Just spotted this claret dress on the St Bustier site. A Winter colour or not bright enough?

I think that looks pretty good. What a great site. I so want to shop, but am needing to spend all my pennies on other people. Nearly finished, and I have a style day booked for the end of the month. Then I'll let loose the wallet!

Marvelling at your stamina Sorrel - usually I'm done with shopping by the time I've tried one thing on !

Report
SorrelForbes · 05/11/2014 19:58

I took everything into the changing room at once and speed 'tried' Grin. It was fairly early before the shops got al crowded and hot!

I haven't bought anything from St Bustier but if I had any parties coming up I'd be tempted to order that dress.

Still in awe Sorrel ! I hate shopping in person - online or not at all. I agree those St Bustier dresses are fab - I'd never have occasion to wear one alas but a velvety wrap top.... Oh that would be good !

Do you think the office ones are ok for work or are they a bit casual? I like them, just for done reason like the clarks ones even though they are a bit marmite!

Report
didireallysaythat · 05/11/2014 21:18

fooogle Boden have something similar I think but I'm not sure the 25% off includes shoes...

SorrelForbes · 05/11/2014 21:23

I wear my Ash Jalouse with everything and they are quite distressed looking (worse now than when new obviously!). I wear them for work with skirts, trousers and dresses.

I'm really sorry but I don't like the Clarks ones at all. Marmite indeed!

fooogle · 05/11/2014 22:18

No worries! Not sure what draws me to them. They are a bit wierd.
Guessing can't resole the office ones and it's funny but I think part of the goodness of ash boots is the dip down at the front? The office one isn't as pronounced which is a shame as I think it makes your legs looks longer.
Thanks for your thoughts Smile

I am normally a Clarks fan but don't like those either - sorry fooogle! The office ones are classic and a good price. I do try to avoid suede nowadays, as I live somewhere v wet. Should be fine with protector though.

This matalan boot is similar to your clarks one if you wanted to look but for cheaper. Not leather though.

I have these - leather and comfy. Only 7 left, I found they came up a bit small.

Hi all, I've had a busy few days so not posted much although have managed to spend.

I've bought 3 pairs of jeans in gap with either 30 or 40% off in dai blue and black.

And I've found the perfect emerald cardigan! Ages ago I ordered an emerald cardi from lansdend (Emerald Isle) and I kept it and wore it loads over the summer but it never was quite vibrant enough. But this one (emerald gulf) is perfect. Just on the right side of blue rather than yellow which I find so many emeralds to be. It's a shame that lansdend sizing is so big (only go as small as a small bt I could do with smaller) but I can live with that. I'm v happy.

Glad you all like my new bag. I've used it a couple of times this week although because it's fairly small it doesn't fit in some of the stuff I often cart around when I have a small child in tow. Whoever asked whether it's my everyday bag, the answer is yes, but I also have about 10 other day bags too. I could be queen handbag as well as queen cardigan Grin.

Off to catch up on links...

Do we think this colour is clear enough to be suitable for a winter? they call it emerald but it seems to have a slight softeness. I have a black tie/ cocktail wear do in America in the middle of December and wondered about it. If anybody can find anything similar and cheaper let me know!

Queen - great cardigan ! I'm looking for one without buttons to the neck but straight up seems to be the style this year....

I saw that dress in the latest Pepperberry catalogue and wondered about the colour. Worth a try I'd say but probably a bit muted. The material on the top is what's put me off ordering so I'd be keen to hear what you think about the quality.

Report
ForSaleChesterDraws · 07/11/2014 08:36

I don't think I'm going to order it either. It's a bit too polyester, but I love the shape of it.

Report
MissScatterbrain · 07/11/2014 08:42

The green dress is not right for a winter - too muted.

SorrelForbes · 07/11/2014 09:05

I'm thinking of ordering this. Because I don't need another black party dress

I love that site, Sorrel. As a fellow curvy girl I am wondering what to wear for a 1920s Prohibition themed Christmas party... Confused

Report
SorrelForbes · 07/11/2014 12:26

I love 20s dresses but they are tricky for those with curves. Could you perhaps go slightly 30s instead in something a bit slinkier, cut on the bias?

eBay?

Any chance of help on this one ?

After a freezing night at the fireworks last night, I may have to conceed that the 18 year old north face has had it (we won't mention what an awful colour it is). I'm up for a Didrikson (with detachable fur muff of course!) but the style I like has rather boring colours. Which one of these would you suggest for a natural, romantic, winter who is rubbish with colours like me

www.didriksons.com/product/?c=13&articleId=4369&typeId=0&usageId=6&systemId=0&sizeId=0&search=

I'm going to end up with black, aren't I ?

Report
MissScatterbrain · 07/11/2014 15:12

Is purple romantic? I would be inclined to go for black or midnight blue.

Report
didireallysaythat · 07/11/2014 17:03

I'm allergic to purple - my mother wears it...
