Oh and QueenC (sorry, last post I promise), I couldn't get used to Claudia without the fringe and the kohl. Her makeup looked off colour wise (the foundation), and the flicky eyeliner was weirdly applied. Think I prefer old style....

I'd love it Shop but think I'd need a serious discount, here's hoping for sales

I don't watch Strictly but really want to see what you're talking about re Claudia.

maradesbois · 27/09/2014 09:34

Morning Voguettes,

Having my second espresso of the day with dh home for long weekend, lovely. Ignoring fact that am away for 2 weeks from tomorrow, haven't even thought about packing & am having a lunch party for 6.

Novice I remember that watch, bright pink croc strap? Would like a bright strap for my jaeger when the current one wears out. I thought of you during the week passing. Boodles - lovely window display of rose gold blossom collection.

Stokey tell us more about your Dita outfit.

Marsha good call if shoulders not right, I hate it when too wide.

Re. MNV classics I only bought gigis after reading about them on thread, great discovery. Alas no Marant or premium denim in my wardrobe. What I love though is that the thread gives ideas & allows opinions to be collected but everyone stays true to their own style.

QueenC have never really worn lipstick except for evenings but got a new one at chanel for going away & it's true that the right colour just brightens up your face. Going to experiment with it for daytime, that & big sunnies & I'll be good to go with minimal effort.

shopafrolic · 27/09/2014 09:42

Claudia
Oh YY Mara forgot the GiGis! :)

shopafrolic · 27/09/2014 09:45

Right - off to enter into flatpack furniture hell. Back later.

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 27/09/2014 09:46

Brilliant! Yes the pink a bit too much and prefer the old fringe.

Yes Gigis - I'm Gigi-less.

OneLittleLady · 27/09/2014 09:49

I'd not noticed that Shop! Tardis Tardis Tardis it makes me happy

stokey outfit sounds great, hope you enjoy the party. I love Dita, well, minus the stripping, she always looks so elegant. I believe she's a big fan of and works with Zac Possen a lot

Fedupnagging · 27/09/2014 10:08

The only mn purchase I have are the gigi's which I love. I would definitely have the rockstuds if could afford it.

I finally found a pair of silver shoes that were acceptable -these from Dune. 3" heel and fairly comfy. Dh wondered what the price per wear would be since they were so cheap Grin. Not sure how much I will wear them, so ppw won't be great!

Novice sounds like you had fun last night and I was somewhat Shock at you leaving house underdressed!

Marsha it's a shame you sent the blazer back! it look really nice but no point keeping if you are not sure.

Lib great links yesterday. I loved the tuxedo dress.

Stokey the 40's party sounds great. Will you do a 40's roll with your hair?

How was Kylie Dry?

Shop how did you style your tartan scarf? I tried wrapping mine round and then tying a knot as per various pics on pin but it's huge and covers half my head! I wore it just draped over one shoulder yesterday but it kept slipping off. The colours are good on me so I need to wear it!

santamarianovella · 27/09/2014 10:15

Morning,

No Gigis here too,

marsha I'm still lusting after that ysl blazer, mainly for the cut, they have beautiful velvet ones too, but they are super ££££ , it goes without saying Ofcourse , that if you get the blazer the western boots and tartan scarf are mandatory Wink

shopafrolic · 27/09/2014 10:18

Fedup it's a bit of a pig as it could do with being about a foot longer, or a bit thinner..... I lay it on the floor and fold it diagonally and then roll it a bit - thanks Dry, and then hold it in front of my neck horizontally and cross it round at the back of my neck and bring both ends forwards - no tying, I tend to tuck the ends through the loop......Really bad description!

bettykt · 27/09/2014 10:18

Stokey your outfit sounds great. Bet you 'll have a fun time tonight.

Marsha am loving your confessions Grin

I don't have any of the MNV staples in my wardrobe either. Since joining here I've become a lot more fussy with buying clothes and am probably buying less Shock but am trying to buy better quality.

Novice I re-read my post last night and not sure if it came across wrong. Smile Meant to add that your jewellery sounds gorgeous and not at all blingy.

I'm nursing a hangover here as well. Lots of caffeine here too.

Shop good luck with the flat pack. No expletives!

No fashion news here atm. Still in jim jams Smile Am off later to a football match, don't ask! Will wear camel Jaeger cardi with Gap merino sweater, boot cut jeans as they look right with my R&B that Russell & Bromley not Rag & Bone Grin tan loafer. No football shirt for me!

OneLittleLady · 27/09/2014 10:22

YES!! Finally my calf size has reduced! was a stonking great muscle mass of 22 inches but has no slimmed to 18.5 inches. I may one day yet get boots that fit! it's really weird but my calves are entirely made up of muscle, there's no fat on them at all, no matter how big fat I am. I thought with how much walking hobbling I do, they would have got bigger but they have actually slimmed down instead.

Sleepwhenidie · 27/09/2014 10:35

My mnv staples...rockstuds and JP dress. No gigis, Jimmis or Florettes.

Marsha how about trying the Rag&Bone blazer I got? A little more fitted on the shoulders I think...

I always wear pretty much the same jewellery, Rolex, wedding and engagement ring, Trinity ring, tennis bracelet and Dodo bracelet and diamond studs. Sometimes pendants, but have just ordered these for a change.

QueenCardigan · 27/09/2014 10:56

Lovely sleep. I love layered necklaces but in reality on me they end up tangled up.

shop I will be in flat pack hell next week. I'm so sick of seeing the filthy sofa in the playroom so I've ordered a new one with removable, washable covers and a media cabinet to house the TV/wii/wii u

Poor claudia. She gets criticised however she looks.

marsha glad you retuned it if not perfect. I must have lost weight around my shoulders and my grey Jersey jacket suddenly makes me look like an American footballer. I might wash it and hope it shrinks a bit.

Fedupnagging · 27/09/2014 11:10

Thanks Shop, will keep trying.

I really like Claudia and yes you are right Queen she does always seem to get criticised. I guess we are so used to seeing her with that heavy fringe and eyeliner that she looked so different last night. Saying that, she was making some very funny faces towards the end. Nerves, maybe.

I don't wear necklaces often, tend to go for scarves although I have a couple of 'statement' necklaces. I feel bare if I go out without earrings and wedding ring - don't mind if I don't wear the engagement or eternity ring though.

Karbea · 27/09/2014 11:11

marsha I'm petite, only 5ft tall so I guess that blazer will be wrong for me too :(

MarshaBrady · 27/09/2014 11:28

Karbea it's quite big across the shoulders. So will probably feel wrong, not sure. If you do order, I'd take a size down.

Sleep that's lovely, but think I need navy.

On a blazer- I can probably get away with not having a new one at work, whatever I get I have to love it enough for casual. That'd be the Saint Laurent then Grin

Santa oh yes scarf, boots and scarf would be nice!

Sleepwhenidie · 27/09/2014 11:42

Marsha sleeves too much?

simpler

AmberNectarine · 27/09/2014 12:41

Claudia has lost a lot of weight - not sure it suits her.

I have a lot of MNV staples - rockstuds, plenty of Wang, Marant, Jimmies, Goldsigns, JP dress, Disco, Gigis... No wonder I can't shut my wardrobe!

Was out last night - wore long sleeved dark purple top, a tartan mini from Jack Wills of all places, opaques and black Aquazzuralikes from New Look. Sounds a bit mental but it worked, I think. Obligatory red lippy and Disco accompanying.

Still in PJs ATM, chilling with DH on the sofa.

Drywhiteplease · 27/09/2014 16:22

Hello everyone!

Kylie.....Good lord...8 costume changes! Her shoes....HER SHOES!!!!!a fun night.
Novice I think you may have mixed me up with the transvestite....I looked decidedly underdressed next to her Grin

And....I have at long last bought a pair of classic, black suede courts after my friend said last night that I've been looking for them for years and would be retired by the time I buy them, thought I'd get to it Grin
I tried the Florettes, very nice, I know you're all grin to y
Tell me off, but I like to commit to a heel and fell in love with these and 25%off from Whistles.
Out tonight....planning to wear them with black skinnies and plum sleeveless top.

Mumsnet Vogue - volume 45
OneLittleLady · 27/09/2014 16:41

they are gorgeous dry they make your feet look very slim. I think I need a similar sort of shoe but with a lower heel, it's a definite gap in my shoe collection. Glad you had a good night

My look is a bit masculine today, i finally found some brogue style shoes I liked. They are just plain black leather and fit beautifully, from New Look of all places and only cost me 11 pounds for real leather. They have a slight heel as well which can be reheeled when it wears down so they should last. Have been wearing them all day and haven't had any rubbing at all. rest of outfit is darkwash skinnies, a dark grey DC comics tee and a long black cardigan. it's ever so slightly masculine because of the shoes but I like it for a casual weekend look, I'd even be happy to go to a casual pub night in it

Topazandpearl · 27/09/2014 16:51

They look great Dry, you will enjoy wearing them having wanted them for so long.

Are Me&Em ruched dresses an MNV staple? I have two short-sleeved and one long-sleeved one. I have also upgraded my denim - all thanks to MNV.

I struggle with blazers Marsha, I can never find one that flatters. Good luck with the continued hunt.

LinusDKD · 27/09/2014 17:11

Gorgeous shoes dry!

I haven't worn mine yet apart from around the house as I haven't had a night out yet. Will definitely take them to NY!

Will try and catch up later but Shock at marsha returning the jacket! I thought it was perfect?

Fedupnagging · 27/09/2014 17:57

Nice shoes Dry - they look very elegant.

One how is your wrist! is it still hurting?

Not fashion related but this happened today. (Not my machine, just a pic). Sorted that, put machine on to run through again, it got stuck. Have just spent an hour emptying an extra large washing machine drum full of water. I'm soaked, the kitchen floor is soaked, every towel in the house is soaked. .......aaanndd breathe.........

Actually today has gone from bad to worse - won't bore you with the details but I have a couple of bottles of Viognier chilling. Am pleased its a night in as exhausted.

Drywhiteplease · 27/09/2014 18:17

Oh no Fedup!!!! Get a bottle opened quick........
