There's a chill in the air as we head towards Autumn. Some of us may have jetted off to sunnier spots, some of us are lounging on yachts (kind of) but we're still going strong 44 editions in. Come and join us for fun, friendly fashion and beauty chat. All welcome, any budget. :)

I tried that leather skirt a couple of weeks ago and it feels lovely but it just didn't suit me.

libertychick · 02/09/2014 21:25

This type of look Dry?

Linus which one did you try - Zara or Temperley?

Drywhiteplease · 02/09/2014 21:27

Is it just me or is this a ridiculous/unflattering/ insane outfit or have I lost my fashion mojo? Grin Confused

LinusDKD · 02/09/2014 21:30

The Zara one liberty but the pleats/gathering around the waist didn't look good on me.

Love that pin btw! Such a great outfit.

dry your link, not such a great outfit.

libertychick · 02/09/2014 21:31

It's hideous Dry, HI-D-EOUS. Your fashion mojo is intact says the always late to trends woman

OneLittleLady · 02/09/2014 21:33

it's grim Dry wouldn't be seen emptying my bin in it

Fedupnagging · 02/09/2014 21:40

Dry Grin I'm far too polite to start a fight!!

That Zara outfit really does not show either the clothes or model in the best light - see how polite I am being? hideous is the word that springs to mind

I did see that skirt Lib and it is lovely but I don't really suit flared skirts. I would go for a neater pencil skirt style. Really like the skirt and stripy top you linked. I would definitely wear that especially with knee length boots.

Drywhiteplease · 02/09/2014 21:45

Fun illy enough I really like this dress

QueenCardigan · 02/09/2014 21:46

I have no words for the zara outfit dry.
lib I love that leather skirt pin. I think I linked that ages ago when grumpy was buying a leather skirt.
fedup I agree with mara if flared go pleather but if pencil consider real. I guess it all depends on cpw and whether it's worth paying for real leather?

Drywhiteplease · 02/09/2014 22:00

interesting
a possibility
[[http://www.houseoffraser.co.uk/Hobbs+Thea+Skirt/205161308,default,pd.html plain]
more a line
nice wrap but £££ but their leather is super soft

Drywhiteplease · 02/09/2014 22:02

Link fail plain but maybe that's a good thing

Drywhiteplease · 02/09/2014 22:09

Liberty I love that leather skirt look....just need to find it now

libertychick · 02/09/2014 22:15

Ah I must have found that pin via you then QueenC it is such a great look.

Dry the Jaeger one is lovely. Hobbs looks good too. I don't like the one with zips. Not sure about the All Saints dress - would need to see you in it.

libertychick · 02/09/2014 22:17

They had one like it in Whistles but only left in size 16 now unfortunately.

Drywhiteplease · 02/09/2014 22:50

liberty wouldn't buy the dress! just thought it looked nice.

Drywhiteplease · 02/09/2014 22:51

Oh bother the Whistles is perfect Sad.....plenty of time though

LinusDKD · 03/09/2014 07:43

Morning!

Really love that first K Millen skirt dry! I think it would be a 'safe' way of trying out a leather skirt without going the whole hog.

liberty is your DvF dress arriving today? Live reveal please?

That reminds me I am going to a wedding this weekend and I have no idea what to wear. It's quite a casual affair so maybe my DvF wrap dress.

DM said she wasn't going to dress up and was going to wear her Hervé Leger dress. Hmm. That's not dressing up for a wedding in her book. Smile

libertychick · 03/09/2014 10:22

I love the sound of your DM Linus though I would be terrified to meet her Grin.

DVF has been dispatched, hoping it arrives today, yes will do a live reveal (if it fits)...

shopafrolic · 03/09/2014 13:50

Afternoon all. I've been lurking for a few days - trying to spend a bit less time online and failing.
DS had his first morning at pre-school today. He looked so grown up :( He seems to have had a good time but when I picked him up from the school gates he had a bit of a tantrum and hit me on the arm 4 or 5 times in front of the teacher and all the other mums! Great start (and v out of character for him)
While he was there I had a browse round our local massive M&S and they have some lovely things in for A&W (and some absolute horrors too). Leopard jumper anyone?
I loved these boots and had them in my bag until I realised I have nowhere to wear them :(
And I fell in love with the duster coat
But I came away with some socks for me and uniform bits for DS. may well go back for the coat

Great coat shop! And I love the boots.

Poor shopjr he probably was exhausted! So many new things to do and so many new people.

My magenta Splendid ls tee arrived just now and it's lovely. Might have a look at the Ounet for more. Wink

libertychick · 03/09/2014 14:55

Shop when DD is very tired or over excited she hits me on the arm - I always it is feel really shocked by it but just them being a bit overwhelmed emotionally.

Duster coat is fab.

Fedupnagging · 03/09/2014 15:06

Has your DVF dress arrived yet Lib?

Shop your ds was probably tired and taking it out on you. He was maybe unsure how to react too? Glad he seemed to enjoy himself. Back to fashion! Duster coat is lovely. Will you buy? Not so keen on the jumper!

Linus your dm is in a completely different league Grin

I have just realised I have £25 boden vouchers to be used soon. There is also a 15% discount code around too. Not sure what I want from Boden ATM and despite being no spend September, is too good an offer to miss. Will have another look and maybe post some links later.

libertychick · 03/09/2014 16:40

Not here today fedup and I am not at home much over next few days so it could be Monday before I can accept delivery.

Drywhiteplease · 03/09/2014 16:41

Shop so glad DS had a good day. Don't worry about tantrum, teachers have seen it all and I'm sure all the parents sympathised Smile

BrandyAlexander · 03/09/2014 18:24

Don't worry shop. The tantrums that mini novice has been throwing the last 3 days at drop offs I am actually amazed Dry hasn't heard him from where she is and called Social Services. dh who is as calm as you can get did it this morning and when I texted him to ask him how it had gone he said it almost ripped his heart out and that he was the last parent to leave 30 mins after everyone else.Sad of course when I went to pick him up this afternoon he was absolutely fine and insisted he hadn't cried this morning. Shock it took dd 2 terms to stop clinging to me so this could be a tough year! orders more wine

on a brighter note, I had an issue that meant I might have had to fund clothes and bling out of dh's income for the next year. Thankfully that's all resolved! phew!
