Sorrel- hat dress is strapless and I need something on my shoulders.

Queen- I think I used the wrong description. It's definitely lounge suit but there will be a lot of very wealthy people there who will be wearing big money clothes.

MrPop · 14/09/2014 09:15

Something in the V Westwood style?

Like this?

Love the colour but may be too short?

Just done a quick trawl of the outnet:

too revealing?

Lang

Lovely colour

twist

I like these James Perse dresses but may be too casual

here

and here

Also randomly an M&S dress in the same style:

here

Any close to what you were thinking? I'm not really sure what 'lounge suit' means either??

MrPop · 14/09/2014 09:22

Or a skirt like this with a drapey top?

QueenCardigan · 14/09/2014 10:05

perfect I understand now I'm sober! I was somehow thinking lounge suit meant lounge wear Grin.

Is something like this too structured for you?

QueenCardigan · 14/09/2014 10:08

What about something like this. It comes with detachable straps if you don't like strapless.

QueenCardigan · 14/09/2014 10:10

pink. I know these coast dresses are over budget but you can often get 25% off when HOF or debenhams have their blue cross events.

Thanks for all the tips! I've sobered up from last nights wine and had a chat with DH about money and have found a dress that I'm going to wear. I need to stop spending money!

SorrelForbes · 14/09/2014 11:20

Which dress have you gone for?

ThePerfectNegroni · 14/09/2014 13:42

It's a black lace Kären Millen shift dress- it's a black slip with a lace dress that goes over it. I bought it at least 7 years ago in the dregs of the sale with nothing to wear it for and I've worn it quite a few times.

SorrelForbes · 14/09/2014 13:55

That sounds perfect!

Popped out earlier to the shops to get a shower rail and somehow ended up buying this jacket. I'm sure it'll be useful

MissScatterbrain · 14/09/2014 15:35

OOhh Sorrel - that is gorgeous and I now want one!

MrPop · 14/09/2014 16:22

Grin at your typo Sorrel

GingerLemonTea · 14/09/2014 19:51

Not been on for ages so enjoying reading through & looking at links. Have bought very little, a slouchy stripe top fro Asda & a dress/ tunic from Next which has been on 3x already. Will try & find links. Have my eye on this coat from local boutique.

GingerLemonTea · 14/09/2014 19:57

Asda top, off white & navy tho now that I've taken tags off. Like it.

GingerLemonTea · 14/09/2014 20:03

Looks much better on & v comfy easy to wear. Not a bright white, but off white & definite contrast with the dark grey. Only £22 & I have worn with black leggings.

SorrelForbes · 14/09/2014 20:52

Oops Blush

fooogle · 15/09/2014 13:43

GingerLemon, those things look nice. Can't really carry off the tunicy thing but like the stripes and pink though dp didn't like the pink t I had the other day and said it had connotations?!

Am currently rummaging through the baukjen sale of the sale. deary me the number of emails I get from shops, its dangerous and hard to ignore. Anyone else have that trouble? or do you not see it as trouble! Grin

Also debating on another red lippy ala wearingittoday blog lady.

What style type do you think Kimono type tops/dresses suit?

Glad you've found a suitable dress ThePerfect.

Sorrelforbes, nice jacket. I really fancy a biker one but never look quite right on me or maybe just self conscious. May be a style thing?

MrPop · 15/09/2014 15:43

I am bad for being drawn into sales shopping and emails enticing me to shop Fooogle. I have unsubscribed from a lot of emails but still keep informed by coming onto S&B! Just had a look at Baukjen - luckily the things I liked were oos in my size. Did you get anything?

Not sure about kimonos and who they suit - hopefully someone who has done the style day can shed more light.

I like kimonos but don't feel 'me' in them.

Oh random question for anyone who has done the style day - what style would you say J Crew is? I would describe it as 'preppy' but not sure how it would translate into HOC speak??

SorrelForbes · 15/09/2014 18:12

Classic/Gamine maybe?

Fooogle I feel the same really about leather jackets but was talked into it by my DSis. However, I wore it today with heels, a white a line skirt and a black and blue top and got three compliments!

Stokey · 15/09/2014 18:53

Great jacket Sorrel

I think J Crew are Natural Classic maybe? I've got a few skirts from there but only in the sales as its eye wateringly expensive. I am coveting their cashmere though I've never seen it reduced.

I got the burgundy Baukjen tunic, the colour's great. It's a little clingy but DH liked it so am keeping it. I also got a grey a- line skirt from there which will be good for work.

mimiasovitch · 15/09/2014 21:37

I need help please. I'm so tempted by the linea merino cardigan in green, but it's really a bit too bright for me (jewel wannabe). Anyone seen a nice, fine knit, preferably wool, cardigan in pine green. I like crew necks best. Does the boden http://m.boden.co.uk/en-GB/Womens-Knitwear/Cardigans/WK974/Womens-Favourite-Cardigan.html evergreen look ok? It seems a bit blue on my screen.

mimiasovitch · 15/09/2014 21:39

Sorry, link fail. Try again.

NowhereNow · 15/09/2014 23:35

I've been on the lookout for a dark green cardigan too - I saw a Mango one on the John Lewis website that looked like it might be a good colour. I seem to have lost the ability to do links, but it's a Mango basic round neck cardigan in dark green.

NowhereNow · 15/09/2014 23:45

Mango cardigan

Looking at the cardigan again perhaps it is a bit muted/not vibrant enough.
