didireally, I've got a didrikson Mary ;I think!). It's black if I recall but it's actually more of a charcoal grey in reality? It's warm (bit too warm at the mo as it has a fleecey lining at the back; annoyingly in cream-Grrrr) Certainly is warm and dry though.

I did fancy navy though.
I went without the fur trim in the end as it annoyed me and I fantasied about making my own real fur one a la a Canada goose coat but haven't yet!

fooogle I'm hoping the fur will satisfy the natural romantic..... I think I'm going to go for black. It has to be done online alas and I'm not patient enough to buy several colours and send stuff back. Shame.... One of the other design has a pillar box red I fancied ! But I leave in the east so I want to be warm !

Ah ha, forgot about style types. Not sure the one I have is anything cool on that front. When I first tried it I felt it could be a bit like a cool oversized ski coat chic...I do worry occasionally I look a berk! A warm berk though Grin.

So, yesterday I wore, mid wash boyfriend jeans, navy converse, black denim shirt (topshop, basically looks dark grey?), mid/lighter grey cashmere crew neck... Then electric blue northface rain coat!
Not sure it was the best of looks...!

Spotted these on-line this morning. I'm presuming they mean a US 6? In which case surely that's equivalent to an Italian size 40 (going by their sizing guide)? Confused.

Good price though for what could be a fab pair of party trousers!

This is identified as smokey teal, but do you think it is right for a winter?

How are people faring with bright lipsticks and can I have a reminder of your faves?

I have totally fallen out of the habit of wearing it. I saw some pics of me wearing it and thought it looked good but I have to get over that 'everyone is looking at me' feeling again, gah. Plus doesn't help that my life is v casual so I feel it is a bit 'oooh get me' when I put lipstick on.

I've just bought this in Passion Pink - a bright pink. I LOVE it!

I've just bought a Rimmel super long lasting lipstick in 'play with fire'.

Worn once so far and provisionally impressed.

Had a few 'ooooh look at your lipstick' comments but that's par for the course.

AsBrightAsAJewel I like that jumper but I know it would be much to muted for me (Jewel Winter). WHite Stuff clothes are rarely any good for us Winters (see top of the thread!).

MrPop Now that the weather has definitely become more wintery I'm wearing my reds much more than my pinks and fuchsias. I love my Estee Lauder Colour Envy in Red Ego. It looks good with a few layers and also when blotted right down to a stain liek appearance IYSWIM? I also bought a Tom Ford one recently in Bruised Plum. It's very dark so probbaly not what you'd call bright, more dramatic. For a bright pink, I haven't found anything brighter than the Estee Lauder (again!) in Dominant.

Thanks, SorrelForbes - I've never bought anything from White Stuff before, but I'm looking for some new winter jumpers. I have a bright red pencil skirt and am looking for something grey to wear with it. I also fancy something bright, but haven't seen anything yet, so if anyone spots any smartish jumpers please post links.
I'm a jewel winter, too. I have lots of black and bright summer clothes but am now trying to add other colours to my autumn/winter wardrobe. I'm gamine style so most jumpers are too shapeless (or too fitted for my bugles Sad ) so I hoped this would be ideal. Never mind, I'll keep looking.

I've just bought a grey jumper from Crew (Outlet) which has a slight sparkle in the knit. I'm planning to wear it with a cobalt blue pencil skirt.

I saw quie a few similar tops in JL last week including this one from Oasis and this one from Mango. There were others but I can't remember what makes. I browsed mainly in Jigaw, Hobbs, Reiss and Whistles.

For bright tops, have you looked at Uniqlo? I've got this jumper in Shade 16 - Red. It's very bright and they do other items in the same colour.

I'm searching for royal and cobalt blue tops at the moment.

AsBrightAsAJewel · 08/11/2014 12:51

I think I saw quite a bit of bright blue on John Lewis website recently (maybe in Jigsaw?), but whether it is cobalt I'm not sure.
I'll head off to Uniqlo now, thanks.

I've just had the Pia catalogue drop through my letterbox. Has anyone bought anything from them? I can see lots of things I like the look of for Christmas presents and for me!

AsBrightAsAJewel I have been looking on the Boden site this morning as I got a £10 voucher. Would any of these be any good?

Perfect NowhereNow thank you. I feel an online Boden spree coming on. Again, its a company I've never bought from before.

I've never bought from them either, but I think they often have free delivery and free returns offers, especially if you sign up for a catalogue/emails.

Thanks for the lippy info. Will have to save details for next time in boots. I wore revlon berry smoothie when I went out earlier

AsBright I also recommend uniqlo for knitwear - their merino in particular.

I am wearing a j crew tippi today - they are quite £ but I got mine for less in the net-a-porter sale so they are worth looking at.

Boden is good to order from, easy to return and as nowhere says, always look for a code to get free delivery.

I bought some Pia stuff about 15 years ago - was fine then, no idae about now - they seem to be having a resurgence though.

NowhereNow · 08/11/2014 16:41

I'm rubbish with lipstick (in fact I'm rubbish with make up in generally and rarely bother). I bought 3 of the revlon colours that are often recommended on here - berry smoothie, raspberry pie and red velvet, but I don't like the way they feel - I find them quite drying and they make my lips feel sort of tingly.

I always think proper lipstick looks weird on me (could it be because I probably have natural in my style personality somewhere?), so I apply and then blot a lot so it has just stained my lips. I have a lovely Clinique butter shine (?) called Parisienne Red which is perfect for applying and blotting as it is very highly pigmented.

I also use posietint (I only have a free tester but keep meaning to splash out on a full bottle), benetint and a boots chubby stick knock off in a pink colour.

RaisingSteam · 08/11/2014 16:49

I'm wearing a Clinique chubby stick in the plummiest colour - Broadest Berry. It's just a bit easier to wear with a mostly-bare face than the HOC lipstick. Although with dark colours, do you have to be more careful about keeping them looking tidy - lip pencil, primer, touch-ups, to avoid a two-tone splodge after an hour or two?
