/2014 20:16

dry you see, this is the kind of skirt I'm after , I'm asking for trouble aren't I? Wink

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 13/09/2014 20:20

santa thanks Blush I just got lucky on the outnet! I really hope you can come to the MU if it's on the 22nd Nov, would love to meet you in person.

novice I looked at the link properly. I am an hourglass with quite big thighs, not quite a pear, so I want to emphasise my waist. The trouble is I don't like fishtail dresses, I think they look uncomfortable and restricting (and maybe a bit dated?). I'll probably try one on though to confirm! Whatever I do I'll take lots of pics :)

How annoying fedup, am sure you made it work though. Where are you staying?

LinusDKD · 13/09/2014 20:33

santa if you get that skirt your DH might turn into MrNovice Wink

Drywhiteplease · 13/09/2014 20:54

Santa good luck with that skirt Grin
linus separate tents of course doubt this will make any difference

BrandyAlexander · 13/09/2014 21:09

Dry - mixed camping?! poor you!

Mr Novice - definitely not interested in me right now! Glued to the TV hence my quiet mumsnetting over a glass of wine.

shopafrolic · 13/09/2014 21:19

My DH has gone to bed Novice
Santa I will do a little dance if you come to our Christmas MU! :)

OP posts:
LinusDKD · 13/09/2014 21:35

I would come to the Christmas MU just to see you dance shop! Grin

And to meet santa of course! Wink

OneLittleLady · 13/09/2014 21:36

Oh, there must be dancing!!

I think everyone's right and I should look for some Dr Martens, I think they will be the best fit for my general style. I know you ladies would steer me right Smile

QueenCardigan · 13/09/2014 22:27

Evening all. I'm pissed Grin. Drinking a cup of tea before I collapse in bed.

blair I went into a shop and gave them my budget and said I wanted something plain, no sequins, lace etc etc and they found a few options for me but I knew once I tried it on that it was right. Try not to stress about it and enjoy it.
santa hope you can make mu
one I not convinced that the greeny colour will work with black but I do like the grey. But as someone else said they may be too summery. Wrt Monday just wear something that you feel fab in Smile
fedup where are you? Hope you've sorted your hair.

I've probably forgotten loads of things/people. Will be back in the morning with my fantasy shopping....

santamarianovella · 13/09/2014 22:35

linus I'm exhausted as it is , don't want dh to turn into mrnovice it will be the death of me! Besides he will say something stupid about the skirt and ruin t for me, and then say no its great, and whenever i wear it,silly comments will follow, per usual.Hmm

dry I used to go on so many camping trips, we used to sneak into the boys tents all the time, we didnt do anything,we just wanted to hang out with them plus they always had the best stash for late night snacks, but of course these are teenagers anything can happen, I don't blame you for worrying.

shop I expect a little river dance number upon my arrival Wink

fedup that happened to me once, I ended up using the hotel toiletries and my hair went frizzy all over ,no matter how many times I straightened it,it was a Monica in Barbados moment for me! Grin, now when I pack hair products are the first thing that goes into my suitcase

one you have a great individual style, and you will look great in no matter what.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 13/09/2014 23:39

Thanks all for your kind words - I've missed you!

Re The Great Leather Skirt Hunt - I had the same problem and have tried on some corkers lately (in the falling-around-in-fits-of-bitter-laughter variety). BUT...I found perfection in good old Zara. Can't link from phone, but it's kind of khaki, gently A-line, not too mini and soft as butter. Unlined but, hey, nobody's perfect. Besides, I can Ill-afford the extra bulk of lining, so I can live with that.

Drywhiteplease · 13/09/2014 23:57

Grumpy I've tried 5 so far. Am making a list of the next lot!

QueenCardigan · 14/09/2014 09:03

QueenCardigan · 14/09/2014 09:05

MarshaBrady · 14/09/2014 09:06

Morning.

Santa that would be great! Ha at the dance love it.

Grumpy your skirt sounds nice.

Dry I saw one in Comptoir de C and thought of you straight away.

I wonder if shearling-lined will be too hot for early autumn. Am still pondering, still tempted.

MarshaBrady · 14/09/2014 09:10

Gorgeous, QueenC

QueenCardigan · 14/09/2014 09:11
